Chapter Seventy-Nine: Scumbag

He Lingchuan's body stiffened instantly. He responded with a sound of agreement and pushed Shen Yanxi away, saying, "It's fine to do this in front of the child."

Shen Yanxi looked at her empty hands and raised her head arrogantly: "Of course I know."

The two reached an agreement, and for the sake of the child, the relationship between Shen Yanxi and He Lingchuan improved considerably.

If Zhou Mingyan hadn't been constantly causing trouble, He Lingchuan believed the children's aversion to school would have subsided much faster.

For the sake of the children, He Lingchuan had been turning a blind eye until Zhou Mingyan deliberately fed Shen Yanxi fruit in front of the children, at which point He Lingchuan began to get restless.

"Cough cough..."

He Lingchuan didn't want to embarrass Shen Yanxi in front of the children, so he coughed twice to remind them, but they acted as if they hadn't heard him, especially Zhou Mingyan, who pointed to the honeydew melon on the plate and said in a coquettish tone, "Xixi, I want to eat that."

Shen Yanxi glanced at it, then naturally used a fork to pick up the melon and put it to Zhou Mingyan's mouth.

Zhou Mingyan chuckled, his lower lip brushing against Shen Yanxi's finger as if by accident.

He Lingchuan was furious. Just as he was about to take the children back to their room, he saw Nan Chen and Bei Chen imitating him and feeding each other fruit.

"Nan Chen, what are you doing?"

Since the children began to show signs of disliking school, He Lingchuan had been paying close attention to their mental health. He rarely lost his temper with them, but this time he truly couldn't take it anymore.

Upon hearing He Lingchuan's words, the two children looked up blankly and innocently replied, "I was feeding my little brother fruit."

After saying that, Nan Chen took another piece of apple and handed it over: "Dad, do you want some?"

He Lingchuan's face was ashen. His worst fears had come true. The two children had learned the moves so well that they had even grasped the essence of the art.

Shen Yanxi listened to their conversation and belatedly realized her mistake.

Her face immediately flushed, and her voice carried a hint of anger: "Mingyan, the child is still here."

She pushed away the fruit Zhou Mingyan offered, subconsciously looked at the two children, and slowly said, "Mommy and Uncle Zhou are joking, don't imitate them, okay?"

Before the children could speak, He Lingchuan got up first, pushed the two children's shoulders, and walked into the room: "Let's go in first."

Shen Yanxi wanted to say something, but He Lingchuan stopped her with a look.

She knew she was in the wrong, and her expression was rather unclear.

Zhou Mingyan knew he had really come here this time, and took the initiative to apologize: "Xixi, I was inconsiderate this time. I didn't expect the two children to learn from me."

He reached out to grab Shen Yanxi, but she shook him off: "Since you know that what you're doing is wrong, you should restrain yourself."

Thinking about their behavior over the past few days, Shen Yanxi's expression darkened further, and her words turned into a reprimand: "You need to be more mindful of your behavior in front of the children in the future. If you continue to act like this without any regard for your conduct, then don't come here again."

As Shen Yanxi spoke, Zhou Mingyan's lips slowly drooped. He looked at the person in front of him in disbelief: "Xixi, are you blaming me for being tactless?"

His voice sounded a little choked up. Taking advantage of Shen Yanxi's patience, he deliberately squeezed out a tear or two, looking aggrieved as if he had been bullied: "I know I was wrong. To avoid the children's studies, I will never come again."

Zhou Mingyan turned his head away, his face full of displeasure.

Shen Yanxi was annoyed just now, but now she felt a little sorry for Zhou Mingyan when she saw his aggrieved look.

She sat down next to Zhou Mingyan and said to him, "Okay, okay, don't be angry. I also bear some responsibility for this. I didn't stop you."

Shen Yanxi gently wiped away He Lingchuan's tears. Just as she was about to continue comforting him, she heard the sound of a door opening behind her.

She looked in the direction of the sound and saw He Lingchuan leading two children out.

What are you going there for?

Shen Yanxi looked at them with a worried expression, but He Lingchuan seemed not to see her and walked past her with the two children in his hand.

Shen Yanxi chased after him, wanting to say something, when she saw He Lingchuan turn around, his voice stern: "I'm taking the two children out to play for a while."

After saying that, he glanced at Zhou Mingyan, who was sitting on the sofa wiping his eyes: "So that you don't see anything you shouldn't see later."

Shen Yanxi sensed the sarcasm in his words and was somewhat displeased: "What nonsense are you talking about? That was an accident."

"You don't need to explain to me."

He Lingchuan's tone was very sharp. He warned Shen Yanxi in a low voice: "As long as you don't do these things in front of the child, you can do whatever you want."

He Lingchuan ignored them and took the children's hands as they left the villa.

Just as Shen Yanxi was about to chase after him, she heard Zhou Mingyan pitifully calling her name.

She hesitated for a moment, but eventually returned to Zhou Mingyan's side and comforted him.

...

After leaving the old house, He Lingchuan thought that there was a beach here, so he could take his two children there to play in the water.

As they got closer to the sea, He Lingchuan saw a familiar figure.

He wasn't sure at first, but when Cao Xue turned around and waved to him, he went over.

"What a coincidence, what are you doing here all alone?"

Did Cao Wei really trust her to come out alone?

"I went for a follow-up check-up today."

Cao Xue smiled bitterly and looked at He Lingchuan as she slowly said, "The doctor said that my condition is much more serious than before, and they suggested that I have a heart transplant."

"Is it that serious?"

He Lingchuan was taken aback. He frowned, feeling a pang of heartache for no apparent reason.

Cao Xue appears to be no different from a normal person. Such a young and beautiful girl, yet she has reached the point of needing a heart transplant.

He Lingchuan frowned and subconsciously grabbed Cao Xue's hand: "I can help you find a donor heart. I know a lot of doctors, and they should be able to help you."

"Really?"

Cao Xue looked at the person beside her with anticipation. Her voice was choked and her eyes were red. When facing He Lingchuan, she would subconsciously let down her guard.

Cao Xue couldn't help but ask, "Brother Lingchuan, can you really help me?"

"Don't worry, I will help you find the best doctor and I will try my best to find a donor heart."

He Lingchuan gently squeezed Cao Xue's shoulder; his grip wasn't strong, but it gave Cao Xue a lot of strength.

At that moment, Cao Xue suddenly felt hopeful, and her depressed mood disappeared.

To reassure Cao Xue, He Lingchuan mentioned the talisman he had given her a few days ago: "Don't worry, with this talisman, you'll definitely be safe."

He Lingchuan smiled warmly as he comforted Cao Xue while contacting his doctor friends, completely unaware that Shen Yanxi was walking towards them.

She was furious and blocked He Lingchuan's way, sneering at him: "So that's why you were in such a hurry to bring the kids out to play, you scumbag."
