Chapter 13 I've been searching for many years



Cui Shenghe carried Zhao Zhi and strode away from the pavilion.

"Young master, did you use a soul-capturing spell on Miss Zhao?" Cui Jiu asked in a low voice.

Cui Shenghe remained silent, which was taken as tacit agreement.

He was too eager to know news about his mother.

In the room, Cui Shenghe slowly removed the human skin mask from his face.

Beneath the human skin mask lay a face that bore an uncanny resemblance to Zhao Zhi. A bold guess suddenly popped into his mind.

Half an incense stick later, Cui Shenghe sat in front of the couch, looking at the two drops of blood that had mingled together in the bowl. With trembling hands, he gently stroked Zhao Zhi's face, thinking to himself, "It's time to go and meet the mistress of the Zhao family."

When Zhao Zhi woke up, she felt a splitting headache.

Seeing Cui Shenghe sitting by her bedside, she asked in confusion, "Brother, can your tea really make people drunk? How come I fell asleep after only a few cups?"

Cui Shenghe looked at her with affection, "Zhizhi, the tea that your brother drank wasn't intoxicating, it just had a slight sleep-inducing effect. You must have been resting poorly these days and drank too much, which is why you suddenly fell asleep."

Zhao Zhi, unsuspecting, quickly stood up and apologized, "I'm sorry for causing you trouble."

He and Zhao Zhi returned to the pavilion, where Cui Jiu had already laid out paper and pens.

Cui Shenghe asked Zhao Zhi what pose he should strike, and Zhao Zhi told him to just stand there and look at the scenery.

Cui Shenghe then took out a jade flute from his sleeve and began to play it while looking at the water lilies in the lake, which resembled jade ribbons.

Zhao Zhi glanced at him, rolled up her sleeves, sketched out a rough outline in her mind, and then began to draw.
