As he spoke, he grabbed Li Liang by the collar, forcefully pressed his head down, and then slammed it against the ground repeatedly. Each impact was accompanied by a dull thud, inspiring fear in everyone present.
Soon, Li Liang's face was covered in blood, and he looked horribly horrified.
Zhao Zhi turned her head slightly, seemingly unwilling to witness this cruel scene, but still calmly instructed, "Don't kill him."
“I can’t kill him. I promised someone I’d spare his life.” Yun Zhang released Li Liang, letting him collapse to the ground, and then walked straight toward Shen Hanshan.
He walked up to Shen Hanshan, smiled politely, and asked, "May I use your sword?" A strange light flickered in his eyes.
However, Shen Hanshan did not respond to him, as if he had not heard him at all. He just stood there quietly, expressionless.
Seeing this, Zhao Zhi tossed his sword to Yun Zhang and said, "You're welcome!"
In her heart, she cursed, "You damned Yunzhang, you promised me that after we parted ways in Yunluo you would go back to Dunyang and I would come to Chunsheng County. Why did you follow me here?"
She glanced at Shen Hanshan subconsciously. If this jealous man knew that he had made Yunzhang the Imperial Noble Consort, would the two of them start fighting right now?
No! No! I hope Yunzhang leaves as soon as he gets his revenge!
On the other side, Yun Zhang took the sword, gave Shen Hanshan a meaningful look, and then picked up Zhao Zhi's sword and walked back towards Li Liang.
Li Liang was terrified. He wiped the blood from his face with his hands and watched Yun Zhang walk towards him with his sword, crawling backward in fear. His eyes were filled with terror and helplessness, as if he already foresaw what terrible thing was about to happen.
"Yunzhang, what...what are you going to do?"
Yun Zhang stopped a step away from him, then slowly squatted down, staring intently at Li Liang with a strange smile on his face: "Old Li, how could you not know what I'm going to do?"
After saying that, he suddenly burst into laughter, his laughter filled with madness and hatred.
“Of course I am,” he slowly raised the sword in his hand, its tip gleaming coldly, “I’m returning what you gave me back then!”
Li Liang's face turned deathly pale instantly. His eyes widened, filled with fear and despair.
However, Yun Zhang did not give him any chance to react. He suddenly swung his sword and stabbed it hard into Li Liang's spine.
"puff--"
Blood splattered everywhere, and Li Liang immediately convulsed in pain. His body trembled violently, his mouth was wide open, but he couldn't make a sound.
He struggled to lift his head, reached out his hand towards Zhao Zhi, his lips moved slightly, and he managed to squeeze out a few words: "Your...Mistress, save...my life..."
Looking at Li Liang's pained expression, Zhao Zhi felt a complex mix of emotions. She knew Li Liang deserved his punishment, but the scene before her still made her feel uneasy.
She took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain calm, and turned her gaze to Yun Zhang, trying to find a trace of humanity in his eyes.
Yun Zhang, however, seemed completely unconcerned, his face still bearing that eerie smile.
He slowly pulled out his sword, blood dripping down the blade and forming gruesome pools on the ground. Li Liang's agonizing screams echoed in the air, sending chills down everyone's spines.
"Enough!" Zhao Zhi finally couldn't help but speak, her voice trembling slightly. "Yun Zhang, you have avenged yourself. You can leave now."
Yun Zhang slowly turned his head, his gaze meeting Zhao Zhi's.
His eyes were bloodshot. He caught a glimpse of fear in Zhao Zhi's eyes, his mind momentarily lapsed, and the fanaticism in his eyes slowly faded.
"Don't worry, I won't let this bastard die so easily." He glanced at Li Liang with contempt, then threw the sword aside.
Zhao Zhi breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time felt a sense of unease. She knew Yun Zhang was eager for revenge, but she hadn't expected him to be so cruel.
"Yunzhang, you..." Zhao Zhi hesitated, but ultimately didn't say it. She knew that some words, once spoken, could never be taken back.
Yun Zhang stood up, dusted himself off, and acted as if everything that had just happened had nothing to do with him.
He was still the aloof and noble Prince Yi of Yun Dynasty. He walked slowly to Zhao Zhi and bowed deeply. "Your Majesty, this humble subject will depart now. This humble subject," he said, raising his head and glancing meaningfully at Shen Hanshan, then smilingly added, "will remain in the palace, awaiting Your Majesty's triumphant return."
For some reason, Zhao Zhi felt there was something more to Yun Zhang's words. Her face flushed slightly, and she waved her hand, signaling him to leave quickly.
Yun Zhang bent down and picked up Zhao Zhi's sword from the ground. He carefully wiped it on his robe before respectfully presenting it with both hands, saying, "Returning the jade intact to Zhao."
Just as Zhao Zhi was about to take the sword from Yun Zhang, Shen Hanshan snatched it away first and said, "You've finished your business, so get out of here!"
Seeing that the battle was about to begin, Zhao Zhi quickly signaled Yun Zhang to go back first.
Yun Zhang was not angry at Shen Hanshan's rudeness. Instead, he spoke gently to Zhao Zhiwen in a provocative manner, "Your Majesty, I am always gentle and considerate. I am sure you will like me."
