Chapter 243 A Beautiful Dream on a Rainy Night

The rain has stopped, the night is clear and still, and all is quiet except for the occasional water droplets dripping from the eaves, gently tapping the bluestone and making a crisp, melodious sound.

Moonlight slowly filtered through the clouds, casting dappled shadows and shimmering light, draping the quiet courtyard in a soft, silvery glow.

It wasn't until 9 PM that Bai Wei calmed down and slowly fell asleep.

Bai Lian was already too sleepy to stay awake any longer. After helping her mistress to bed, she quickly fell asleep as well. Seeing that the lights in the room were off, Li Afu slowly opened the window and tiptoed inside.

Bai Wei must have drunk a lot of wine; her cheeks were slightly flushed, like pomegranates after the rain, vibrant and tempting to kiss.

In fact, Li Afu did just that.

But that passionate kiss ultimately landed on Bai Wei's forehead.

"Zhang Fang, Fang... is that you?" Bai Wei suddenly murmured in her dream, "I... I miss you..."

Li Afu did not respond to her. Instead, he turned and went to the side room, took out a medicine packet and placed it under Bai Lian's nose. After she absorbed some of it and saw that her breathing became deeper, he returned to Bai Wei's bedside with peace of mind.

By the light of the only candle in front of his bed, he slowly removed the human skin mask that had been disguised for so long, revealing a handsome and extraordinary face with a touch of vicissitudes—the face that Bai Wei had been longing for day and night.

He walked to Bai Wei's side, stroked her face as if it were a precious treasure, and softly called out, "Wei'er, look who I am?"

Li Afu's eyes were gentle as water, as if they could melt away all the ice and frost in the world. At this moment, he was gazing at Bai Wei with deep affection.

Bai Wei opened her eyes groggily, her eyes sparkling with surprise and tears. She held Zhang Fang's hand tightly, as if afraid that all of this was just a dream and would pass in an instant.

"A-Fang, are you my A-Fang?"

"Yes... I've come to see you."

Bai Wei sat up, clutching the blanket, her hands trembling, and reached out to stroke the other person's face. "A-Fang...A-Fang, I forgive you," she said. "Please don't avoid me anymore, okay?"

Zhang Fang gently cupped Bai Wei's cheeks, lightly wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes with his fingertips, and then slowly lowered his head. This time, his kiss no longer just lingered on her forehead, but was deeply imprinted on Bai Wei's lips.

Their lips touched, and it felt as if an electric current passed through them, instantly igniting a flame in each other's hearts.

"Ah Fang... Ah Fang, is it because I'm drunk... that you'd... come to see me..."

Bai Wei murmured, her arms encircling Zhang Fang's neck, her fingertips gently caressing the skin on the back of his neck, feeling that long-lost warmth and reality.

Zhang Fang's hand gently slid over Bai Wei's back, finally resting on her slender waist. With a gentle pull, he brought their bodies even closer together, leaving almost no gap between them.

His kiss changed from gentle to passionate, filled with endless longing and love, as if he wanted to make up for the time that had been missed.

In the candlelight, their faces were flushed, and their eyes reflected each other. At that moment, they had nothing but each other in their eyes.

Bai Wei closed her eyes and hugged the man she had longed for day and night and held in her heart for many years tightly, as if afraid that if she let go, all of this would vanish.

Moonlight streamed through the window lattice, bathing the two of them in a mysterious silver veil. Zhang Fang's breathing quickened as he felt Bai Wei's warmth seeping through the thin fabric of her clothes, a surge of indescribable tenderness welling up within him.

"Wei'er, you must be very tired today. Take a nap," he gently advised.

Bai Wei nestled against his chest like a cat, tightly hugging his waist, and said coquettishly, just like she did when she was a girl, "No! I... wait until I wake up... then you'll leave."

“Wei’er, I will never leave you again,” Li Afu replied in a low voice. “I will always be by your side, your eyes, your legs, and I will also… be your only man.”

"Ah Fang, I've waited for you for so long, and you lied to me..." Bai Wei's voice choked, and tears streamed down her face again.

Zhang Fang lowered his head, gently pulled Bai Wei to sit on his lap, and tenderly kissed away her tears, his eyes filled with heartache and guilt.

"I'm sorry, Vera, for making you suffer so much. I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you."

Bai Wei's hands trembled as she slowly reached into his clothes. Suddenly, she felt a dull pain in the back of her neck, her vision went black, and her body went limp as she leaned against the man's shoulder.

"Vell, you're drunk today. If you want... but not today."

After settling Bai Wei in and straightening her clothes, Li Afu sat in front of her dressing mirror, put the human skin mask back on, and slowly walked to the side room. He placed another light-colored medicine packet under Bai Lian's nose and let her smell it for a while before quietly leaving the room.

Outside the window, the night breeze gently caressed the trees, their shadows swaying. Li Afu stood under the eaves, slowly touching her lips, savoring the beautiful moment, and couldn't help but smile.

The body heat gradually dissipated as the night breeze blew.

Li Afu gazed in the direction of Dunyang City, a cold glint in his eyes. He stroked the handkerchief in his hand and muttered to himself, "Wei'er, it will be soon. I will be able to recognize you soon."
