"No—" Zhao Zhi screamed in terror, her voice filled with despair and helplessness.
"Quick! Gag her!"
Cui Mi was surprised that Zhao Zhi would suddenly shout.
Elsewhere, Cui Shenghe was sound asleep when he was suddenly awakened by a shrill scream.
He vaguely thought he was having a nightmare, but then he realized that the magic circle had been destroyed.
He sat up abruptly, feeling dizzy and a sense of foreboding washed over him.
Cui Shenghe immediately realized that he had been drugged.
Aside from his ruthless aunt Cui Mi, he couldn't think of anyone else who could make him drink tea laced with sleeping pills without warning.
He hurriedly put on his clothes, got out of bed, and went straight to Cui Mi's room.
Sure enough, Cui Mi's room was brightly lit, and shadows were moving around.
His heart tightened, and he pushed the door open abruptly. The sight before him shocked him so much that he could hardly breathe.
"You're a madman!" Cui Shenghe roared.
Upon hearing his voice, Cui Mi's long sword clattered to the ground.
Upon seeing this, the men in black immediately surrounded her, but Cui Mi waved for them to back off. "Don't hurt him," she calmly commanded.
"Brother? Is that you?" Zhao Zhi's voice was weak and trembling as she felt waves of cramping pain in her abdomen.
"Zhizhi, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" Cui Shenghe trembled as he untied the black cloth from Zhao Zhi's face, revealing her pale and terrified face.
He then quickly found a bottle of wound medicine in the room and carefully sprinkled it on Zhao Zhi's bleeding abdominal wound.
"Brother, I...I have a stomachache." Zhao Zhi's eyes were filled with tears, and her voice trembled so much that it was almost inaudible.
"Don't be afraid, Zhizhi, your brother will make sure nothing happens to you."
Cui Shenghe carefully picked up Zhao Zhi and turned to leave Cui Mi's room.
The moment he stepped across the threshold, he whirled around, his gaze piercing Cui Mi like a knife. "Cui Mi, what you did to Zhizhi today, I will make you pay double in the future!"
"Li'er!" Cui Mi shouted angrily from behind him, "I'm your own aunt!"
Cui Shenghe didn't reply to her, and strode away with Zhao Zhi in his arms.
