When they returned to the Spirit Academy, it was already as dark as ink. Commander Jin's residence was dimly lit. Just as Qi Yu was about to go in with him, Xu Shen Shen reached out and stopped her.
“Junior sister, it’s better not to come in. I’m afraid you can’t help but…” Xu Shensheng paused again, as if she had something difficult to say. “Hehe, I’ll go and report to our master first. Senior brother Daming, you stay here and watch over your junior sister. Don’t let her leave first.”
Xu Shensheng's unspoken meaning was that she was afraid that if she entered Commander Jin's room, she would steal things again. Qi Yu remained silent with a cold face.
Zhao Daming stared intently at her, as if afraid she would "flee to escape punishment." "Let me tell you, I am at the fifth level of Qi Refining. You'd better not try anything funny, or spiritual power won't be so discerning."
The room lit up, and a moment later, Xu Shen Shen closed the door and came out with a strange smile on her face.
"Commander Jin has already gone to sleep, so let's not disturb him. However, we'll have to trouble our junior sister to stay in the confinement room for the night. We'll decide what to do tomorrow."
Zhao Daming tied Qi Yu's hands behind her back and forced her towards the solitary confinement cell in the back mountain.
"Let's go, cherish your last night in the Spirit Institute!"
Qi Yu shoved Zhao Daming aside and said coldly, "I can walk by myself. Don't worry, once the truth comes out tomorrow, you won't be able to escape those three laps."
The solitary confinement cell was located in a secluded back mountain, a few rooms standing alone, dark and without a single source of light.
Qi Yu had just stepped inside when the door was slammed shut.
“Junior sister, I will inform the dean and other teachers and disciples. We will confront each other in the main hall tomorrow. Please bear with us tonight.”
"Hmph, it's already merciful of us to let her stay in the Spirit Academy any longer. Once she's kicked out, she'll be left starving!"
After saying that, Xu Shen and Zhao Daming walked away.
A rumbling sound suddenly came from the dimly lit confinement room, and Qi Yu touched her stomach.
After a whole night of this, I hadn't exchanged the money, hadn't eaten, and was so angry and hungry that I felt like destroying the world.
In a fit of despair, she opened the system's online store and quickly bought several food items and clean bedding.
Qi Yu summoned the fire phoenix from within his body, letting it suspend in the air as a lamp. He then spread the bedding on the ground and, without any proper posture, sat down with a hamburger and cola he had bought from the system shop, immersing himself in a bowl of rice.
I've been in this world for six days now. When I was working part-time at a fast food restaurant to pay for my tuition, I was so sick of eating this junk food that I almost threw up. Now I actually miss it a little.
I don't know where the system conjured these things from. The hamburger was still steaming hot, and there were ice cubes in the cola. It tasted a lot like the ones from a certain McDonald's.
The little white bird curiously crawled out of her arms and transformed into a boy.
"What is Xiaoyu eating? I've never seen her eat this before."
Qi Yu glanced at him and saw that he didn't care at all where she had conjured these things from.
"This is called a hamburger, you probably don't have this here. This is cola, it's very good."
Feng Xiao nodded, seemingly understanding, "May I have a bite?"
A hamburger and a Coke together are worth one point. I got five hundred points for saving Feng Xiao.
Qi Yu generously bought another set meal and handed it to Feng Xiao, saying, "Here, have a taste."
Feng Xiao glanced at the hamburger but didn't take it. Instead, she stared at the one that Qi Yu had already taken a bite out of and said, "I want to eat Xiao Yu's."
"They're all the same, neither of them is poisonous. Shall I bite off a piece and let you test if it's poisonous?"
Feng Xiao actually nodded, and Qi Yu speechlessly stuffed the hamburger and cola he had never eaten before into his hands.
"Eat it if you want, don't eat it if you don't."
Feng Xiao glanced at Qi Yu, who was already engrossed in eating, and tentatively took a bite of the fragrant hamburger.
"Delicious!" The boy's phoenix eyes widened, as if he had never tasted anything like this since birth.
Qi Yu quickly finished her portion. She sipped her cola and watched Feng Xiao nibble on his hamburger. For some reason, she felt a little strange.
"Feng Xiao, this seems to be the first time I've ever seen you eat."
Feng Xiao lifted his head from the hamburger paper and slowly swallowed the food in his mouth.
“I don’t need to eat.” He paused, then added, “But I really like this.”
After finishing his cola, Qi Yu closed his eyes, sat on the bedding, and quietly absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, thinking about how to improve his strength so that he could accumulate more points. He had just seen a lot of food in the system shop, and once he had enough points, it wouldn't be a bad idea to buy some to feed Feng Xiao.
It's like having a little pet.
Feng Xiao finished the hamburger, took a sip of cola, and the cold, sweet water exploded in her mouth like firecrackers.
"If this door can't stop Xiaoyu, won't she escape?"
"Why did I run away? It wasn't my doing in the first place, don't try to pin this on me." Qi Yu opened her eyes, cracking her knuckles. "Tomorrow I'm going to give them a good slap in the face!"
Feng Xiao looked at Qi Yu and smiled gently.
As night deepened, Qi Yu nestled in her quilt and gradually fell asleep, with Feng Xiao, who had been forced to transform into a little white bird, sleeping beside her.
Suddenly, several strange noises came from outside the confinement room, and the door was quietly opened a crack, as if something had been let in.
Feng Xiao suddenly opened her eyes, and her jewel-like pupils reflected the true nature of that thing.
A python, as thick as a water bucket, snaked closer, its scarlet tongue flicking out from its gleaming mouth. The scales on its body were multicolored, looking like ghostly faces.
Feng Xiao watched as the giant python silently approached them, its raised head darting left and right before suddenly opening its mouth wide enough to swallow Qi Yu's entire head.
Just as its mouth was about to touch Qi Yu, a hand grabbed the snake's head.
