Chapter 24 Ang Lee's Father

Qi Yu took the phoenix flute, which had transformed into a little white bird, with her and happily set off with Wu Qianqian.

The entrance to Yinhua Market is extremely well hidden, located in the backyard of a restaurant called Dingxianglou.

Before going inside, Wu Qianqian took out two masks and had Qi Yu put them on.

There were several guards at the entrance. Wu Qianqian successfully led Qi Yu in after exchanging secret signals with the guards.

Qi Yu was so captivated by the aroma of the food at Dingxianglou that she almost lost track of Wu Qianqian. She wiped away the non-existent drool from her mouth and thought to herself that she must try the chef's skills at Dingxianglou once she left Yinhua Market. She quickened her pace to catch up with Wu Qianqian.

Upon entering, the scene changes, as if stepping into another space.

This place is very large. Qi Yu had wandered around Wucheng so many times before, but he had never discovered that there was such a place.

She suspected that this was similar to the layout of the Spirit Academy, both using a smokescreen to create a new space in a seemingly ordinary place. Only those with permission could enter this space. The Spirit Academy's pass was a jade pendant, and the pass here must be that secret code.

There were some people dressed in black and wearing silver masks by the roadside. They all had stalls in front of them, with many things that Qi Yu had never seen before.

People came and went on the street, all wearing various masks, chatting as they browsed for items.

"Ang Lee has gone mad? And he's even lost a leg?"

"Just the night before, Qiankun Fort was searching for the escaped demon and the murderer who killed Pharmacist Wang. Li An also went, but he was ambushed while acting alone. He was not discovered until the next day."

"If Li Daogu knew, wouldn't he go crazy?"

"Tsk tsk, Li An's arrogant behavior is a result of his own indulgence. Now he's been punished by some enemy, and he deserves it."

Qi Yu paused, feigning ignorance, and asked Wu Qianqian, "Who is Li An?"

Wu Qianqian replied with a sigh, "He is a disciple of Qiankun Fortress, a disciple of Dingfeng Zhenren. His father, Li Daogu, is an elder of Qiankun Fortress and a powerful Nascent Soul cultivator. Li Daogu had a son late in life and doted on Li An the most. If he were to come out of seclusion and find out that his son had been made to be mentally impaired and had lost a leg, he would probably dig three feet into the ground to find the murderer."

Qi Yu chuckled dryly, "I see."

Help! Ang Lee is such a big shot!

She racked her brains trying to recall if she had left anything suspicious in the alley. If she had been found out, she would have been in deep trouble.

It seems nothing has been missed; we can only hope that the system's dementia pills will work their magic and not let us down.

She changed the subject, saying, "How do we sell these pills? Should we set up a stall here?"

Wu Qianqian chuckled at her idea, her icy expression melting away.

"No need. Setting up a stall requires applying to the owner of Yinhua Market, which is too troublesome, and the items sold may not fetch high prices."

Qi Yu asked, puzzled, "Then how do we sell it?"

"Give it to Yinhua Auction House and let them sell it on your behalf."

At this moment, a powerful voice, imbued with spiritual energy, suddenly rang out:

"The Yinhua Auction House is about to open. Fellow Daoists who wish to participate, please go to the auction house and wait."

Qi Yu and Wu Qianqian followed the crowd toward the auction house.

Wu Qianqian explained, "Yinhua Auction House accepts pills of grade five and above for auction. If you give your pills to the auction house, you will definitely sell more than Duobaoge."

Qi Yu nodded. If it were an auction, she would be facing a bunch of wealthy and powerful cultivators, and it wouldn't be impossible for her to become rich overnight with these pills.

The entrance to Yinhua Auction House was bustling with noise and excitement.

"Entry today requires ten low-grade spirit stones. Those with money, pay up; those without, get out." Several men wearing silver masks stood imposingly at the auction house entrance, collecting entry fees in their storage bags.

Some people complained upon hearing this, "Wasn't it only five low-grade spirit stones before? Why has the price gone up today?"

The guard said, "Today's goods are all rare and good stuff, so it's normal to charge extra. If you can't afford it, then leave."

There were grumblings from the crowd. Just as Wu Qianqian was about to pay for Qi Yu, Qi Yu stopped her.

She thought for a moment and asked a guard, "If I provide items for auction, can the entrance fee be deducted from the spirit stones obtained from the auction?"

The guard sized up Qi Yu for a moment, then looked at Wu Qianqian, and said, "This way, please."

Qi Yu followed the guard into a small room inside an auction house.

"All items need to be inspected first. Our auction house will only accept items that pass the inspection. May I ask what this young lady is looking to sell?"

Qi Yu thought for a moment, then took out a bottle of wound medicine from her system inventory and handed it to the guard.

"I have already tested it in the Flying Star Treasure Pavilion; it is a Grade 3 wound medicine."

The guard took the wound medicine and said, "We still need to test it again. Please wait a moment, young lady."

A short while later, the guard who had taken the wound medicine for appraisal came over, followed by a young man with sword-like eyebrows and bright eyes, dressed in a white robe.

"Is this medicine yours?" The white-robed man, his hair loose, approached hurriedly, clutching the wound medicine in his hand.

Qi Yu nodded: "Yes."

His starry eyes brightened slightly as he asked, "Did you refine this?"

"No, this is a family heirloom," Qi Yu began to make up a story.

The man in white sighed in disappointment, "I thought it would be another Rank 3 alchemist... Oh well."

He said no more and left with a flick of his sleeve.

Qi Yu watched him arrive in a flurry of activity, completely bewildered, and then shake his head and leave with a sigh.

The guard explained, "This is Senior Bai Shu, an alchemist from the Pill Alliance. I thought there was another third-grade alchemist here and wanted to take a look."

Qi Yu nodded in understanding; it seemed that this Master Bai was a fanatic of alchemy.

The guard added, "The admission fee can be waived, but the auction house will take one-tenth of the auction proceeds as commission. Would you accept that, young lady?"
