Chapter 25 is neither clear nor utterly foolish.

With a wave of his hand, the auctioneer displayed a pill in an exquisite box on the auction table.

"This is a Foundation Establishment Pill made by Master Bai Shu, a renowned fourth-grade alchemist in the Pill Alliance. As everyone knows, there is a threshold between Qi Refining and Foundation Establishment. Only those who cross it can be considered true cultivators. Foundation Establishment Pills are an important factor in successfully advancing from Qi Refining to Foundation Establishment. A bad Foundation Establishment Pill might not be enough to establish a foundation, no matter how many you take. But this one—a fourth-grade Foundation Establishment Pill—can greatly increase the chances of successfully establishing a foundation!"

"Starting bid: 1,000 low-grade spirit stones! Bidding increment: 500 low-grade spirit stones!"

A man dressed in coarse cloth clothes raised his sign without hesitation and shouted, "One thousand low-grade spirit stones."

The person was wearing a mask, so his face was not visible, but his clothes were ordinary, so he did not seem to be any important person.

Following closely behind, people kept raising the price.

"Two thousand low-grade spirit stones!"

"Three thousand!"

"Five thousand!"

The man in coarse clothes had a determined glint in his eyes as he raised his paddle again, "Ten thousand low-grade spirit stones."

Ten thousand low-grade spirit stones are equivalent to one high-grade spirit stone. The bidders reluctantly stopped, and the auctioneer announced on the stage: "Ten thousand low-grade spirit stones per bid!"

"Ten thousand times!"

"Ten thousand three times, sold!"

"Congratulations to this fellow cultivator for successfully bidding on the fourth-grade Foundation Establishment Pill from alchemist Bai Shu!"

Qi Yu glanced at the man again, surprised that someone dressed so poorly could be so generous.

None of the following items piqued her interest much, but Wu Qianqian, sitting next to her, bought several magical artifacts and pills, her extravagance leaving Qi Yu speechless.

At this point, the auctioneer on stage began introducing the next item.

"This is a young demon beast that our auction house bought at a high price. Although it looks a bit weak now, it has unlimited potential. The starting bid is 100 low-grade spirit stones."

Qi Yu looked over curiously and saw an iron cage covered with a black cloth next to the auctioneer. He lifted the cloth and saw a small, black creature, no bigger than a palm, huddled trembling in the corner of the cage.

A noisy discussion erupted from the audience.

"What kind of monster is this?"

"It doesn't look very good. The auction house didn't even mention it, so it's probably not a good item."

"It's so small, it looks like it's about to die, and they're still selling it? Only a fool would buy it."

Qi Yu squinted and noticed that the dark beast's fur seemed wet, as if it were stained with blood.

Since the auctioneer couldn't identify what kind of monster it was, no one raised their paddle to bid.

He said awkwardly, "Although I don't know what kind of monster it is, it would be nice to keep it as a spirit pet or battle pet."

The beast whimpered softly a few times, and for some reason, Qi Yu felt a sudden surge of pity in her heart.

It's so tiny; it was probably captured by the auction house as soon as it was born, and its mother was likely killed as well.

Now that nobody wants this monster, and it can't be sold at the auction house, it probably won't be kept for nothing. You can imagine what will happen to it.

One hundred low-grade spirit stones isn't much. Her third-grade wound medicine is worth at least one hundred and fifty mid-grade spirit stones, which is affordable. Buying it is like having another pet, and it can also keep Feng Xiao company.

Just as he was about to raise his paddle to bid, a familiar female voice behind him said disdainfully, "This thing is so ugly, and you're trying to make it a spirit pet? It's embarrassing to take it out."

Qi Yu turned his head and was surprised to find An Rong'er, who had fled in panic the day before. He was astonished that An Rong'er still had the mood to come to Yinhua Auction House.

However, what An Rong'er did was none of her business. Qi Yu held up his sign and announced loudly, "One hundred low-grade spirit stones!"

The auctioneer looked at Qi Yu as if she were a savior and excitedly said, "One hundred low-grade spirit stones! Anyone else want to bid? If no one bids, this beast belongs to this young lady! One hundred low-grade spirit stones once! One hundred low-grade spirit stones twice! One hundred..."

"Wait!" someone suddenly interrupted, "I'll offer 150 low-grade spirit stones!"

Qi Yu turned around silently and met An Rong'er's resentful and hateful gaze.

Fine, so you're deliberately trying to cause trouble, huh? I haven't even gotten revenge on you for almost dying from being backstabbed before.

Looking at An Rong'er's not-so-clear and utterly foolish eyes, Qi Yu suddenly had a plan.

The auctioneer was overjoyed to see someone raise the bid. "One hundred and fifty spirit stones! It seems this demon beast is still quite sought after. Does anyone else want to raise the bid?"

Qi Yu held up the sign, "Two hundred low-grade spirit stones."

An Rong'er followed closely behind, "Two hundred and fifty!"

The auctioneer was overjoyed when the price was increased by fifty to fifty to a thousand low-grade spirit stones.

After thinking for a moment, Qi Yu said directly, "Two thousand low-grade spirit stones!"

An Rong'er continued without hesitation, "Four thousand!"

"Six thousand low-grade spirit stones," Qi Yu said slowly.

"Seven thousand!"

Qi Yu smiled at An Rong'er and said, "Eight thousand."

An Rong'er hesitated for a moment. She had only brought 10,000 low-grade spirit stones with her today, which she originally intended to use to buy another item for her father. If she spent so much money to buy a useless demon beast, she was afraid that her father would scold her when she got back.

She looked ahead at the woman whose face was half-covered, and felt that Qi Yu's slight smile was a provocation to her.

An Rong'er gritted her teeth and shouted, "Nine thousand!"

Seeing her hesitation, Qi Yu knew that An Rong'er's wallet was about to be emptied. He leisurely put down the sign, bowed to An Rong'er, and said, "Since Miss An likes this monster so much, I have no choice but to part with it."

Sitting next to her, Wu Qianqian couldn't help but laugh, "You're really something."

"Oh, not at all, just average."

Although Qi Yu had calculated that An Rong'er wouldn't fall for her provocation, she still decided to keep An Rong'er hanging on until she could cover her losses. Unexpectedly, An Rong'er actually took the bait.
