Chapter 42 The Naïve and Sweet Princess

The man lay on the ground covered in food, groaning and crying out.

"It's a misunderstanding, it's all a misunderstanding, Grandma!"

The manager of Dingxianglou scurried out, but dared not utter a sound upon seeing the scene.

The woman in red frowned, pressing the tip of her spear against the man's throat. "I clearly felt your groping hand touching my waist, and you still dare to deny it?!"

The man stammered as he got up from the ground, forcing a smile as he said, "Really, no, I was just bumped into by someone and accidentally bumped into you, ma'am. Even if I had a few more lives, I wouldn't dare to take advantage of you!"

"Really?" The woman in red looked at him suspiciously.

"Absolutely true!"

The woman in red tilted her head and thought for a moment, as if the person had indeed been bumped into by someone else before touching her.

"Alright then, you can go. I misunderstood you."

Upon hearing this, Qi Yu, who was watching, wrinkled her face like a steamed bun. How could this girl believe that person's words so easily? She's too naive and innocent.

The man, covered in food, slipped away from them, thanking them profusely.

The woman in red retracted her spear, which instantly shrank into a small hairpin about two fingers long with a "click-click-click" sound. She inserted the hairpin into her hair, patted her clothes, and prepared to leave.

Qi Yu stepped forward to stop her, saying, "Miss, you've ruined our food like this, don't you want an explanation?"

The woman in red turned around in confusion, and seeing Qi Yu pointing to the mess on the ground, she readily said, "It's nothing, I'll make it up to you!"

She touched her waist and exclaimed "Ah!"

"Where's my storage bag?!"

Qi Yu: "?"

Dog Egg: "?"

The woman in red realized what was happening, her eyes blazing with fury. She pulled out a small hairpin from her hair, which transformed into a spear, and ran out of Dingxiang Tower with it.

"You bastard, how dare you steal your aunt's things!"

Qi Yu, holding a pair of chopsticks, stood to the side with Gou Dan, watching the elegant figure of the woman in red, then looking down at the ruined food, feeling like crying but having no tears.

The shopkeeper sidled over, wiping the sweat from his brow. "This...this...I'll have the cook make another one for you two."

He called the waiter to clear the table and led Qi Yu and the others to another table.

Unfortunately, Qi Yu had no choice but to wait again, hungry.

The dishes were served again, and just as Qi Yu picked up his chopsticks, a red figure appeared outside Dingxianglou, looking around furtively.

Qi Yu watched warily as the woman in red walked over with a smile, fearing another disastrous outcome.

"Girl, I got my storage bag back. How much were these vegetables? I'll pay you back."

She walked over to Qi Yu's table as if they were old friends, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

Qi Yu's lips twitched. "Just give the money to the shopkeeper directly."

Anyway, she only paid for one meal, so the loss was borne by the owner of Dingxianglou.

The woman in red nodded in realization and found the chubby middle-aged man standing behind the counter.

"Shopkeeper, is this enough money?" She took out a golden crystal and handed it to the shopkeeper.

Qi Yu squinted and saw that it was actually a high-grade spirit stone!

High-grade spirit stones are gold, mid-grade spirit stones are purple, and low-grade spirit stones are white.

This naive girl is surprisingly wealthy; she just threw out a top-grade spirit stone.

The shopkeeper could tell that the woman in red was either rich or noble, and honestly said, "Miss, you've given too much. The dishes on that table only cost a few taels of silver. Do you have any smaller portions?"

Upon hearing this, the woman in red rummaged through her storage bag for a while and pulled out a purple spirit stone. "Will this work?"

The shopkeeper readily agreed, "Alright, alright, I'll give you the change right away."

"Keep the change. Bring a few more dishes, and consider the rest as compensation for disturbing your business."

The woman in red waved her hand and returned to Qi Yu's table, saying without any politeness, "Bring me another set of chopsticks and a bowl."

Under the manager's direction, the waiter quickly brought over the bowls and chopsticks, and soon served some quick dishes that had been prepared in the kitchen.

Qi Yu watched speechlessly as she picked up her bowl and chopsticks and started eating.

"I'm starving..." The woman in red ate quickly, but her manners were refined and elegant, as if her nobility was ingrained in her bones. She swallowed the food in her mouth and then smiled and said, "My name is Zhu Yu. What are your names?"

Looking at Zhu Yu's smiling face, Qi Yu also smiled and said, "My name is Qi Yu."

Dog Egg whispered the name "Dog Egg".

Zhu Yu quickly ate some food to fill her stomach, then looked at Gou Dan and laughed, "Your name is quite interesting."

Dog Egg smiled and continued eating.

He was hesitant to speak, after all, Zhu Yu's experience was very similar to his first encounter with Qi Yu. He felt a little guilty and ashamed, afraid that Qi Yu would recall their less-than-pleasant first meeting.

Qi Yu glanced at Zhu Yu, then looked at the crimson headband Zhu Yu was wearing, and began to make a guess.

She tentatively asked, "Is your surname Zhu, the same Zhu as in the Vermilion Bird?"

Zhu Yu choked, her blinking eyes darting left and right, and said, "You misheard, my surname is actually Zhu."

Qi Yu: "..."

Okay, no need to guess anymore. Judging from the reaction, it's a done deal now.

His surname is Zhu, and he wears a headband similar in style to Zhu Que's. He is also incredibly wealthy yet naive.

Zhu Yu must also be a member of the royal family of the Vermilion Bird Kingdom.

Zhu Yu picked up another piece of meat with her chopsticks in frustration and said, "Since you already know, I won't pretend anymore."

"Actually, I am the third princess of the Vermilion Bird Kingdom. I ran away secretly this time. If anyone looks for me, don't tell them where I am."

Qi Yu glanced silently at Zhu Yu's flamboyant attire, thinking to herself that if anyone really wanted to find her, they would be able to catch her easily.
