Chapter 52 "Senior Brother, Shall we continue?"

The two walked towards the central martial arts arena from different directions.

Lai Pi drew his sword; his previous sword had been swallowed by Qi Yu with spiritual fire, so this time he had a new one.

Qi Yu gave him a perfunctory clasped-fist salute, then raised his sword and slashed.

Lai Pi raised his sword to parry, and said with a smile, "Junior sister, you've made quite a bit of progress lately."

"Just enough to knock you down!" Qi Yu's moves didn't stop, raining down like a shower.

Both men were top-notch swordsmen. Lai Pi had mastered half of the sword intent, while Qi Yu practiced the immortal-grade sword manual "Jade Carving Sword Technique." On the martial arts stage, the swords flashed and the two were evenly matched for a time.

In the corner, Xu Shen clenched her fists, watching the two fighting on the stage without blinking.

Xu Lanyue, standing to the side, glanced at her, pondered for a moment, then walked over, pried open her fist, placed a warm pastry inside, and said softly:

"Shen Shen, you must be tired from the sword fight. Have some mung bean cake. You loved this mung bean cake when you were little, so I made it especially for you."

Xu Shen Shen crushed the mung bean cake with a punch and said impatiently, "Sister, can you stop thinking about these things all day long? We cultivators will have to abstain from grains sooner or later. What's the use of you making these things? You should use this time to cultivate."

"You, our family only needs one fairy like you. I don't have any great ambitions. It would be good if I could just grow old naturally." Xu Lanyue lowered her head, took out a handkerchief, and carefully wiped Xu Shen's hands clean. She added, "If you become a great figure in the cultivation world like your senior brother Mu Luo, I will be content."

She turned her gaze to Mu Luo, who was looking at her with concern not far away, and smiled slightly.

"You must become a kind person that your sister can be proud of."

Xu Shen frowned deeply. "Why are you saying all this now? Listen to me, cultivate more. I don't want you to be an old woman by the time I've achieved success in my cultivation."

Xu Lanyue smiled and took out another piece of mung bean cake, stuffing it into Xu Shen Shen's mouth. "What's wrong with being an old woman? Didn't Granny Chen raise us two sisters? I also want to take in a few children to raise when I become an old woman, preferably like you, Shen Shen."

Xu Shen Shen choked on the mung bean cake and stopped arguing with Xu Lan Yue. She turned around and continued to watch Qi Yu and Lai Pi on the stage.

The sun was already setting in the west, and the sky was gradually darkening.

The two on stage were locked in a fierce battle, neither giving an inch, and both sustained minor injuries, yet neither was willing to reveal a weakness.

Qi Yu's stamina was already starting to wane; his back was soaked with sweat, and beads of sweat kept appearing on his forehead.

No, dragging this out any longer will definitely be detrimental to her.

Qi Yu soared into the air, her blue robes fluttering in the breeze. The Compassionate Sword in her hand shone with a soft, yet dazzling, moonlight.

She unleashed the final move of the Jade Carving Sword Technique—"Shattered Jade Throwing Pearls"—her longsword flashing, the sword light like large and small pearls falling onto a jade plate, all shooting towards Lai Pi, faintly conveying the intent of the sword.

Lai Pi's pupils shrank sharply. The sword seemed to be shooting from countless directions, forming an encirclement that left him with no way to dodge.

He kept swinging his longsword, knocking the other swords away, only to find that as soon as one sword fell, another would rise.

It's an illusion!

"Ha! Trying to fool me!"

Lai Pi ignored the swords, leaped into the air, and released his longsword, which transformed into a streak of light as it spun straight for Qi Yu's heart.

No one can stop his sword intent!

With a "thud," came the sound of a sharp weapon piercing flesh.

Just as Lai Pi was about to reveal a smug smile, a sharp pain in his chest made his eyes widen.

He looked down in disbelief at the bloody hole in his chest.

"H-How is this possible..."

He clearly stabbed Qi Yu...

How could his sword intent fail!

Qi Yu stood behind him, still a little out of breath. She had just made a desperate gamble, using the last move of the Jade Carving Sword Technique, which had exhausted a great deal of her spiritual power. If she couldn't defeat Lai Pi with this move, she was afraid she would run out of energy.

Thankfully, it was a success.

Qi Yu's hands were still trembling slightly. She gripped her sword and walked step by step toward Lai Pi, who was kneeling on the ground.

"Senior brother, shall we continue?"

The pain from the sword wound tormented Lai Pi, and the sight of Qi Yu's sweaty face amidst his disheveled hair made him tremble all over.

How could this be!

Hua Nongying, who was watching the battle, frowned, flew onto the martial arts stage, took out a pill, and forcefully stuffed it into Lai Pi's mouth.

Lai Pi coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood and felt a little dizzy.

The healing pills that Hua Nongying gave him were of a very high grade, and they immediately stopped the bleeding from Lai Pi's wound.

Lai Pi was no longer able to fight, and the outcome was obvious.

Hua Nongying took Qi Yu's hand and said loudly:

"I hereby declare Qi Yu the victor in this sword-fighting tournament!"

Lai Pi wanted to say something more, but his throat seemed to be blocked by something, and he couldn't say anything.

The matter is settled.

The disciples below the stage were silent as cicadas in winter, not daring to utter a sound.

The move "Shattered Jade Throwing Pearls" that Qi Yu had just used had completely stunned everyone, and the fact that Lai Pi had controlled his sword and injured himself was even more unbelievable.

Qi Yu raised his sleeve, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and bowed to the disciples below the stage.

"Thank you, I won."

She grinned, revealing an irrepressible smile.

"Your spirit stones are mine now."

The disciples suddenly erupted in screams.

Qi Yu won!

"Ah!! My spirit stones!!"

"Did you guys see that move?! It was so cool!!"

"Qi Yu is amazing!!!"

Zhu Yu, who was in the distance, jumped up excitedly, "I knew it! Sister Qi Yu could do it!"

Zhu Que looked at the girl with a radiant smile on the martial arts stage and curled the corners of his lips.
