Chapter 62 "My wish in this life has been fulfilled, in the next life..."

Inside the courtyard, the monster locked in the cage had given up resisting, its eyes closed and lifeless as it huddled in the corner of the cage, muttering incomprehensible words.

A dark shadow slowly approached the cage, step by step.

Hiding in the shadows, Qi Yu held his breath, gripping the chain he had taken from the Netherworld Cold Pool, his eyes fixed on the dark figure.

The figure was dressed in black, masked, moved lightly, and was petite; it was clearly a woman.

The man in black reached into the cage with trembling hands, seemingly unsure of what he was about to do.

Just as the black-clad man's hands were about to touch the demon, the bright light from the illumination artifact suddenly shone!

A chain shot out swiftly like lightning, binding the man in black.

Qi Yu jumped out from the shadows, rushed towards the man in black, and ripped off the black cloth covering his face.

A delicate yet aloof young girl's face appeared, looking back with resentment.

Qi Yu said in disbelief:

"flourishing?!"

This woman dressed in black and behaving strangely was none other than Wu Qianqian!

Wu Rouwan and several other division commanders also walked out of the room.

"Qianqian, it's you! What are you doing here?"

They had been waiting here for a long time, but they never expected that this uninvited guest would be Wu Qianqian.

"What am I here for?" Wu Qianqian's upper body was bound by iron chains and she could not move. Her face was cold, and she said with a smirk, "Naturally, I'm here to slay demons and eliminate evil."

"You..." Qi Yu pulled out a handful of hair in frustration. "I originally planned to put the low-level demons here to lure them out of their hole and capture the mid-level demon leader who was disguised as a disciple. Why did you do this to me?"

"What?" Wu Qianqian was stunned. "Luring the snake out of its hole?"

Wu Rouwan said helplessly, "Qianqian, I know you hate demons to the bone, but we are not killing this demon directly now because of other considerations."

Qi Yu explained, "Since this mid-level demon brought those low-level demons to the Spirit Academy, it proves that there is some connection between them. At the very least, it won't just sit idly by and watch its subordinates be captured by us. Now that the demon is imprisoned here, it can easily rescue it. That's why we're waiting here for it to come to us."

She put the chains binding Wu Qianqian back into her system inventory and sighed, "It's a pity that I didn't get to see a mid-level demon, but I did get to see you."

Wu Qianqian was no fool; her mind, which had been clouded by hatred, had now completely cleared.

She stood up somewhat helplessly, looking at the several teachers who looked exhausted, and Qi Yu, whose eyes were clearly still open and slightly dark, and a sense of regret welled up in her heart.

"I'm sorry, it was an impulsive act." Wu Qianqian turned to look at the monster in the cage, suppressing her disgust. "I shouldn't have acted on my own and ruined your plans."

The monster's ugly face stared menacingly at Wu Qianqian, its mouth gaping wide in a defiant manner, as if it wanted to devour her whole.

Wu Qianqian clenched her fists, "Dirty monsters..."

Seeing that Wu Qianqian was about to be provoked, the demon opened its mouth even wider, and you could almost see the soft flesh of its mouth trembling.

Qi Yu sighed, about to pull Wu Qianqian away from the demon.

The next second, a whooshing sound suddenly rang out—

A sharp arrow shot out swiftly, with a piece of yellow paper attached to the arrowhead. It struck the monster's throat directly, piercing it through!

The group was shocked to see the monster howling in pain, blood gushing from its throat.

Suddenly, a purple-blue light appeared inside the monster's throat.

Upon seeing the light, Commander Lin exclaimed in alarm, "Be careful! It's an explosive talisman!"

"boom!"

A loud bang erupted from inside the cage. Commander Lin reacted quickly and used a defensive magic artifact to shield the people around the cage, thus preventing them from being affected by the blast wave.

Qi Yu's pupils dilated as she stared at the cage in shock.

At this point, the monster in the cage had been blown to pieces and had no chance of survival.

She turned her head sharply in the direction from which the arrow had come, and a figure dressed in white slowly walked out.

"Mu Xi..."

Mu Xi was dressed in a simple white dress, holding a longbow and carrying a quiver of arrows. She wore the silver hairpin left by Ya'er in her hair, one foot was bare, and the other foot was wearing Ya'er's embroidered shoe.

Her bloodshot eyes slowly slid over the varied expressions on Qi Yu and the others' faces, then fixed her gaze on the remnants of the demon in the cage, her eyelashes drooping slightly.

"Ya'er, I've avenged you..." she whispered, as if speaking to the shy girl, "In this world, true friends are hard to find, and confidants are even harder to come by. You're gone, what am I going to do now..."

The others noticed that something was wrong with Mu Xi. Qi Yu tentatively took a few steps closer to her and asked hesitantly, "Mu Xi, are you... are you alright?"

Mu Xi's lips curled up almost imperceptibly, "Good, how could it be bad? I'm avenging my confidant, how could it be bad? It's simply..."

"Absolutely wonderful."

"I know you have other considerations for not killing monsters, such as for the safety of more people, but what does that have to do with me?"

"There is nothing left in this world for me to cherish, so what do other people have to do with me?"

"It was my fault that I almost hurt you, but I can't make it up to you anymore..."

"My wish in this life has been fulfilled; may I live on in the next..."

With lightning speed, she drew an arrow from her quiver and plunged it into her heart.

This arrow was fired with tremendous force, almost as if the person was determined to die.

Qi Yu instinctively took a few steps to rush over, but was held back tightly by Wu Qianqian.

"Don't go! Her arrows have explosive tags on them!"

Time seemed to stand still, everything slowed down to an extreme. Qi Yu's blood seemed to freeze, and he stared unblinkingly at the smiling girl in white.
