The entire room was silent.
Song Xizhi could only hear his own heart pounding.
She never imagined that all of her master's actions were for her sake, to clear her name of all the stigma.
Even though they all knew that the stigma was completely unfounded, and Song Xizhi didn't care at all, her master still did it.
Song Xizhi took a deep breath, slowly raised his head, and tried to hold back the tears in his eyes.
Old Madam Huang blushed after hearing what the divine doctor from Japan said.
She uncontrollably fell off the chair, and Huang's descendants rushed forward to help her up, gritting their teeth and staring intently at the face of the divine physician Rihua.
"How dare you!"
"You charlatan, you're nothing but a swindler! You deliberately deceived our Lady and tried to harm her health. What is your crime?"
The Divine Physician Rihua merely lowered his eyelashes, his voice devoid of emotion, as if he were looking at a tiny ant:
"I am treating her. If you have any objections, please fetch a doctor to examine her properly and see if her condition improves."
Her words carried absolute certainty, silencing those who had questioned her.
The elders of the Huang clan exchanged a furious glance and then prepared to leave.
But Song Xizhi stepped forward at this moment. She blocked the way of the Divine Physician Rihua and spoke in a calm tone, just like the Divine Physician Rihua.
"Now that your matriarch's health has improved and she is in good spirits, it should not be difficult for her to offer a bow and admit her mistake."
“Just now, she kept saying that her rank was higher than mine, and that a vice-presiding judge was nothing. Now, I am a princess personally appointed by His Majesty.”
Song Xizhi looked directly into their eyes, speaking each word with conviction, yet without any sense of aggression or bullying; her tone was remarkably calm.
"In that case, please bow and apologize to my master!"
"After all, my master treated her without holding a grudge. It shouldn't be difficult for him to pay his respects to his savior, right?"
Since her rebirth, she has endured too many cold looks and too much bullying. Song Xizhi originally thought she could endure anything.
But she now realizes that's not the case.
Her master came down the mountain because of her. She could have enjoyed a free life on the mountain where she could command a large following, but now she had to live in a small courtyard in the Marquis of Anding's mansion.
How could Song Xizhi tolerate others wantonly bullying her master?
Her words had barely left her lips when the entire audience was once again stunned.
The Divine Physician Rihua turned her head in surprise, looking at Song Xizhi's fair face, who stood in front of her like a mother hen protecting her chicks, her expression full of surprise.
She frowned slightly, and her eyes seemed to glisten with a hint of moisture.
Song Xizhi felt her gaze, and simply turned his head slowly, giving her a smile.
Looking at her smiling face, the divine physician Rihua suddenly found his own eyes welling up with tears.
Upon hearing this, the Huang family members all wore expressions of anger that they dared not express. Even the old lady, who was slumped in her chair, stared wide-eyed at Song Xizhi in disbelief.
She thought that the Divine Physician Rihua was dissatisfied with what she had just done and had vented his anger with the silver needles, but she did not expect Song Xizhi to be so unreasonable.
Should she apologize to the renowned physician Rihua?
How could that be!
Doesn't she know her own limitations? Can she withstand her kneeling like that?
But Song Xizhi remained staring at her silently, his face expressionless, and his gaze sent a chill down the spine of Old Madam Huang.
With a sudden burst of strength, Old Madam Huang struck the floor with her cane, making several thuds before abruptly standing up from her seat.
She stared intently in the direction of the Marquis of Anding, speaking each word clearly, her tone seemingly carrying a hint of threat:
"If you want me to bow, fine, but make an old woman kneel before a young one. If you want to divorce me, then just do it. I have suffered such humiliation today, and I, Huang, have nothing more to do with you! We need not associate with each other in the future!"
Marquis An Ding frowned slightly, actually somewhat dissatisfied with the arrogant and domineering behavior of Old Madam Huang.
He used to show her some courtesy because of her age, but he didn't want to see her act crazy and idiotic in his own mansion, insulting both his mother and his daughter-in-law.
"You wronged the divine physician before, so there's no need for formalities, but you should at least apologize..."
"As for Huang's matter, I am divorcing her, which is her own fault. Su Yi is still my secondary wife and still a member of the Huang family. What are you trying to threaten me by saying that we will no longer have any contact?"
Old Madam Huang choked abruptly, not expecting the Marquis of Anding to become so assertive. She felt a little embarrassed and raised her eyebrows again.
"Fine, fine, so you're going to be this ruthless, is that it?"
Before Old Madam Huang could finish speaking, a clear and gentle voice rang in her ears, a voice as warm and soothing as a spring breeze in March:
"Alright then, for my sake, there's no need for you to bow and apologize... After all, the old lady is already old and in poor health..."
After saying this, He Jingyan coughed lightly, clutching his chest.
As soon as he finished speaking, Song Xizhi turned to look at him with some surprise.
The Divine Physician Rihua frowned slightly and turned to look at He Jingyan behind him.
Looking at his pale face, if he hadn't suddenly spoken up, the Divine Physician Rihua would have almost forgotten that he had been here all along.
