Chapter 39 You've Grown Up, Let Me Get in Your Bed Tonight
Yin Lisheng, Song Wenzhuo, and Gu Zhinan hurried towards Tingxue Peak, their hearts filled with anxiety.
Throughout the journey, Yin Lisheng's heart pounded so hard it felt like it was about to burst out of his chest. The harrowing scene of Fu Yunshu falling straight down kept replaying in his mind, and cold sweat had already soaked his palms.
"Master... Master..." Yin Lisheng's lips trembled slightly as he murmured to himself, overwhelmed by self-blame and worry.
Song Wenzhuo and Gu Zhinan both had solemn expressions, as if covered with a layer of frost. Song Wenzhuo, in particular, was deathly pale, as if he had been struck by a bolt from the blue.
The three finally arrived at the bamboo house. Yin Lisheng was extremely anxious and rushed inside almost recklessly. However, the scene before them made them freeze in place, stunned.
Fu Yunshu sat upright on the bed, holding a cup of hot tea steadily in his hands. His expression was calm and serene. Although his face was still somewhat pale and sickly, his mental state seemed to have recovered a lot.
"Master!" Yin Lisheng's eyes welled up with tears, and he almost rushed over. His voice was full of relief and fear after surviving the ordeal. "Are you... are you alright?" Fu Yunshu slowly raised his head and looked at him with a gentle smile in his eyes. He reassured him, "I'm fine. It was just an accident. I'll be fine after a rest."
Yin Lisheng refused to believe it. He gripped Fu Yunshu's hands tightly, his palms sweating with nervousness, his voice trembling uncontrollably: "Master, don't lie to me... You clearly fainted just now, how can you be alright? Is it because of me... because you helped me resolve the lightning tribulation when I was establishing my foundation, that's why..."
Fu Yunshu gently patted the back of his hand, her movements soft as if soothing a frightened fawn: "Don't overthink it. A Foundation Establishment stage lightning tribulation wouldn't have injured me. I just recently had some enlightenment in my cultivation and overused my spiritual energy, which is why I accidentally fainted."
Song Wenzhuo and Gu Zhinan also slowly walked over, having already tried their best to regain their usual calm and composed demeanor.
“Grandmaster Uncle,” Song Wenzhuo said with concern, “I’ve called Junior Sister Ning. Let’s wait for her to arrive so she can take a look at you.”
Fu Yunshu gently shook his head: "No need. I know my own body. It's nothing serious. Don't call Xiao Ning over."
Gu Zhinan frowned slightly, his brows furrowing into a deep frown: "Grandmaster Uncle, you just fainted. It would be better to have Ning Xuexi come and check on you."
Fu Yunshu smiled and said, "Don't worry, I'm really fine. I just need to rest for a bit."
Song Wenzhuo and Gu Zhinan exchanged a glance, both harboring deep doubts in their eyes. However, seeing Fu Yunshu's resolute attitude, they did not say anything more.
Song Wenzhuo nodded respectfully, "Then please rest well, Grandmaster Uncle. If you feel unwell, please let us know immediately."
Fu Yunshu nodded: "Okay, you two go ahead and get busy, you don't need to stay here all the time."
Song Wenzhuo and Gu Zhinan responded and turned to leave the bamboo house.
As soon as they stepped outside, Song Wenzhuo swayed and leaned unsteadily against Gu Zhinan.
Gu Zhinan frowned, his eyes filled with worry and doubt: "What exactly happened? Although we are all worried about Grandmaster Uncle fainting, I feel that you are acting a little strangely nervous."
Song Wenzhuo slowly closed his eyes, his face full of exhaustion and helplessness: "I'll have to trouble you and Wen Xun to keep an eye on Qingyuan Sect for a while. I need to go to Tianji Pavilion to see Lu Yanci."
Gu Zhinan looked at him silently, his gaze deep.
“Song Wenzhuo,” he said solemnly, “you are the sect leader of Qingyuan Sect, but you don’t need to push yourself too hard. We are here for you. Some things are not your responsibility alone. You can tell us.”
"You?" Song Wenzhuo turned his head away, scoffing with a bitter and self-deprecating laugh. "How many times have you come back over the years? What have you done for the sect? Gu Yuan, you are the least qualified person to say that!"
Song Wenzhuo turned around and strode away, leaving Gu Zhinan standing there blankly, watching his departing figure.
Was he crying just now?
After a long pause, Gu Zhinan slowly clenched his fist, his knuckles turning white from the force, thinking to himself: I was wrong all these years...
Inside the room, Yin Lisheng's eyes were already brimming with tears, like a dam about to burst. He lowered his head, his voice choked with sobs: "Master, it's all my fault... If I hadn't been too weak, you wouldn't have been injured from overusing your spiritual power to help me withstand the tribulation... I... I'm so useless..."
Seeing this, Fu Yunshu felt a pang of sadness. He reached out and gently patted Yin Lisheng's head, his movements tender: "Silly child, you've done very well. It has nothing to do with you."
Yin Lisheng kept her head down, tears streaming uncontrollably down her face, splashing onto the ground.
He gripped Fu Yunshu's sleeve tightly, his voice so low it was almost inaudible: "But...but I don't want Master to get hurt because of me...I don't want to be a burden to Master..."
Fu Yunshu sighed softly, his sigh filled with tenderness. He reached out and pulled Yin Lisheng into his arms, gently patting his back to comfort him: "Lisheng, you are not a burden to me. You are my disciple, one of the most important people in my life."
Yin Lisheng leaned against Fu Yunshu's chest, tears finally overflowing and soaking Fu Yunshu's clothes. He held Fu Yunshu tightly, his voice choked with sobs, like a wounded animal: "Shizun... I... I will definitely become stronger... strong enough that you don't need to worry about me... strong enough to protect you..."
Fu Yunshu smiled gently, her tone tinged with relief: "Alright, I'll wait for that day."
After crying his fill, Yin Lisheng cheered up. Now, the most important thing was to take good care of his master.
"Master, please rest first. I'll go cook some porridge for you." Yin Lisheng stood up. Fu Yunshu raised an eyebrow in confusion: "Where did Tingxuefeng get a kitchen? And why do you know how to cook porridge?"
Yin Lisheng chuckled twice, his smile carrying a hint of playfulness and pride: "I secretly learned this recently. I asked Qiu Nan to exchange the utensils with Brother Huai Mu. Cooking porridge is very simple and doesn't require much space."
Fu Yunshu nodded, thinking to himself that since Yin Lisheng liked it, he should have someone build a kitchen for him later.
"Okay, thank you for your hard work."
Yin Lisheng shook his head: "It's not hard work, Master, please get some rest."
After saying that, he turned and left the room with light steps.
After Yin Lisheng left, Fu Yunshu's smile gradually disappeared. He looked down at his palm, a complex expression flashing in his eyes.
"Hanqi," Fu Yunshu called softly.
The little white cat leaped gracefully from the corner like a white lightning bolt, landing on Fu Yunshu's lap. It looked up at him, its eyes filled with worry: "Are you really alright?"
Fu Yunshu gently rubbed the little white cat's head, her movements as tender as if she were caressing a precious treasure, and said calmly, "I'm fine, I just used up too much spiritual energy in my sea of consciousness and I'm a little tired."
The little white cat rubbed against his palm affectionately, its tone tinged with dissatisfaction, like a spoiled child: "Why didn't you tell Yin Lisheng the truth just now? He was so worried about you. If he knew the truth, he might have been able to help."
Fu Yunshu shook her head, her hair swaying gently with the movement. "Why tell him this? This is my own business. There's no need to put pressure on him. Besides, he's just a child. What can he do even if he knows?"
The little white cat sighed, its sigh filled with helplessness: "You're always like this, carrying everything on your own."
Fu Yunshu smiled and said, "I'm used to it, but at least this time it's a good thing."
"Perhaps, this time I really have a chance to break the seal of Heaven."
The little white cat jumped onto his shoulder and lay there quietly without saying a word, only gently rubbing against his cheek, as if giving him silent support.
Just then, Yin Lisheng walked in carrying a steaming bowl of porridge, the aroma of which filled the entire room. He carefully placed the porridge in front of Fu Yunshu, his tone filled with concern: "Master, please drink some porridge while it's hot."
Fu Yunshu smiled, reached out and took the bowl of porridge, and took a sip with graceful movements.
The porridge had a simple flavor and didn't use any rare ingredients, yet Fu Yunshu tasted a warm feeling in it.
"Li Sheng, thank you," Fu Yunshu said softly.
Yin Lisheng was taken aback for a moment, then shook his head, his attitude humble and sincere: "Master, you don't need to thank me, this is what I should do."
Fu Yunshu's eyes showed a hint of relief: "Okay, I understand."
Yin Lisheng stood aside, quietly watching Fu Yunshu drink the porridge spoonful by spoonful, his heart filled with joy.
He secretly resolved to cultivate even harder and never let his master get hurt again.
After finishing the porridge, Fu Yunshu took the handkerchief handed to her by Yin Lisheng, gently wiped the corner of her mouth, and then looked at Yin Lisheng.
"Separation from sound".
"What are your instructions, Master?" Yin Lisheng leaned closer, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
“Now that you’ve reached the Foundation Establishment stage,” Fu Yunshu smiled innocently, “it’s time to roll up your sleeves.”
"Huh?" Yin Lisheng looked blank, his eyes full of doubt.
At this time, Yin Lisheng did not understand the meaning of "scroll". He did not know that his master had tailored a cultivation plan for him. However, it was Fu Yunshu himself who was shocked in the end.
Because Yin Lisheng was even more eccentric than he had imagined! Was he an iron man, or did he never need to sleep?
Thus, amidst Fu Yunshu's repeated shocks, ten years passed in the blink of an eye.
Yin Lisheng has grown from that innocent child into a handsome and extraordinary young man.
Over the past decade, Yin Lisheng has devoted almost all his time to cultivation. He not only completed all the plans set by Fu Yunshu, but also often exceeded expectations.
Whenever Fu Yunshu thought he had reached his limit, Yin Lisheng would always grit his teeth and persevere in breaking through his own limits. Fu Yunshu had gradually gone from being shocked at the beginning to becoming numb later on.
This kid is really pushing himself to the limit; sometimes when you tell him to stop, he won't stop!
"Master, I have finished practicing today's sword techniques." Yin Lisheng sheathed his sword with swift and decisive movements, then looked up at Fu Yunshu.
After ten years of cultivation, Yin Lisheng had completely shed his childishness. He was tall and slender, like an evergreen pine or cypress. His black robe fluttered in the wind, and his eyes were as black as ink, deep and mysterious. His black hair was tied up high with a white jade hairpin, and a few strands of hair fell beside his cheeks, adding a touch of unruliness to his appearance.
The shadow of the child from the past is hard to find; in its place stands a spirited and vigorous young man.
Fu Yunshu stood to the side, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes, like the warm sunshine of spring: "Not bad, half an hour faster than yesterday."
He walked over, wrapped his arms around Fu Yunshu's face from behind, and gently rubbed his chin against Fu Yunshu's shoulder, his actions as affectionate as a kitten being spoiled.
"This is all thanks to Master's guidance."
Fu Yunshu patted Yin Lisheng's head gently, with a hint of doting: "You are eighteen years old now, and you will be of legal age in two years. You are already taller than me and are an adult. Why do you still cling to me like you did when you were a child?"
Yin Lisheng tightened his grip on her waist, as if asserting some kind of ownership: "I will always be a child in Master's eyes. Does Master dislike me? Lisheng is going to be sad."
Fu Yunshu shook his head with amusement: "You're being cheeky again, just because I won't scold you, huh?"
Yin Lisheng whined and refused to let go, like a spoiled child.
When Fu Yunshu got down to business, his expression became serious: "Now that you have reached the Great Perfection of Foundation Establishment, it is more important for you to go down the mountain and gain experience than to just stay in the mountains to cultivate. It is time for you to go out and explore."
Yin Lisheng's expression darkened, and the light in his eyes dimmed instantly: "Is Master sending me away?"
Fu Yunshu patted the back of his hand gently: "You know that's not what I meant. Qingyuan Sect disciples have always had to go down the mountain to go on missions and gain experience. Qiu Nan and the others have gone on many long trips. It's just that you like to stay by your master's side all day long."
"That's because my master spoils me," Yin Lisheng retorted, but he also knew it was time for him to go down the mountain, otherwise he would not be able to break through.
But this didn't stop Yin Lisheng from trying to take the opportunity to gain some benefits for himself. "Master, don't be angry, I'll go down the mountain tomorrow,"
Yin Lisheng tugged at Fu Yunshu's sleeve and acted like a child begging for candy, "But Master, can you grant me one request?"
"What is it?" Fu Yunshu asked, his eyes filled with curiosity.
"Let me into your bed tonight."
