Chapter 4 Memories of Sleeping with You
Thick black fog blotted out the sky, and blood energy swirled around him. Yin Lisheng looked around in confusion, but unfortunately, it was pitch black, and he had no idea where he was.
"Caw—caw—" A shrill, hoarse caw rang out from behind. Yin Lisheng turned around abruptly and ran toward the source of the sound, but found nothing.
He shouted sternly, "Who's playing tricks? Show yourself!"
No one responded; gradually, mournful and piercing screams rose from all around.
"Ah—help me, help me!"
"Please don't kill me, please, spare me!"
"Hahahaha, let them go? We haven't avenged our long-standing feud with the Yin family yet! Today, you will all die here!"
The child's cries, the woman's screams, the man's wails, and those two demonic voices all mingled together, transforming into a sharp sword that pierced towards Yin Lisheng.
He collapsed, clutching his head and curling up in despair, tears blurring his vision.
"No—no—"
Yin Lisheng wanted to stand up, to tear the owners of those two voices to pieces, and to stop this tragedy from happening. But he was too weak; he was just a seven-year-old child who hadn't even begun his cultivation yet, and there was nothing he could do.
"Calm your mind; those are just illusions." A clear and calm voice rang out, dispelling the gloom in this eerie and strange environment like the blazing sun.
The surrounding black mist began to dissipate, and the sound gradually weakened until it disappeared.
Yin Lisheng suddenly opened his eyes and saw a fair and slender hand with distinct joints, as smooth and translucent as white jade.
"He's awake." Fu Yunshu withdrew his hand from Yin Lisheng's forehead to take her temperature.
Yin Lisheng's gaze followed his movements to Fu Yunshu's face. Seeing this ordinary face, Yin Lisheng felt a sense of disconnect for some reason. He felt that the owner of these hands should not be ordinary.
"Li Sheng, are you alright?" Qiu Nan asked with concern.
Yin Lisheng then realized there were other people beside him. He shook his head at the two of them and said, "It's nothing, I just had a nightmare. Where is this?"
"In a private room on the main peak," Fu Yunshu said.
Yin Lisheng struggled to get up: "Then now..."
Fu Yunshu pressed the person back down and said helplessly, "Rest well. Just now, Sect Leader Song sent someone to tell us not to overthink it. It's nothing serious. Focus on preparing for the entrance exam."
Upon hearing this, a hint of disappointment flashed in Yin Lisheng's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure: "I understand, thank you."
This is how it should be; there's nothing to be sad about.
After Yin Lisheng regained his strength, Ye Xiuzhu used a spirit boat to take the three of them to Huayang Academy, a place of accommodation specially provided for new disciples who were participating in the entrance examination.
Just as the three of them were seeing Ye Xiuzhu off in front of Huayang Academy, an untimely voice rang out.
"Oh, who do we have here? Aren't these the two little beggars and the penniless fellow?" It was the richly dressed young man who had made things difficult for Yin Lisheng while they were queuing. Not only were the same young men with him, but now there were several more, all bowing and scraping to the richly dressed young man.
Yin Lisheng and his companions originally didn't want to pay attention to these clowns and planned to go around them and enter.
Unexpectedly, the young man in brocade robes became enraged upon seeing their behavior. He gave a signal, and several newly recruited henchmen instantly stepped in front of Fu Yunshu.
"Halt! Our young master Pan is asking you a question. Are all three of you mute?"
Qiu Nan glared angrily at the elegantly dressed youth: "Don't push your luck!"
The elegantly dressed youth curled his lip in disdain and sneered, "I just don't like you guys, and I want to bully you. What can you do about it?"
After he finished speaking, he slowly circled around the three of them a few times. When he passed Yin Lisheng, he frowned in disgust and waved his hand in front of his nose a few times, as if to fan away some dirt.
Even Fu Yunshu's face turned cold at this moment, and his voice was as cold as ice: "Young master, don't go too far in your actions. This is the Qingyuan Sect."
The sycophants around the elegantly dressed young man seemed to have some reservations because of those words, and tugged at his sleeve.
"Young Master Pan, this..."
"What are you afraid of?" The richly dressed young man impatiently pulled his sleeve out of the lackey's hand and looked at Fu Yunshu defiantly. "I am Pan Tianlei, the young sect master of the Thousand Blade Sect. Do you think I'm afraid of offending a few disciples who haven't even entered the Qingyuan Sect?"
After finishing speaking, Pan Tianlei looked Yin Lisheng and the other two up and down: "I thought you were so capable that you could be taken away by Peak Master Ye, but you still came back in a sorry state. It makes sense, how could Peak Master Ye possibly look at such a beggar?"
After he finished speaking, he immediately burst into laughter with the few lackeys behind him, their laughter filled with arrogance and belittling.
But Pan Tianlei's smile soon faded.
"Ugh ugh ugh—" Pan Tianlei stared wide-eyed in terror, his mouth tightly pursed, unable to open no matter how hard he tried, only able to let out sobs.
"No noise is allowed inside Huayang Academy." The voice came from the sky, and a young man wearing the uniform of Qingyuan Sect stood above on his sword, his clothes swaying gently in the breeze.
The newcomer had gentle features, eyes like pools of spring water, and a faint smile that always played on his lips, making one feel an instant connection with him.
Fu Yunshu had some impression of this young man; he was Yin Simiao, Song Wenzhuo's second apprentice.
Yin Simiao glanced quickly at Fu Yunshu and the other two, then said to Pan Tianlei and the others, "Why are you all gathered here making a fuss? You're going to take the first test tomorrow, so hurry up and go inside and rest!"
"Ugh ugh ugh—" Pan Tianlei's face was contorted. He seemed to have a lot to say, but he couldn't open his mouth. He could only point desperately at his mouth while winking at Yin Simiao.
Yin Simiao ignored him and said only, "The silencing spell will be automatically lifted in a quarter of an hour. This is just a little lesson for you. Qingyuan Sect is not a place where you can act recklessly."
Pan Tianlei clearly had more to say, but his henchmen had already tactfully pulled him away.
Yin Simiao didn't linger. He seemed to have just decided to take a stroll on a whim, and left quickly after finding nothing amiss.
Inside Huayang Academy, the other new disciples were clearly avoiding Yin Lisheng and his two companions, intentionally or unintentionally, because of Pan Tianlei.
The three of them didn't care about such things at all, but to their surprise, a little girl blocked their way when they turned a corner.
"that……"
The little girl had her hair styled in a simple bun, and although her clothes were clean, they couldn't hide the slight ill-fitting part.
Her bangs were a bit too long, covering her eyes. She lowered her head and said timidly, "That person is called Pan Tianlei. He is the young sect master of Qianren Sect. Qianren Sect is one of the subordinate sects of Qingyuan Sect and has a considerable reputation in Yizhou. Moreover, he has an uncle who is said to be an elder of Yushou Peak. You... you'd better be careful."
The girl mustered her courage and finished speaking that long string of words, then ran away quickly, as if some monstrous beast was chasing her.
Qiu Nan's outstretched hand hung awkwardly in mid-air. He touched his nose sheepishly and said, "You ran pretty fast, huh?"
The three continued walking towards the room. Fu Yunshu tried to recall any memories of the Thousand Blade Sect, but couldn't remember anything.
Qingyuan Sect is the number one sect in the cultivation world today, with countless subordinate sects. Fu Yunshu has never been involved in the affairs of Qingyuan Sect, so it is normal that you have never heard of him.
As for that damned Elder Pan, he's even less worth mentioning. Even the peak masters didn't necessarily hold much weight in the heart of the former Immortal Venerable Huaiwei, let alone a mere elder.
Fu Yunshu concluded that there was no need to worry about it; Pan Tianlei's identity was only good enough to fool these new disciples who had not yet entered the sect.
The rooms in Huayang Academy were allocated according to the order of registration. The three were temporarily taken away because of the explosion of the Guantian Stone, so the disciples managing Huayang Academy did not assign them rooms. In addition, there were quite a few disciples who registered this year, so now there are only two rooms left.
How to allocate resources is a big problem.
Fu Yunshu looked at Yin Lisheng, who had no expression, and then at Qiu Nan, who looked troubled, and sighed inwardly.
"Young Master Qiu, please have a room to yourself. I can share with Li Sheng."
Qiu Nan seemed relieved. He bowed to the two men and said, "Thank you, Brother Su and Li Sheng. It's not that I look down on you or anything, it's just that there are some other reasons."
He tried his best to explain his behavior to the two of them, his ears turning red with shame.
Fu Yunshu patted his shoulder and said, "It's alright, go back and rest, I understand."
Qiu Nan only went to another empty room after seeing that the two of them really had no objections.
After Qiu Nan left, Fu Yunshu turned his gaze to Yin Lisheng.
"I'm sorry, I made the decision without your consent, but don't worry, I'll go rest somewhere else," Fu Yunshu said apologetically.
Having grown accustomed to Tingxuefeng, he found the rooms in Huayang Courtyard rather ordinary and had no intention of staying there to rest.
As Fu Yunshu finished speaking and was about to leave, a slender hand firmly grabbed her sleeve.
"Don't go." Yin Lisheng looked up, her eyes filled with longing. "I want to sleep with you."
