Chapter 28 Questioning: But I care about Yin Lisheng!

Chapter 28 Questioning: But I care about Yin Lisheng!

The situation reached a stalemate, and the atmosphere was tense.

The white ball of fluff trembled all over. The other party's cold gaze was like a sharp blade, piercing through the air without a sound and shooting straight at it.

Its body involuntarily curled up under this icy, bone-chilling gaze, as if tightly bound by invisible chains, unable to move an inch. The surrounding temperature seemed to drop to freezing point in an instant, chilling it to the bone.

"I... how could I possibly harm him!" Even though her body was already enveloped in fear, Bai Tuanzi still mustered up her courage and retorted to Fu Yunshu's words with a trembling voice.

“Chi Du asked me to assist this child in achieving the Great Dao, and as his sword, I must obey him. Look at this child's cultivation level; it has soared from the first level of Qi Refining to the ninth level, hasn't it? He was about to break through to the Foundation Establishment stage, but you suddenly interfered and interrupted. I think you are the one with ulterior motives, unable to bear seeing him succeed!”

The white dumpling seemed to have opened a floodgate, becoming more and more excited as it spoke, and began to chatter on and on: "Judging from your cultivation level, you can be considered a powerful figure. You wouldn't be jealous of this child's talent and want to nip him in the bud before he even grows up, would you?"

“That’s right, you are Master Chi Du’s sword, and you must follow his orders.” Fu Yunshu did not continue along with the white dumpling’s words, but instead pushed the Cold Cry Sword forward a few more times. The blade gleamed with cold light, exuding a chill.

"That's why you completely disregarded Yin Lisheng's future cultivation path, and didn't care that he had just embarked on the path of cultivation. Would rushing to establish his foundation now cause irreparable damage to his body? You only cared about the task assigned by True Person Chi Du, and nothing else."

"If I hadn't intervened, Yin Lisheng could have ascended to the Foundation Establishment stage within a day, and with your support as an ancient divine sword, he would indeed be considered the number one genius in the cultivation world for the past ten thousand years. A Nascent Soul stage in a hundred years and a Tribulation Transcending stage in five hundred years would not have been impossible."

"But what happens after that?"

The white ball of fur fell silent. It knew very well that after the tribulation, Yin Lisheng's cultivation would probably not make any further progress. Moreover, because he had not laid a solid foundation, his body would suffer excruciating pain day after day, making him wish he were dead.

"So...so what?" The white dumpling shrank back, its arrogance no longer as strong as before, and its voice carried a hint of guilt.

“When Chi Du asked him for his opinion, the Yin family boy agreed without hesitation. We didn’t force him, so he has to bear the consequences.”

Fu Yunshu sighed softly, his tone full of helplessness and pity: "Yin Lisheng is just a child. No matter how precocious he is, he is only seven years old. His mind is not mature enough, and he has no idea what those consequences mean. He is blinded by hatred and does not care about his future; you and Chi Du, for your own purposes, also do not care about his life or death."

"But I do care." The voice, usually as cold as a biting north wind, was now as gentle and warm as a spring pond.

"I hope his life can be long, peaceful and smooth. Even if he doesn't become a powerful figure, even if he remains mediocre, I will have enough ability to protect him."

Fu Yunshu spoke the most powerful words in the gentlest tone. He himself might not have felt anything, but Bai Tuanzi, who was being threatened by him, and Qiu Nan and Yan Shuangwan, who were trying their best to make themselves inconspicuous, were deeply shocked by his words and stood there dumbfounded.

“But…” The white dumpling sighed helplessly, her voice carrying a hint of compromise. “The contract between him and me is already in place. I can only suppress one-tenth of my power at most. If this child cannot raise his cultivation to the Foundation Establishment stage, he will be unable to withstand my power and will explode within three days. It’s better to die later than sooner. In a way, I am helping him.”

Qiu Nan, who was standing to the side, was furious. He thought to himself: Why is he facing the question of whether he will die sooner or later? Don't you have any idea?

But Qiu Nan didn't dare to provoke the sword spirit easily, so he could only turn to Fu Yunshu for help: "Senior Su...you said you would protect Yin Lisheng for life, you must have a way to save him, right?"

“It can be saved.” Fu Yunshu said calmly as he slowly sheathed his Cold Cry Sword.

Just as the white dumpling was relieved to be spared, Fu Yunshu's long, beautiful hand shot out like lightning and grabbed it.

"Heh, one-tenth, is that it?" The magnetic, clear voice sounded like a demon's whisper to the white dumpling at this moment, sending chills down one's spine. "Then I'll just reduce your power to half a percent, won't that be fine?"

"Help...help! What are you doing! I..." The little white ball screamed in terror, but before it could finish its sentence, it vanished into the wind.

Fu Yunshu quickly placed a magical shield around the white ball of flesh, trapping it tightly inside, and then set up a complex array.

"So, you're the famous sword 'Broken Abyss,' right? Until Yin Lisheng reaches the Great Perfection of Foundation Establishment, you'll just be an ordinary spirit sword!" Fu Yunshu's voice was icy.

The white ball of fluff frantically thrashed about inside the protective barrier, trying to break free of its restraints. But no matter how much it struggled, the barrier remained as solid as a mountain, not moving an inch.

It could only watch helplessly as the seal was placed on its body, and its power was suppressed to only half of its strength, its heart filled with despair and resentment.

"Aaaaaaahhhhhh—" it screamed madly, its voice filled with anger and fear, but Fu Yunshu didn't even glance at it. After the seal was completed, Fu Yunshu stuffed the white ball back into Yin Lisheng's body.

Yin Lisheng remained seated on the ground with his eyes closed. Fu Yunshu slowly knelt down in front of him, gazing at him with concern.

“Yin Lisheng, listen carefully. I don’t care what you promised Chi Du before. Just ignore those words and forget them all.”

“What you need to do now is stabilize your cultivation, and then—” Fu Yunshu’s voice was deep and powerful, “tame this damned Duanyuan Sword for me, and make it understand that from now on, there is only one master of the Duanyuan Sword, and that is you, Yin Lisheng, not Chi Du, who has been dead for tens of thousands of years.”

As Fu Yunshu uttered his last word, the secret realm suddenly began to collapse, the earth shook violently, as if the sky were falling and the earth were splitting apart. Everyone was thrown back by a powerful force, leaving them in a sorry state.

Fu Yunshu knew that Yin Lisheng had taken his words to heart, and he secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, no one was injured due to the collapse of the secret realm; the injured disciples had all sustained injuries during their training.

"So..." Even Song Wenzhuo, who had seen countless grand occasions and could remain calm under any circumstances, couldn't help but tremble slightly in his voice at this moment. "Grandmaster Uncle, in order to help this kid tame the Broken Abyss Sword, you accidentally caused the secret realm to collapse, didn't you?"

Fu Yunshu: "..." Although it was indeed true, for some reason, he felt that something was not quite right.

"Ahem—" Fu Yunshu turned his head slightly, avoiding Song Wenzhuo's gaze, trying to hide his embarrassment. "The pillar of this secret realm is actually the formation under the Azure Moon Spirit Tree and the Broken Abyss Sword, which serves as the core of the formation. Now that the formation has been destroyed and the Broken Abyss Sword has formed a contract with Yin Lisheng, the secret realm will collapse sooner or later."

"The reason it didn't collapse before was because the Broken Abyss Sword was still inside and hadn't come out. I sealed its power down to only half of it, which only slightly accelerated the process."

"All those explanations were for this kid, weren't they?" Ye Xiuzhu said with a hint of resentment in his eyes and a sour tone.

Fu Yunshu: "..." Sometimes, Xiao Ye really doesn't need to say so much.

“However,” Ning Xuexi was more worried about something else, and asked with a concerned expression, “what exactly does Master Chi Du want to do? And will there be any problems with what you said about him, Grandmaster Uncle?”

"It doesn't matter." Fu Yunshu's tone wasn't very friendly. "If Master Chi Du's spirit in heaven really has any resentment, then he can come at me."

Ye Xiuzhu and the others fell silent for a moment, the atmosphere becoming somewhat heavy.

"Grandmaster Uncle is joking." Song Wenzhu smiled calmly, trying to ease the awkward atmosphere. "Our Grandmaster is magnanimous. If he were alive, even if he knew about this, he wouldn't hold it against us juniors. Besides, no matter what the problem is, the first person he would look for is me, the sect leader of Qingyuan Sect."

Fu Yunshu was taken aback, then smiled helplessly: "What are you talking about? I, as an elder, am not dead yet, so it's not your turn to be the younger generation."

Several peak masters of the Qingyuan Sect were discussing how to deal with their ancestor, who had been missing for tens of thousands of years, if he returned to cause trouble. The scene looked incredibly strange.

"Alright, alright, everyone get out of here if there's nothing else," Ning Xuexi said anxiously, shooing them out. "That kid surnamed Yin is at a crucial moment, it's better not to disturb him."

"That makes sense." Everyone nodded in agreement and quickly left the room.

After all the peak masters had left, Qiu Nan hesitantly moved over, looking conflicted. Seeing his expression, Fu Yunshu shook his head helplessly and said, "Let's talk about it when he wakes up."

Heat—that was Yin Lisheng's first sensation after regaining consciousness.

His consciousness seemed to be drawn by an invisible, powerful force, gradually sinking into a chaotic darkness. The surrounding scenery began to distort and change, as unreal as a dream, finally settling on a fiery lava field.

He stood on the edge of a massive volcano, with molten lava churning beneath his feet, flames shooting into the sky, and waves of heat surging through the air. The air was thick with a pungent, nauseating smell of sulfur.

Yin Lisheng was startled and subconsciously took a few steps back.

"Where is this?" Yin Lisheng murmured to himself, his eyes searching anxiously for a familiar trace.

Just then, the magma in the center of the crater suddenly surged violently, as if stirred by an invisible giant hand.

A dazzling light shot into the sky from the depths of the magma, illuminating the entire heavens. Yin Lisheng squinted; due to the intense light, he could only barely make out what appeared to be a long sword encased within it.

"That's... the Broken Abyss Sword?" Yin Lisheng's heart jolted, a thought flashing through his mind, and he vaguely guessed what it was.

The light gradually faded, and a familiar, jet-black longsword appeared before him. The blade exuded a cold aura, a stark contrast to the surrounding scorching heat.

"It seems this is the scene when the Broken Abyss Sword was born." Yin Lisheng muttered to himself, his eyes fixed on the sword, filled with curiosity.

Just then, a figure sped from afar, moving with incredible speed, like a bolt of lightning. The figure landed steadily on the edge of the crater, upright and imposing.

He was a young man dressed in white, with a handsome face and a sharp, heroic air about him.

His gaze was sharp as he stared intently at the Broken Abyss Sword suspended in mid-air, a confident smile playing on his lips.

"It's finally done," the man said in a low voice, his voice filled with barely concealed excitement.

Yin Lisheng immediately recognized the man—the founder of the Qingyuan Sect, Master Chidu.

"From this day forward, you shall follow me in conquering all directions, slaying demons and monsters, and protecting all living beings."

The following scenes flashed rapidly before Yin Lisheng's eyes like a revolving lantern.

He witnessed the scene of Master Chi Du wielding the Broken Abyss Sword in a fierce battle against the demon army.

The sword light was like a rainbow, and every swing of the sword carried a majestic momentum that could destroy the world. The demon army was defeated one after another under his sword, losing their armor and weapons, and was eventually routed.

"Demon Lord, today is your death day!" Master Chi Du shouted coldly, his voice resounding through the heavens and earth. He slashed down with the Broken Abyss Sword in his hand, the sword light striking the demon leader like lightning.

The Demon Lord let out a shrill scream, and his body instantly turned to ashes in the sword light, turning into nothingness.

Immediately afterwards, the scene shifted, and Yin Lisheng saw Master Chi Du facing off against another person. It was a handsome and otherworldly man, with long, jet-black hair flowing in the wind, exuding a dangerous and mysterious aura.

Based on the image of the Demon Lord seen before and the legends about True Person Chi Du in the cultivation world, Yin Lisheng guessed that this person should be the Demon Emperor Shao Yu.

Shao Yu's strength is clearly not on the same level as the previous Demon Lord; he is much stronger than the Demon Lord.

The Broken Abyss Sword in Master Chi Du's hand moved through the air like a nimble dragon, its light flashing. Each attack carried an overwhelming force, as if it could tear the sky apart.

But Shao Yu was not afraid at all. He moved swiftly and easily dodged the attacks, as if Chi Du Zhenren's attacks were just child's play to him.

After a fierce battle, Master Chi Du was at his limit, his breath weak and his face pale. But Shao Yu still looked calm and composed.

"Chi Du, I advise you not to overestimate yourself. You think you can kill me? That's just wishful thinking." Shao Yu casually looked down at Chi Du Zhenren, his tone full of sarcasm and disdain.

Master Chi Du knelt on the ground, supporting himself with his sword. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with difficulty, and smiled slightly, a smile that carried a hint of determination.

"Shaoyu, you were careless."

"What?" A hint of doubt flashed across Shao Yu's face.

Before he finished speaking, Shao Yu's figure disappeared into a towering burst of flames, as if swallowed by darkness.

"If I can't kill you, can't I at least seal you away? This time, we really have to thank the Yin family..." Master Chi Du's voice grew weaker and weaker until he finally fainted from exhaustion and his body slowly collapsed.

Yin Lisheng's pupils trembled, and his heart was filled with turmoil. He wanted to step forward and ask Master Chi Du what his last words meant, but it was just a memory of the Broken Abyss Sword, and it happened tens of thousands of years ago. Chi Du could not possibly answer him.

Just then, the surrounding scenery began to gradually dissipate, slowly disappearing like mist, turning into complete darkness.

"Did you see that?" The white dumpling suddenly appeared, her tone carrying a hint of pride.

"I saw it," Yin Lisheng replied softly, his voice carrying a complex mix of emotions.

"This is my master, Chi Du. Back then, he used me to slay the Demon Lord, seal the Demon Emperor, fight in the south and north, and establish the Qingyuan Sect, bringing a peaceful and prosperous era to the cultivation world." The white dumpling became more and more proud as it spoke, and its voice grew louder and louder.

"That arrogant brat outside just now said he'd make you tame me and become my master. How laughable! What makes you think you can surpass Chi Du? Just wishful thinking?"

"Of course, it's because of—"
