Chapter 59

Chapter 59

The crack looked like an abyss. Boji looked down, his legs weakening. His glasses almost slipped off, but luckily he caught them in time. "Do you really believe it?"

He held his glasses and looked at Wen Bei standing beside him.

Wen Bei: "You'll know if you go down and take a look."

Bo Ji strongly disagreed: "This is a filthy creature of unknown origin. Maybe down there is its lair. It just wants to trick us down there and eat us."

The white fox didn't speak, but its empty eyes fell calmly on them.

It listened to everything, but did not respond.

Wen Bei also looked at it, and after a moment, he said slowly and firmly, "Qiu Ting and I will go down and take a look. You just stay here."

Boji: “But…”

Before he could even finish his words of dissuasion, A Luo spoke first: "I want to go down with you too!"

It was clearly him who asked others for help, so there was no reason for him to stay alone when faced with danger.

Wen Bei: "No, what will happen if you leave?"

He had almost no offensive power, and if he stayed here he would soon be taken away by the filth and made into a delicious meal.

A Luo paused, then nodded hesitantly: "But how are you going to get down?"

Wen Bei glanced at Qiu Ting. The man raised his eyebrows at him, put his arm around his waist, and instantly huge black wings spread out from behind him. Black mist lingered on the black wings, making them look sharp.

A'Luo stared at it with his mouth wide open. Bo Ji's first reaction was to immediately pick up a pen and start recording. He was so dedicated to his work that he forgot himself. After Qiu Tin took Wen Bei away, he was still reluctant to leave and clung to the edge of the crack, wanting to take a closer look.

If A Luo hadn't quickly grabbed the back of his collar, he would have almost fallen.

The white fox followed them down and walked on the steep cliff. Its paw pads seemed to have suction cups, allowing it to walk on flat ground.

As they fell, Wen Bei looked at Qiu Ting's pair of black wings with some curiosity: "Can you transform anything?"

Qiu Tinge made a low sound from deep in his chest, and the tentacles that appeared touched the face of the person in his arms.

When Wen Bei wanted to continue asking, the white fox stopped and looked straight to a place at the bottom of the cliff, where a woman's cry for help came from.

"Is anyone there? Is anyone there?"

It was not as dark as one might imagine under the crack. Instead, there was a layer of light green smoke emitting fluorescent light, and one could see people clearly if one got closer.

Wen Bei looked towards the place where the sound came from, where a vague figure approached them.

"Are you sent by the base to rescue us?" The woman's voice became clearer.

You can tell she is very excited.

"Are you here to rescue us?"

She repeated it again.

There are actually survivors?

Just as Wen Bei showed a look of surprise, the woman approached and revealed her true appearance.

This is no longer a human being!

Green mold covered the woman's face, and even her facial features could not be seen clearly, as if they had been corroded away. When she opened her mouth, one could only see that it was densely packed with mold. Her hands, which were stretched out like zombies, were constantly shedding green mold.

"Save me!" Her voice became more and more shrill, and her outstretched hand was about to grab Wen Bei.

All of a sudden the door stopped moving.

The white fox originally wanted to take action, but saw this and felt a little confused. He tilted his head and looked at her with a rare naive look.

Wen Bei, who had spent a thousand crystal stones to directly control it, moved his mind, and the woman suddenly stretched out her hands to hug both sides of his cheeks, twisted them hard, and fell to the ground with a crisp click.

The whole operation takes less than half a minute.

"It seems that this green mist is poisonous. If you breathe it for a long time, you will end up like this." Wen Bei pointed at the woman.

She has completely turned into a filthy creature. The reason she can speak is just a means to confuse her prey. It may also be because her obsession was too deep when she became a filthy creature. After becoming a filthy creature, she wanted to kill people, but her instinct was still calling for help from them.

Fortunately, it is still a low-level filth creature, and even its weaknesses are easy to control.

The white fox looked at Wen Bei in surprise, and its narrow fox eyes widened a little.

If you ignore the blood and tears underneath, it's actually quite cute.

Wen Bei blinked at it innocently: "Keep going."

This person is not easy to mess with.

The white fox paused for a moment, and for the first time had such a clear understanding.

It continued to lead Wen Bei deeper into the crack, and from time to time it would encounter some strange-looking filthy creatures, but it was not Wen Bei's turn to take action. Once those filthy creatures approached them, they would inexplicably explode.

This was the work of Qiu Ting. He only needed to catalyze the pollution, and those filthy things would explode because they could not withstand the rapidly growing pollution.

The filthy things under the crack also have low IQs. They don't know how to seek benefits and avoid harm. They are attracted by the sweet and clean scent of Wen Bei, and rush over one after another to die.

The white fox was alert at first, but later it raised its tail high and only led the way.

Wen Bei found an identity card from the woman who had just been reduced to filth.

That was the base's official ID card, indicating that she was one of the persons in charge of this transportation mission and a high-level polluter.

Despite this, he still didn't survive the crack.

Finally, the white fox led them to find the missing convoy.

Wen Bei suspected that they were being chased by some filthy creature and accidentally fell into the crack. He thought he would see cars torn into pieces, but unexpectedly he saw several intact trucks.

They didn't go near the truck because there was someone guarding it.

Those people are not official members of the base.

Wen Bei made his judgment almost immediately.

They were wearing the same white robes that covered most of their bodies. It was difficult to see anyone's face, but one could feel the gloomy aura around each of them.

Wen Bei took a step back, but unexpectedly a strange crab darted past his feet, and the noise it made startled the group of people.

"Who's there?" a hoarse voice sounded.

The remaining six or seven people gathered around, and through the green mist, they saw Wen Bei.

"Who are you?"

"Abandoned? Why would an Abandoned appear in the cracks?"

Wen Bei looked at them calmly, even though he felt blatant malice: "Who are you?"

Instead, this group of weirdos were irritated by his calm attitude.

The leader wore a white robe with a different pattern than the others, and had a pair of gold-embroidered eyes. He raised his hand to stop his companion who wanted to come forward: "Su Wu, you are here."

He was looking at the white fox and speaking to the white fox.

The white fox stared at him for a while, then opened its mouth and spoke in human language: "You are not dead yet."

The scene of a man's deep voice emerging from a furry little fox was so awkward.

Wen Bei was stunned for a moment, his eyes becoming a little dazed.

Qiu Ting, who was standing aside, had a gloomy expression on his face. He had long known that the white fox contained the soul of a grown man. This was also the reason why he was unhappy when he saw Wen Bei feeding the white fox this morning.

The sudden exposure of the white fox made the situation a little awkward.

He faced the white-robed men opposite him calmly, but his tail drooped behind him because of his guilty conscience.

Even he himself didn't know the source of his guilty conscience, but he just didn't want to look back and see the young man's shocked expression.

The white-robed man interrupted the delicate atmosphere: "Su Wu, we have given you many chances, but you can no longer become a human. You are the darling of evolution, and you have completely abandoned it..."

"Shut up!" The white fox suddenly opened its mouth and roared.

Although I couldn't see the other person's expression under the hood of his white robe, I could still feel that he became impolite after being insulted.

"Su Wu, if you don't accept my toast, then you'll have to pay it back. We have found the Holy Son who can truly lead the Holy Jin Church into the future. Since you are unwilling to submit to us, then die here like this bunch of useless trash." The white-robed leader said this sarcastically and retreated behind him.

"So it was you who hijacked the emergency convoy and let them die in the crack." Wen Bei's eyes turned cold.

He thought of the woman just now.

The white-robed man snorted and laughed, "So what? A mere outcast dares to speak to us."

This was the second time the word "abandoner" came out of their mouths.

Wen Bei secretly took note of this title.

The remaining men in white robes began to attack the white fox. The white fox was very powerful. With one claw, it directly split the hard crack in the ground two meters deep. The blood and tears became vivid, as if wailing and weeping. Its speed was too fast to be captured by the naked eye.

If the claws landed on a human, even the hardest skull could be easily broken.

But these white-robed men were not weak either. Each of them had at least the strength of a high-level polluter. In a one-on-many situation, the fight began to stalemate.

The white-robed man who had been leading the group at the beginning stood opposite. He did not join in, but instead watched with delight from the sidelines: "Do you know how these idiots died?"

"They were hijacked. They could have simply given us the supplies and died a quick death, but they went to all that trouble to lure us into this rift."

"How naive and foolish! You think you can perish with us and prevent us from taking away the supplies. In fact, we are all resistant to the green mist here and will not be contaminated at all. We are protected by the great Holy Progress Church and are destined to return to the top of the food chain!"

The white-robed man muttered a long paragraph, and his eyes suddenly showed murderous intent: "Anyone who abandons us should be wiped out."

Hundreds of arrows appeared out of nowhere and suddenly attacked Wen Bei, catching him off guard and without any warning.

The white fox's body stiffened. He wanted to turn around but was caught by surprise. An ice blade pierced through his body, and his snow-white fur was stained with blood.

The white fox seemed to feel no pain and shouted angrily: "Be careful!"

The imagined scene of the young man being pierced by hundreds of arrows did not appear. All the arrows stopped in mid-air, as if blocked by an invisible wall of air.

The man beside him who had been silent from the beginning finally moved. With a murderous look in his eyes, he spoke each word with emphasis: "Seeking death?"
