Chapter 290 Guarding the Master

Aze is a very good person. Although he cannot speak, he takes very good care of Yuan Zhizhi and Duota.

Yuan Zhizhi observed carefully and found that Aze seemed to live here alone and make a living by hunting.

He works very efficiently. Although he looks thin, he is actually very strong.

After a busy day, Yuan Zhizhi finally rested in the main house and lay down next to Duota.

Aze went to the side room.

As the night grew darker, the lights in the house became so dim that they were almost extinguished.

Yuan Zhizhi curled up beside Duota, her little hands tightly clutching the corner of the quilt, her eyelids drooping heavily, and she gradually felt sleepy.

Just as she was about to fall asleep, a slight friction sound suddenly came from outside the house.

The sound was intermittent, like something crawling on the wall.

She held her breath and listened carefully, and could faintly hear a faint whimpering sound.

Her heart tightened, and Yuan Zhizhi's sleepiness instantly disappeared. She tiptoed off the kang, stepped barefoot on the cold floor, and walked carefully to the door.

She raised her hand and gently pushed the door open. The wooden door creaked, and as soon as it opened a crack, something rushed in quickly over her head.

Yuan Zhizhi subconsciously took a step back and looked up, only to see a furry tail standing straight up. A familiar white figure jumped into her arms and sniffed her excitedly.

Her eyes suddenly lit up, and she whispered in surprise, "Xiaobai!"

Xiaobai raised his head, his amber eyes were wet, and his nose nudged against her neck, making sure she was safe.

Yuan Zhizhi gently stroked Xiaobai's head and looked into the house.

There was a black figure on the kang - Cangyuan was squatting quietly beside Duota, with his wings half-folded, his eyes alert, and his head lowered to sniff Duota's scent.

A hint of surprise flashed across Yuan Zhizhi's eyes, but she quickly came to her senses and hurriedly said "hush" to Xiaobai, signaling it not to make any noise.

She quietly poked her head out and looked towards the side room, and saw the half-closed wooden window standing quietly in the night.

The lights in the house went out and Aze seemed to have gone to bed.

After making sure there was no movement, she breathed a sigh of relief, quickly pulled Xiaobai into the house, and closed the door gently, for fear of disturbing the boy.

However, she did not notice that a quiet figure was standing quietly behind the window of the side room.

Aze stood there quietly.

From the moment Xiaobai and Cangyuan stepped into the yard, his eyes never left them, and there was a flicker of obscure emotions in his deep eyes.

He slowly withdrew his gaze, tapped his fingers unconsciously on the window frame, then turned around and continued to lie down.

Yuan Zhizhi quietly closed the door, her little face full of surprise.

She looked down at Xiaobai in her arms, rubbed its dirty fur, and couldn't help complaining in her heart,

[Xiaobai, where have you been? I'm so worried about you!]

Xiaobai whimpered, and nudged his head into her arms like a spoiled child, his tail wagging with a whirring sound, his amber eyes full of attachment.

On the other side, Cangyuan squatted quietly beside Duota. It gently touched Duota's shoulder with its beak, as if to confirm his condition.

Seeing this, Yuan Zhizhi hurried over quietly, and gently stroked Cangyuan's smooth feathers with her small hands.

[Xiao Cangcang, please don’t hurt him…]

Cang Yuan chirped softly and retracted his wings.

It lowered its head, retracted its front paws, and nestled beside Dota's head in a protective posture.

Yuan Zhizhi looked at the eagle and the tiger, pursed her lips, and thought about what to do now.

[We have to find a way to send a message to our parents, asking them to come and save us...]

Speaking of delivering messages, she and Xiaobai both turned their gazes to Cang Yuan.

But Cangyuan lowered his eyes and stared at Duota's sleeping face, showing no sign of moving.

The golden pupils that always exuded dominance dimmed at this moment, revealing deep worry.

It wants to guard its master.

Yuan Zhizhi and Xiaobai understood what Cangyuan meant and looked at each other.

Xiaobai also looked at her with watery eyes, his tail hanging down, and the whole little white tiger nestled in her arms, with unwillingness written all over his face.

It also doesn't want to leave its little master.

Yuan Zhizhi gently stroked its fur and coaxed it softly:

[Xiaobai, Xiao Cang Cang doesn't know where daddy and mommy are. You're more familiar with them, and mommy is more familiar with you. Why don't you go over there, okay?]

Xiaobai twisted his body, hesitated for a while, and finally nodded obediently, blinking his eyes and making a soft "Woo~", which meant he agreed.

Yuan Zhizhi used the remaining paper that Bai Ri Aze had used to draw a diagram, rolled it up, and let Xiaobai take it away.

Xiaobai didn't stay too long, Yuan Zhizhi hoped it could leave and come back soon.

So at dawn, it climbed over the poplar wood fence in the yard again.

When it left, the person lying in the side room slowly opened his eyes, and after a moment, closed them again.

The next morning, Yuan Zhizhi slowly opened her eyes to the sound of chopping wood.

She slept very late last night. The thrill and tension of the whole day were finally relieved in the warm quilt, and she had a rare good sleep.

She rubbed her sleepy eyes, staggered off the kang, and when she opened the door, the morning light sprinkled into the yard, and the air was filled with the fresh scent of earth and grass.

Under the grape trellis in the yard, Aze was shirtless, swinging the axe skillfully, chopping and swinging with efficiency and decisiveness.

The morning light shone on his muscular upper body, his muscle lines slightly tensed as he moved, exuding the unique strength and composure of a young man.

Hearing the noise behind him, Aze stopped and turned around to see Yuan Zhizhi sticking out her little head, grinning, revealing a row of white teeth and a gentle look in her eyes.

He casually put down the axe, walked to the water tank, skillfully scooped up a bucket of clean water, poured it into the washbasin, brought it to Yuan Zhizhi, patted the edge of the basin, and signaled her to wash her face.

Yuan Zhizhi rubbed her sleepy eyes, took the handkerchief with a smile, wiped her face carelessly, and said softly, "Thank you!"

Aze was slightly startled, smiled shyly, and a rare warmth flashed in his eyes.

Then he turned and went into the kitchen, and soon came out with hot pancakes and goat milk.

Yuan Zhizhi took the goat milk and drank it in small sips from the bowl. The warm milk aroma filled her lips and teeth, making her squint her eyes in satisfaction.

Aze watched her drink happily, rubbed her head gently, turned back to the house to change Dota's medicine.

Yuan Zhizhi was drinking sweetly when she suddenly remembered that Cang Yuan was still in the room. She was startled and quickly put down the bowl and trotted in.

As soon as I entered the door, I saw Aze standing in the room, staring silently at Cangyuan.
