Chapter 5 You are an old beast

Yuan Zhao stared at Matron Cui, his eyes full of coldness, which made Matron Cui feel uneasy.

She chuckled softly and said, "I'm afraid Madam Cui can't produce Zhizhi."

"Gantang!"

Yuan Zhao called out and Gan Tang went into the inner room.

The old lady and Aunt Cui's faces changed instantly when they saw the child in her arms.

The master and servant looked at each other, neither knowing what was going on.

Wasn't the child abandoned outside? How did he end up at Yuan Zhao's place?

Did she find out?

But the old lady calmed herself down and still took the initiative. Her face changed and she scolded Gan Tang harshly:

"You wicked slave! How dare you carry the young lady out without permission?! You didn't follow the doctor's orders. What if the young lady catches a cold?"

"Someone, come! Take the young lady away and drag this wicked slave out for twenty strokes of the cane!"

The people in the old lady's room were obedient. Several old maids with fleshy faces came in immediately and wanted to carry Gan Tang away.

"Who dares!" Yuan Zhaofeng frowned, and his whole aura changed.

Everyone in the room was stunned.

Yuan Zhao had been married into the Wei family for more than ten years, and her temperament as a princess had long since worn away.

Especially during the past ten years in Yangzhou, she was in poor health and was very worried, so she has always been good-tempered.

The family has always been managed by the old lady. When have they ever seen Yuan Zhao with such a cold and stern face?

[Mother is so awesome! Mother is so handsome!] Everyone else was frozen in place, only Yuan Zhizhi was waving her little hands.

Yuan Zhao took his daughter in his arms, with Gan Tang standing beside him.

Gan Tang stood with his back straight and a serious face, not showing any panic when facing the old women.

Seeing that the people in the room were frightened, Yuan Zhao remained calm and called out, "Madam Cui."

Aunt Cui suddenly heard someone calling her and subconsciously responded with an "Hey". After she responded, she saw the old lady frowning and looking at her.

"Have all the wet nurses, maids, and old women who are taking care of the young lady come here. I want to question them."

Aunt Cui did not answer, but just glanced at the old lady hesitantly.

Yuan Zhao was not in a hurry either, she had plenty of time today.

The old lady's originally pleasant face had now turned as gloomy as the bottom of a pot. She knew that Yuan Zhao had come with bad intentions today.

But she had been accustomed to bullying Yuan Zhao for more than a decade, and it was impossible for her to give in now, so she acted like a mother-in-law:

"You came to my mother-in-law's room early in the morning just to show off?"

"Where in the world is there a daughter-in-law as domineering as you? You're worse than..."

Not as good as who?

The old lady stopped talking abruptly, and Yuan Zhao examined her expression.

So the old lady knew about the existence of the concubine?

Yuan Zhao suppressed her anger. At the beginning of her marriage, because she was a princess, the old lady was always a little in awe of her.

Wei Shaoqing often reminded her in words and deeds that they were mother-in-law and daughter-in-law at home and should be filial to their elders.

Yuan Zhao thought that the family should be harmonious, and he did not want to turn the Wei Mansion into a place with clear hierarchy like the imperial palace, so he obeyed the old lady in everything and was very filial to her.

But what about now? The old woman poisoned Nan Nan's voice and threatened to freeze her Zhi Zhi to death.

Now that she had come to him, she could still remain calm and put the blame on him! Yuan Zhao wanted to chop the person in front of him into pieces!

Even though there is no evidence for Yuan Nan'an's voice, Yuan Zhao now has no doubt about his daughter's feelings.

Yuan Zhizhi was in Yuan Zhao's arms, spitting saliva. When she heard the old witch scolding her mother, she spat on the old lady's face with a "pu" sound.

[Old witch, old witch! I told you to freeze Zhizhi to death! I told you to poison your mute sister! I told you to bully your mother!]

She spat two or three times, one mouthful after another, onto the old lady's face.

Seeing his daughter venting her anger, Yuan Zhao felt a little relieved.

The old lady wiped it with her sleeve, shaking with anger and cursing: "You little beast..."

Aunt Cui stopped the old lady in time and prevented her from finishing her curse.

But Yuan Zhao heard it, and Yuan Zhizhi heard it too.

[I'm a little bastard, so my scumbag dad is also a bastard! You're even more of an old bastard! Pah! An old bastard no one wants!]

Even though his daughter was furious, Yuan Zhao was no longer angry and laughed out loud.

Seeing this, the old lady slammed the table and shouted angrily: "Yuan Zhao!"

"Is this how you teach your daughter? She'll end up being an uneducated child! It'll be a disgrace to our entire Wei family..."

This little beast is not as good as Jiaojiao at all. After all, she has raised the little beast for a month, but it turned out to be an ungrateful wolf that can never be tamed!

You have to know that her sweetheart can't even sit in her arms and enjoy the love she has received, so she is the most obedient and well-behaved girl to take advantage of people's wishes.

Yuan Zhao put away the smile on his face and looked at the old lady indifferently.

The old lady didn't know what was wrong with Yuan Zhao today. She was always submissive and obedient in front of her.

But today I bumped into myself many times.

Her scolding voice became lower and lower under Yuan Zhao's gaze.

But Yuan Zhao's expression changed, and he returned to his usual expression and said softly: "Mother, I don't dare to accept your words."

"Zhizhi was taken away by my mother the moment she came out of my belly. She never spent a single day with my daughter-in-law. How can that be considered the daughter-in-law's fault for raising her?"

Yuan Zhao's words choked the old lady so much that she couldn't refute.

What he just said came back to him like a slap in the face.

Everyone in the mansion knew that Yuan Zhizhi had been raised in the old lady's house since she was born. Now that she was scolding Yuan Zhizhi for being uneducated, wasn't she scolding herself for being uneducated? Scolding Yuan Zhizhi for bringing shame to the Wei family, wasn't she scolding herself for bringing shame to the Wei family?

The old lady of the Wei family was born in the countryside and did not know the rules and manners of the upper class. When she was in the capital, she could not reach the level of the royal family in the capital and was often ridiculed in front of and behind people.
