Chapter 425: Tong Yao is missing
The door was not locked. Shu Yue unscrewed the door handle and opened the door directly. She walked in quietly.
"Tong Yao?"
She called out softly and stood beside the bed. The quilt was lifted up and there was someone lying on it. She reached out and touched the bed. It was cold. She didn't know how long the little girl had been up.
"Tong Yao? Are you in there?"
Shu Yue thought she had gotten up to go to the bathroom, so she went to the restroom to look for her, but still couldn't find her. It wasn't until she discovered that the schoolbag Tong Yao brought was also missing that she realized what had happened.
"What's going on? Why are you so anxious? Isn't that little girl awake?"
Mr. Bai saw Shu Yue coming down from upstairs in a hurry and asked.
"Tong Yao is missing."
"Gone?"
Shu Yue thought that her schoolbag was missing, and she must have sneaked out at night.
We contacted the property management and checked the surveillance footage, and sure enough, we saw her walking out of the Bai family’s gate at two o’clock in the morning.
There are security guards guarding the entrance of the villa area 24 hours a day, but Tong Yao's small stature and height are just the right height for the security booth, so she slipped out by blocking the security guard's sight. The surveillance went all the way to the entrance of the community, and she entered the blind spot of the surveillance and disappeared.
"Why would she want to run away from home? Is she dissatisfied with the food being cooked? Or is the food not to her liking?"
Zhou Lan was extremely anxious as she watched Tong Yao disappear from the surveillance camera.
Where can such a young child go when he comes to Beijing for the first time with just a small schoolbag? He is unfamiliar with the place and if he is seen by human traffickers, he can be easily abducted.
Shu Yue frowned. "If we don't report the missing person in enough time, the police won't come to file a case. We have to look for him ourselves."
"Don't worry, I've already asked someone to look for her. She shouldn't be far away." Fu Jingshen immediately called and sent someone to look for her.
Tong Yao didn't know the road and could only walk on foot, so she couldn't walk far, so it should be easy to find.
Fu Jingshen’s consideration was correct, but he couldn’t stop those who had ulterior motives.
Tong Yao's cute little appearance, curled up on a chair at the bus stop, easily attracted other people's attention.
The old lady had been waiting for the bus for half an hour. When she was about to leave, she saw Tong Yao sitting there motionless, so she took the initiative to go up to her and ask her.
"Little boy, why are you here alone? Where are your family members?"
When Tong Yao was approached by a stranger, she subconsciously tightened her bag and pretended to remain calm.
My grandma said that you should not easily reveal your background to people you don’t know outside.
"Mom and Dad went to work."
"Then why did they leave you here alone?" the aunt asked curiously.
Tong Yao's eyes rolled around and she thought of a lame excuse.
"Because I want to go to school by myself and I want to exercise my independence."
"So your parents agreed?"
"I agree."
Tong Yao felt a little guilty.
The aunt looked around and saw the man with suspicious movements nearby.
This little girl looks only five or six years old. How could her parents be so careless as to let her go out alone?
He must be following me secretly.
The old lady had an idea in mind and felt relieved knowing that Tong Yao was silently accompanied by her parents. She took the initiative to ask her where she was going and could help her see if the bus had arrived.
Seeing that the old lady was still talking to her, Tong Yao pointed to a station at random.
"I'll go there."
"That's great, take the same bus with me. Come on, you and Auntie."
The old lady was about to pull Tong Yao into the car, and Tong Yao was startled, "I don't have any money."
“You can’t take the bus without money.”
The aunt suddenly realized that it was no wonder that the girl had stayed there for so long without getting on the bus. It turned out that she had gone out without bringing any money.
"It's okay. Auntie has money. I'll pay for it for you."
The enthusiastic aunt Tong Yao couldn't resist at all and was finally pulled into the car by her.
The aunt found the only seat and asked Tong Yao to sit down.
She looked back and saw that the man with suspicious behavior had also gotten into the car, and she felt more at ease.
That must be the little girl's father.
He wore a mask for fear of being recognized.
Then she has to be an enthusiastic and righteous passerby and send the little girl to her destination safely!
Tong Yao sat on the chair, not daring to close her eyes even though she was extremely sleepy and her eyelids were drooping.
She looked at the busy traffic outside, the tall buildings, the beautiful architecture, all kinds of luxury cars passing by, and the fashionable young people walking on the street.
She felt out of place in this city.
Her memories were of fields, green hills and country roads. Perhaps she shouldn't have followed Shu Yue here in the first place.
Shu Yue's words touched her. She liked Shu Yue and followed her without thinking it through, forgetting to consider whether her family could accept her.
Tong Yao lowered her head in distress, not knowing what to do next.
"Little girl, we've arrived."
The aunt patted Tong Yao's shoulder gently.
Tong Yao's sleepiness was scared away, and she immediately got up and ran out with her schoolbag.
The man wearing a mask also got out of the car.
Seeing this, the aunt was in a good mood.
I did another good thing today.
After getting off the bus, there were strange people and strange things everywhere. Tong Yao stood at the bus stop, hesitating, not knowing which direction to go.
Her stomach was growling with hunger, and she had no money to buy breakfast, so she could only walk forward aimlessly.
Just as she turned a corner, a hand suddenly appeared in front of her. Before she could scream, it covered her mouth. The next second she lost consciousness and fainted.
Not only did Fu Jingshen send people out to look for Tong Yao, but Old Master Bai also called people, but there was no trace of Tong Yao from morning to afternoon.
It was not until the evening that Shu Yue came across a short video account of an old lady.
"Today, I did a good thing!"
The aunt told everyone about her helpful act today and also took some videos. Although the angle was strange and only the back of the child's head could be seen, Shu Yue still recognized that it was Tong Yao.
It’s exactly the same dress she wore yesterday!
Shu Yue sent a private message to the aunt immediately.
The auntie didn’t have many fans, so when she saw someone send her a private message, she opened it and read it immediately.
She found it strange that the other party kept asking about the whereabouts of the child.
"Do you think she's a little girl and want to sell her? I tell you it's impossible with me here!"
Auntie sent a voice message.
Shu Yue felt helpless.
After she was told all the information and characteristics about Tong Yao, the old lady finally believed that she was Tong Yao's family member.
"But I clearly saw a man wearing a mask following her stealthily. Isn't that her father?"
Could it be that she guessed wrong?
With the clues provided by the aunt, Shu Yue and others immediately rushed to the place where Tong Yao got off the bus to retrieve the private surveillance footage of the nearby merchant.
Soon, Tong Yao's figure appeared in the surveillance video.
She passed by a coffee shop, followed by a man wearing a mask. After they left the surveillance camera and reached the blind spot, they disappeared!
