Chapter 446: Tong Yao escapes

Chapter 446: Tong Yao escapes

While they were not paying attention, Tong Yao half opened her eyes and looked outside. The car had been circling in the underground garage for a long time without getting out. It turned a corner, went down a slope, and then stopped steadily.

She immediately closed her eyes and didn't dare to breathe.

She heard the sound of the car door opening and someone carried her out from outside.

"There is nothing for you to do here, go back."

It was a young man's voice that sounded above Tong Yao's head.

"You can go back, but where is the money we are supposed to get?" The old lady stretched out her hand to the young man. "We agreed on one million yuan, but now we have only seen a small part of it. We have been working in this job for half a year, but we haven't received the next salary. It's really boring."

"This is a life-threatening job. How can we work hard without being paid?"

The young man frowned and lowered his voice, "If you leak out everything that happened here, you won't get a penny of the remaining money. The boss said that the money will be transferred to you in a while, and as long as you don't cause any trouble, you will get extra bonuses."

"It would be better this way."

Tong Yao heard the car door close and the sound of the car starting.

The young man holding her started walking, and she didn't dare to open her eyes to look at him all the way.

Only after she was put down and lying on the sofa did she feel a little relieved. She quietly opened one eye and looked outside, and saw a man wandering in front of the printer. The man who had carried her in walked up to him and talked to him.

"Is the boss still not feeling well?"

"They said they wanted to give Ouyang some attention, saying he was too suspicious and that he saw the flaws in the contract at a glance. So the boss asked me to come over and print a new copy."

He helplessly sorted out the contracts in his hands, bound them and put them in a folder.

The two were some distance away from Tong Yao, chatting happily and not noticing the situation on Tong Yao's side.

The moment Tong Yao saw that they had their backs to her, she immediately tiptoed down from the sofa, saw the half-open cabinet door next to her, held her breath and squeezed in, stretched out her little finger to hook the door over, and hid herself.

There were a lot of things piled up in the cabinet, including a safe and documents. It was small to begin with, and it became even more crowded with so many things piled in it. Fortunately, she was petite and could hide in it by squeezing in.

"Did you hear any strange noises?"

They both turned around almost at the same time, and the sofa was empty, with no trace of Tong Yao.

"I'll go, where are the people?"

"Why are you still standing there? Go out and look for him. If the boss blames us for the loss, we'll both be doomed!"

Tong Yao pricked up her ears to listen to the noise outside. She heard footsteps passing by the cabinet. She was so scared that she covered her mouth and dared not breathe, for fear of being discovered by them.

Only when she heard the door open and the footsteps fade away did she let go of her hand and, after making sure it was safe, she came out of the closet.

But she had no idea how to escape. She couldn't hide in the closet forever, as she would be found sooner or later.

Tong Yao was in a dilemma. She looked around, but the room didn't even have windows. It was airtight. The only way out was the door in front of her.

She gritted her teeth, walked to the door, tiptoed to pull the doorknob, and when the door opened, she saw the two people who had gone out came back and were staring at her blankly with their heads down.

She was startled and reacted quickly, squeezing out from the gap at their feet and running away.

A man's gruff voice sounded behind him.

"Damn it, I said the door was locked from the inside and she must not have gone out and was in the room, but you insisted on dragging me outside to look for her. Now look, she's really gone."

"Stop talking nonsense and chase after him."

The footsteps behind me are getting closer.

Tong Yao looked back and saw that he was about to catch up. She did not dare to rest at all and ran forward faster.

The corridor was so long that it seemed endless. She was about to be caught up when she ran into an old lady pushing a food cart. She braked suddenly and turned a corner, pushing the lunch boxes on the food cart to the ground. The lunch boxes were not covered tightly to begin with, and the food was now spilled all over the floor.

One of them was running fast, and when he stepped on it, his foot slipped and he fell on his butt and face up on the ground.

"So stupid."

The other person cursed past him and continued to chase Tong Yao.

Tong Yao didn't run fast, but she was very agile. She quickly disappeared around the corner. She must have hidden herself again.

The man stopped and used the intercom to call someone to find Tong Yao.

Fu Jingshen waited quietly. If Jiang Chen didn't speak, he wouldn't speak either. He just frowned from time to time to express his impatience.

"Is Mr. Ouyang's business going well?" Jiang Chen started chatting with him.

"good."

"I've always wanted to get into the real estate business, but no one guides me, so it's difficult to enter this industry." Jiang Chen sighed. Fu Jingshen understood what he meant.

"Okay, after this deal is done, I will find some free time to talk to Boss Jiang about how to get started in the real estate business." Fu Jingshen smiled and raised the teacup in his hand, took a sip, and said, "Hasn't the contract come yet? Boss Jiang's subordinate is really inefficient. Next time you choose an employee, don't choose someone who is slow to do things. If you are not careful, you will lose a big order worth millions."

Jiang Chen knew that he was urging him.

"Coming right up."

Jiang Chen signaled to the person next to him to call and urge them.

Not long after the phone call was hung up, the subordinate who went to print the contract limped over with the new contract.

"Boss, this is the new contract."

Jiang Chen took the contract from him and smelled the unpleasant odor on him. He was also covering his butt with one hand and looked very painful.

"What's going on?"

The subordinate glanced at Fu Jingshen, then bent over with an embarrassed look and leaned close to Jiang Chen's ear.

"That girl ran away. She fell when I chased her. But don't worry, boss. We have sent people to catch her. She can't get away from here."

Jiang Chen frowned, lowered his voice, and cursed inwardly, "You are incapable of accomplishing anything, but always capable of causing trouble. If you can't even handle such a small matter, what's the point of keeping you?"

They spoke in a low voice and Fu Jingshen couldn't hear clearly, but he could guess something from their expressions.

"Boss Jiang, what happened?"

Jiang Chen shook his head, "It's nothing, it's just that I, a subordinate, am clumsy and fell on the way here."

"Really?" Fu Jingshen narrowed his eyes and stared at the contract in Jiang Chen's hand, "Then can we sign the contract now?"

After the contract is signed, he must meet the person as soon as possible. Now that Tong Yao is missing, it is difficult to report back, so he has to delay it as long as possible.

"Don't worry. I just remembered that I recently planned to invest in a new property, but I can't make up my mind. I'm afraid of losing money. How about Mr. Ouyang help me analyze the pros and cons?"
