Chapter 37 Search

In Tongluo Lane, in Liu Sisi's house, the Second Prince and Dongfang Lingyun sat dejectedly at the door of the cellar.

All night long, the two men searched the cellar.

At first, they found the cellar filled with nothing but junk.

Later, the second prince remembered that his sister had once said that Wei Jianzhong's outer house had a double cellar, so he moved the old furniture away in ecstasy.

This time, they finally found another cellar door where the furniture was stacked.

The second prince excitedly took out his dagger and wanted to continue the same method to open the lock, but the lock of this door was too strong.

The second prince tried his best but failed to open the lock.

"It seems that we can only go find the key." Dongfang Lingyun said while rubbing his eyes.

"Looking for the key?" The second prince curled his lips.

Easier said than done, this key is very important and not easy to find.

"Got it!" Dongfang Lingyun slapped his head excitedly.

"I've heard that if you soak green vitriol in hot oil, the resulting green vitriol oil is very corrosive and can corrode any iron."

The Second Prince's eyes lit up after hearing this: "Really? Then I'll go out and buy some alum."

The second prince didn't bother to tidy up his clothes, he stood up and ran out the door.

"Go buy it at the pharmacy!" Dongfang Lingyun shouted.

In the Prince's Mansion, after the Prince finished breakfast with his father, the Emperor, and the Queen Mother, he was eager to go to the Jiang Mansion to continue the search.

"Take Sangqi with you. She is sharp and careful, maybe she can help." The queen looked at the prince with concern.

"Don't worry about searching the Jiang Mansion. I have already sent Cheng Feng and Ying Chen to look for the Jiang family's villa." Xia Zhengqi's eyes were burning.

"I have written to my father, the emperor, and my mother, the empress." The prince felt a warm current surging in his chest. It felt so good to be a family and help each other.

This time, with Xia Miaoyuan's reminder, the prince rushed to the reception room as soon as he arrived at Jiang Mansion.

"We've been searching for two days and two nights. How long are you going to make trouble?!" Madam Jiang looked at the prince sideways and said sarcastically.

"Madam Jiang, the search is not over yet, please be patient." The prince's tone was calm and firm.

"The Emperor has arrested my master and two young masters without any reason. If you still can't find anything, I will storm into the Golden Palace and cause trouble!"

"I just don't believe it. In this clear world, in broad daylight, there is no justice!" Mrs. Jiang put one hand on her waist and pointed to the sky with the other, full of confidence.

Seeing that the prince no longer paid attention to her and hurried towards the reception room, Mrs. Jiang suddenly turned pale.

"Didn't you search the reception room?" Mrs. Jiang looked calm, but her tone was a little panicked.

Seeing this, the prince became even more certain that the secret room must be in the reception room.

The prince, accompanied by several attentive followers, carefully inspected the room.

Sang Qi held an oil lamp in his hand and approached the wall, examining it carefully inch by inch.

Suddenly, she lifted up a small painting on the wall and reached out to press hard on the wall.

The prince and others walked over to take a look, and saw a palm-sized piece of wall, which was actually a hidden mechanism.

As Sangqi pressed, there was a sound of a spring popping out, and then a step-wide piece of wall suddenly flipped open.

"There is a secret room in here!" several followers shouted excitedly.

Mrs. Jiang collapsed to the ground instantly.

The prince excitedly led people in to check, and indeed found the letters and account books.

"Pack up the troops and return to the palace to report!" The gloom disappeared from the prince's face and he gave the order in a loud voice.

At night, Tongluo Alley was pitch black, with only the occasional shout from the night watchman.

In the west courtyard of Liu Sisi's house, Dongfang Lingyun was standing in the cellar holding a lantern to illuminate the way for the second prince.

The second prince took out a face towel and wrapped it around his face, covering his mouth and nose.

Then he carefully opened a small bundle and took out a porcelain bottle.

Because green vitriol is not a common item, it is very difficult to buy.

Today he slipped out of the Liu family and went looking for it separately with a few trusted aides. It took them almost a whole day to finally find it in a drugstore.

Then he found a craftsman who knew how to prepare it and made alum into alum oil.

By the time he came back with the alum oil, it was already dark.

Knock, knock, knock. There was a crisp knock on the door.

"Mr. Fang, open the door!" Lian Ye's voice came.

"Hurry, go and deal with it first!" The second prince seemed a little panicked.

Dongfang Lingyun staggered out of the cellar, closed the cellar door, straightened his clothes, and then opened the courtyard door.

"What is Mr. Fang doing? Making my wife wait so long." Lian Ye scolded.

"It's okay. I guess Mr. Fang was too focused on his studies and didn't hear it." Liu Sisi's voice was as gentle as water.

Dongfang Lingyun opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say, so he could only smile awkwardly.

Lian Ye carried a food box and walked into the house swiftly. She quickly set the table with wine and food.

"What is this?" Dongfang opened his eyes wide in surprise.

"Our lady saw that you were studying hard, so she invited you to have a drink and chat." Lian Ye covered her mouth and chuckled, then turned around and walked out, considerately closing the door.

"Sit down quickly, Mr. Fang. The night is long. Let's have a few drinks." Liu Sisi stretched out her slender hands, stroked Dongfang's shoulders, and forced him to sit down.

Dongfang felt a sudden chill all over his body, his scalp went numb, and he cried out in his heart: Xia Chengnian, you bastard, come and save me!

"Isn't this inappropriate? We are a single man and a single woman. What if the master comes back..." Dongfang advised with gritted teeth.

"Don't worry, my man doesn't come back for ten days or half a month." Liu Sisi smiled charmingly, put her arm around Dongfang's shoulders, and fed a glass of wine into his mouth.
