Chapter 454: Testing

Jiang suddenly raised her head, looked at the Second Prince intently, and asked, "Who is it?"

The Second Prince met Jiang's gaze and said firmly, "This man is the current Prime Minister of Dai Viet, Han Lie!"

"What did you say? Han Lie!?" Jiang stared at the second prince in disbelief, and then her eyes turned into anger.

"I know, you're trying to drive a wedge between us! You just can't stand seeing me get along well!"

"As expected of the son of that bitch Xiao Ruoyu, you can't stand seeing me do even the slightest bit well."

The Second Prince smiled heartily and said, "Grandma, you are now living with Han Lie day and night. There are plenty of opportunities. If it is not his plan, we will know after testing it a little."

"In the eleventh year of Pyeongchang, the late Emperor of Dai Viet wanted to weaken Daxia's power at the lowest cost, so he summoned his ministers to discuss the matter, but they did not come up with a satisfactory plan."

"After that, the late Emperor of Dai Viet solicited strategies from more ministers."

"At the time, Han Lie was a minor official in the Ministry of Personnel. He came up with this vicious plan and submitted it to the emperor."

"The late Emperor of Dai Viet ultimately chose this strategy, and the following year, the poisonous plot succeeded."

"Just one month after the palace banquet tragedy, news reached Dai Viet. The late Dai Viet emperor was delighted and immediately promoted Han Lie to the position of Vice Minister of Personnel."

"From then on, Han Lie became a trusted and important minister, greatly favored by their late emperor. Soon after, he was promoted to Minister of Rites, and later to Prime Minister."

As Jiang listened to the Second Prince's confident evidence, her face darkened frighteningly and her eyes gradually dimmed.

Judging from the Second Prince's expression, tone, and the clear evidence, it doesn't seem like a fabrication.

Jiang was panicked now.

The Second Prince's voice continued, "Grandma, do you know what Han Lie experienced after arriving in Dai Viet?"

"He started out as a poor scholar, studied very hard, and finally passed the imperial examination and became the top scorer. Later, he married the daughter of the Minister of Rites."

"However, he has no roots in Dai Viet, and his father-in-law has no real power, so what he can do to help him is very limited. He has been toiling in the officialdom for more than ten years, and has only been able to hold the position of Jieshizhong in the Ministry of Personnel."

"But because he came up with this vicious plan, he suddenly became a favorite in the court!"

"Oh, Grandma, I almost forgot to mention that this time, the plan to use the poisonous insect to harm me and the Crown Prince was still Lord Han's idea."

When Jiang heard this, she shook her body and held her forehead with one hand, looking very uncomfortable.

"You've been with Han Lie day and night, and you've been sincere to him. I really can't bear to see you being deceived by such a villain."

"Just imagine, if the murderer of your son is lying next to you, can you still sleep?"

Jiang Shi forced herself to say, "I will find out."

The second prince bowed as a junior and said, "Then I feel relieved!" After that, he walked to the window, took a deep breath, and jumped into his private room.

When Xia Miaoyuan saw his second brother coming back, he excitedly hugged his legs and said, "Well done, second brother!"

The second prince made a gesture to her to keep quiet, then carried her in his arms and walked away.

Jiang's side.

After the Second Prince left, she sat still for a long time before she calmed down a little.

After waiting for another hour, Han Lie and Yao Jinse came to the private room to find her.

Yao Jinse pushed the door open and came in, saying softly, "Mother, Father has found us a new place to live. We'll just take a carriage there in a while."

Han Lie also said: "Hui'er, you don't have to worry, I'm here and I won't let that crazy woman hurt you in the slightest."

Only then did the father and daughter realize that something was wrong with Jiang.

Jiang was just sitting there motionless, with no expression on her face.

Look at Jiang's nanny again, she is standing aside rubbing her head.

"Master, Miss, just now a bad guy jumped into the private room and knocked me unconscious. The lady must have been scared." The nanny frowned.

When Han Lie and Yao Jinse heard this, they were both very nervous and hurried forward to hold Jiang's hand.

"Hui'er, how are you? Do you want to see a doctor? Did the bad guy hurt you?" Han Lie asked with concern.

Jiang's eyes moved, and she looked at Han Lie and said, "Nothing happened. It was a little thief who jumped in and scared me. I gave him a silver ingot and sent him away."

Mammy rubbed her head and asked in confusion, "Why are you hitting me on the head for something that can be solved with just a piece of silver? I'm so unlucky!"

After hearing what Jiang said, Han Lie and his daughter finally felt relieved.

Yao Jinse put a veil on Jiang and helped her downstairs.

Soon, the family drove to a house in a carriage.

This house is slightly smaller than the previous one and is located slightly off the beaten track.

Han Lie pulled Jiang into the house and explained, "This house is a bit unfair to you. You just live here for now. I will find you a suitable place to live after some time."

There was no emotion on Jiang's face; she just remained silent.

Yao Jinse said softly, "Father, we are not that picky. As long as our family can be together every day, that's the best."

Han Lie smiled with relief. "My daughter is really a father's little cotton-padded jacket. Her words are so heartwarming. I am so blessed to have such a daughter."

The father and daughter chatted and laughed while helping Jiang into the bedroom.

Immediately afterwards, Han Lie and Yao Jinse asked the servants to clean up and prepare dinner.

After working for a while, Han Lie came to the bedroom, sat by the window, and said softly, "Hui'er, are you feeling better?"

Jiang smiled and said, "I'm fine. I was just a little scared by what happened today."

Han Lie took her hand and stroked it gently: "Hui Huier, you have been wronged today. I am sorry for you!"

Jiang's eyes flickered, and she changed her voice to a gentle one, "Husband, you and I were originally a pair of lovers. But now we can only do this, sneaking around all day and being wary of her. At your age, it's like you're stealing someone else's love."

Having said this, Jiang squeezed out a few tears, took out a handkerchief from her sleeve, and pretended to wipe them.

Han Lie hugged her in his arms with a distressed look on his face. "It's all my fault. I've let you down and made you suffer. From now on, I will definitely let you take the position of Madam Han. We will be upright and dignified. I will never let you suffer any injustice again."

Jiang squeezed her eyes shut, squeezing out more tears. "When have I ever been wronged like this? I'm like a rat, hiding here and there."

"At your age, you still suffer such insults..."

Han Lie hugged her tighter and said, "Hui'er, please stop crying. It makes me feel bad."

Han Lie coaxed her for a long time before Jiang finally stopped crying. She wiped her tears, looked at Han Lie intently and said, "My husband, I really can't wait even a day."

"Since you want me to be the legitimate Madam Han, why don't you just kill her now!"

"Once she dies, I will be Madam Han."
