Xitong heard that Jin Ting'an would be back today, so she packed up and waited at the gate of the mansion.
Seeing her like this, General Jin wanted to say that there was no need to wait, as it was not like he couldn't get in by himself.
On second thought, I felt that this was a good idea. My son would be happy when he came back and saw his daughter-in-law.
So General Jin went back to the house in a good mood and sat down, leaving Xitong and the maid waiting outside the mansion gate.
"Princess, why are we waiting here?"
The maidservant was puzzled and thought, why not just wait for the general to come back before going out?
Xitong curled her lips and said nothing.
Of course, she wanted him to see her the first time he came back. Jin Ting'an's attitude towards her had finally softened, so she naturally had to strike while the iron was hot.
Seeing a carriage coming towards them, Xitong quickly tidied her hair and waited for the carriage to slowly drive to her.
A pair of slender hands lifted the car curtain, and Jin Ting'an walked out with a slightly bent body. When he raised his eyes, he noticed Xitong standing at the door.
She also looked over here, her red lips slightly raised, standing in the golden sunlight in a red skirt, the wind blowing her skirt and hair.
"The general is back," the smile on her face widened, and she walked towards Jin Ting'an. Her amber eyes seemed to be filled with stars, making Jin Ting'an dare not look directly at her.
"Well," Jin Ting'an got off the carriage, "Why are you standing at the door?"
"I heard that the general was coming back, so I waited for him at the door."
Xitong followed him and walked side by side with him into the general's mansion.
"You don't have to wait for me at the door anymore."
Xitong exclaimed and turned her head to look at Jin Tingan's handsome face which was slightly tanned.
"General, don't you like me waiting for you at the door?"
Jin Ting'an heard her somewhat aggrieved tone and blurted out, "No."
"Then the General likes it."
Xitong's voice was filled with joy. "As long as the general doesn't mind, I will wait for him at the door whenever he goes out. Besides, it's normal for a wife to wait for her husband to come back."
"It's too sunny outside."
Jin Ting'an raised the corners of his mouth slightly, feeling that this huge general's mansion didn't seem as deserted as before.
"I'm not afraid of the sun. A tan would make me look more like a general."
The two walked into the main hall, and Jin Ting'an called out "Dad".
"Old General, please talk to the general first. I'll have someone prepare the food."
Xitong walked out after he finished speaking. The old general smiled and said, "See, this makes the house feel more like home."
Jin Tingan sat next to him without saying anything.
"I heard Luo'er went there too. Was she not affected at all?"
Many civilians died this time. Luo'er was so young and witnessed all this. I don't know if it will have a shadow on her in the future.
Luo'er is precocious, but she is just a child.
"Luo'er is fine, Dad doesn't need to worry. The emperor will hold a palace banquet tomorrow, and Dad will be able to see Luo'er then."
"I still have to prepare something for Luo'er. Luo'er must be feeling bad that I used her little treasury this time."
Jin Ting'an chuckled, Dad really understood Luo'er.
"Don't worry, Dad. I'll prepare it for Luo'er."
"Be more prepared."
Jin Ting'an nodded.
"By the way, can I bring my family to this palace banquet? If possible, bring Xitong along."
The conversation returned to Xitong, and Jin Tingan held his forehead.
"Okay, let's go together then."
…
As Feng Hongyu expected, the palace banquet finally arrived.
"Your Highness, I have already put the things away."
Lin Qi stood beside the prince and said respectfully.
The prince put on his clothes, glanced at the clock, and responded softly.
"It's almost time."
"I will go and invite the concubine."
The prince heard footsteps outside and stopped Lin Qi, "No need."
As soon as he finished speaking, the voice of Feng Hongyu's maid was heard at the door.
"Brother Guard, please help me pass on the message. I want to see His Royal Highness the Crown Prince."
The two looked at each other, but before they could speak, the door was opened from the inside.
Lin Qi looked at the anxious maid and already knew the answer in his heart, "What do you want to see His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for?"
"The concubine is not feeling well and cannot attend the palace banquet. Your Highness, please forgive me."
Lin Qi sneered in his heart. Just as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the little princess had expected, they really planned to take action today.
Yes, such a good opportunity, wouldn’t it be a waste if we don’t take action?
The prince said in a gentle voice, "It's okay, Lin Qi, go get a royal doctor to come and help the concubine."
The maid thanked him repeatedly before returning to Feng Hongyu's yard.
"Your Highness, do you really want to call the imperial physician?"
"Go ahead and put on a full show."
…
Feng Hongyu heard the footsteps of the maid coming back, and quickly lay down again. When the maid came in, she asked while coughing.
"What does His Royal Highness say?"
"His Royal Highness the Crown Prince has asked Guard Lin to go and get the imperial physician for the concubine."
When Feng Hongyu heard that the imperial physician was needed, she secretly thought that it was a good thing that she had been prepared.
For today, she deliberately took cold showers for several days, and now she is really sick.
The prince is not a fool. If she pretends to be sick, any imperial physician can expose her.
So she made herself really sick, so that even if the prince found out something, he would not suspect her.
"Okay, I understand."
Feng Hongyu propped herself up and felt a little dizzy.
She pressed her temples and waited with her maid for the imperial physician to arrive.
The imperial physician arrived quickly, and the two did not have to wait long before an old imperial physician carrying a medicine box followed Lin Qi into the room.
After taking the doctor's pulse and prescribing medicine, Lin Qi sent the doctor away.
When he reached the door, he looked back at Feng Hongyu.
