Chapter 69: Shit Slip

As soon as the sky was getting light, Yu Yiluo felt someone pulling at her. She rubbed her eyes with her sleepy hands.

"Luo'er is awake. Mother will dress you. After you finish feeding, you can go out of the city to welcome your uncle."

When Yu Yiluo woke up from her half-dream state, it was already bright outside.

"Luo'er, your father will take you to meet your uncle."

The emperor strode over with Eunuch Cao and took Yu Yiluo very naturally.

"Concubine Li, you will also come with me."

Concubine Li was a little surprised, thinking she had misheard, "I am going too?"

The emperor nodded and said, "General Jin is your brother, so it's only right for you to go. Change your clothes and go together!"

After Concubine Li changed her clothes, the three of them left the palace and joined the ministers waiting at the palace gate.

"Has the Fourth Prince arrived?" The emperor asked Eunuch Cao beside him while sitting on the dragon chariot.

"Your Majesty, I'm here! I'm there!"

The Emperor and Yu Yiluo looked in the direction Eunuch Cao pointed. The Fourth Prince had two obvious dark circles under his eyes, indicating that he had not rested well. Someone was supporting him on either side.

[Good fellow, it looks like he's having a hard time standing, and he's carrying two humanoid crutches. Logically, he gets beaten up so often that he should have plenty of good wound medicine.]

The Fourth Prince rolled his eyes. The golden medicine was not a magic pill. It was just because he was in good health. Anyone else would not be able to get out of bed.

"Fourth brother, you've been severely injured this time." The Second Prince waved his folding fan and looked him over. "I've noticed that you've been beaten much more frequently recently. Don't you think about why?"

"I'm looking for reasons?" The Fourth Prince raised his finger and pointed at his nose. "It's clear that Father just doesn't like me."

"Your Highness, long live the Emperor."

Hearing everyone kneeling and bowing, the Fourth Prince shut his mouth and knelt down with difficulty to bow as well.

"Stand up, and head to the city gate immediately to welcome General Jin's triumphant return."

A group of people marched towards the city gate. Many people gathered on both sides of the street. Hearing that General Jin had won the battle, they all wanted to see General Jin's style.

"Hey, walk slower."

The Fourth Prince grimaced in pain as he was dragged away.

"Your Highness, if you are slow, you will fall behind. If the Emperor blames you, I cannot bear the consequences."

The Third Prince glanced at him and asked, "Do you need my help?"

The fourth prince was stunned for a moment. Could it be that the third prince wanted to carry him?

Is this appropriate?

"Third brother, you are the best. How can you help me?"

The Third Prince curled his lips, picked him up and carried him on his shoulders, "This is how I'll help you."

The Fourth Prince glanced around. The ministers all looked intently at him, seemingly paying no attention to him. He then asked in a low voice, "Third Brother, why didn't you give Xinxin the silver? She came to the palace to repay my silver, so you're also responsible for my beating."

"That's what she told you?" The Third Prince walked steadily. "Fourth brother, do you have a pig's brain? You believe everything she says. Why don't you use the people that Father gave you to investigate?"

Having said this, the Third Prince raised his hand and pushed the Fourth Prince from his shoulder, causing him to fall directly to the ground.

"Third brother, you did this on purpose, didn't you?"

Not only did she scold him, she also threw him down on purpose.

The Third Prince raised his eyebrows and said, "Sorry, Fourth Brother, my hand slipped."

The fourth prince, who was helped up, gritted his teeth and said, "The damn hand slipped, he just wanted to throw him down."

......

The group walked to the city gate and waited for a while before hearing the sound of horse hooves.

As the sound of horse hooves got closer, they saw the man in the lead riding on a black horse, wearing a suit of silver armor and holding a spear in his hand.

He looked different from other burly generals, with a gentle smile on his clear face.

If he hadn't been wearing armor, he would have looked more like a civil servant than a civilian.

[Wow, this is my uncle. He's so handsome! His maternal genes are so good. Look at his long legs, big eyes, and high nose bridge. My grandmother was such a good childbearer.]

emperor:"……"

"Your Majesty, I pay my respects to you."

General Jin stopped his horse, jumped off, threw his spear to the subordinate beside him, and walked up to the emperor to salute.

"General Jin, you've worked hard. Please stand up quickly. I've ordered a banquet to be prepared especially for your welcome. Now, please enter the palace!"

"I thank the Emperor."

Standing up, General Jin saw his sister at a glance. He smiled and nodded to Concubine Li.

Concubine Li knew that her brother was telling her that everything was fine with him, so she smiled back.

"This is?"

General Jin looked at the baby in the emperor's arms in confusion. The little guy had fair skin with a rosy glow, curled eyelashes, and stared at him with a pair of big black eyes. He was so cute.

"This is my little princess, your niece. I brought her here to see you."

"It's Luo'er." General Jin couldn't help but reach out to pinch the little girl's face, but thinking of the rough calluses on his hands, he slowly retracted his hand. "Uncle brought a lot of goodies this time. Can you give them all to Luo'er when the time comes?"

Because he was away fighting all year round, he and his wife were rarely together and they had no children. Now when he saw this soft little thing, he couldn't help but want to give her all the good things.

Yu Yiluo smiled with her little mouth open and raised her hand to hold the general's hand.

My uncle is so kind. He gave me so many good things right after we met. Thank you for making my dream of becoming a rich woman come true.

After all, the city gate was not a place to talk, so the emperor gave an order and took all the ministers back to the palace.

After returning to the palace, he ordered people to bring up the prepared wine and food.

"General Jin has made great contributions in suppressing the rebellion. Let's all toast to him."

Jin Ting'an didn't like this kind of banquet. After eating, he reported the situation on the border and planned to leave.

The Fourth Prince was almost moved to tears. While others were sitting, he could only kneel. After two trips in and out of the city, he felt that his wound had reopened.

Now I can finally lie down.

"General Jin has been exhausted from the journey. He should indeed go back and rest. I have approved it. I will have someone send the reward to the General's residence later."

After expressing his gratitude, Jin Ting'an stood up and left, and the other ministers also left one after another.

The Emperor took Yu Yiluo back to the Imperial Study and asked Eunuch Cao, "I asked you to send someone to look after Yang Xin. Did you do it?"

Eunuch Cao said softly, "Your Majesty, I have already done as you instructed. Yang Xin has not made any move."

The fourth brother's pig-brained son wouldn't investigate himself, so he decided to let him suffer more, preferably go to hell, to see if he would learn his lesson.

Luo'er said that Yang Xin would kill the fourth brother, so why not take this opportunity...

"The Fourth Prince seemed to know about Yang Xin being beaten with a stick yesterday. I'm afraid..."

The emperor snorted coldly, "Are you afraid that he will go find Yang Xin? If he wants to go, just pretend you don't know and report to me. Don't worry about anything else."

Then he picked up a pen and wrote an imperial edict and handed it to Eunuch Cao, "Now take someone to deliver the reward to the general's mansion."
