Chapter 84: I'm Happy to Help (1/2)

Ling Yue looked at him calmly, "I think you and Brother Xiang Chuan are right. If I'm always protected, I'll never be able to truly grow up."

"I don't want to embarrass my brother anymore, and I don't want to make my parents worry about me anymore. Brother He Chi, I was willful before. I'm sorry. I failed to live up to your care and concern."

He Chi's tone softened considerably and he asked her, "Do Uncle Ling and Aunt Mo know?"

Ling Yue nodded, "I know, my parents support my decision."

He Chi also agreed with her independence. "In that case, I respect your decision. I will ask your department manager for approval later. You can hand over the work at hand before leaving."

After talking about resigning, Ling Yue turned and left.

He Chi suddenly called her, "Ling Yue."

Ling Yue turned around and asked, "Is there anything else?"

He Chi rarely spoke to her in a cold tone, "If you get bullied outside, you don't have to swallow your anger. Tell your brothers."

Ling Yue smiled at him and said, "I know. I have a group of brothers, so I'm not afraid of being bullied by others."

He Chi hummed, and looked at Ling Yue with a look of relief in his eyes, "If your brother knew, he would be happy for you too.

"Go out and work."

A smile appeared in Ling Yue's eyes. She walked out of the office and closed the door, suddenly feeling a lot more relaxed.

In the evening, He Chi stayed at the company to work overtime, and when he returned home, only He Xiaohui was there.

Jiang Yining went to the gym to exercise and hasn't come back yet.

He went to the kitchen to see if there was anything to eat and saw a bucket of peanut oil and a bag of rice that Jiang Yining had brought back from school.

There was also a box of mooncakes and two grapefruits on the coffee table in the living room.

Jiang Yining came back after get off work and took back all the things distributed by the school.

Seeing so many things, He Chi frowned.

A person carrying so many heavy things without even calling him.

He Chi hadn't had dinner yet, and there weren't many leftovers in the kitchen. It was probably because Jiang Yining didn't come back at noon and Aunt Zhang didn't come to cook.

He lowered his head to look at He Xiaohui who came over to ask him for cat food.

It was almost nine o'clock, and He Chi was too lazy to order takeout. He poured cat food for He Xiaohui, made instant noodles for himself, and took two mooncakes to eat with the instant noodles.

He Xiaohui pulled his trouser leg in dissatisfaction.

He Chi shook it off and said, "Without dried fish, I only have instant noodles."

Seeing it looking at him with a silly yet pitiful look, He Chi broke off some mooncakes for it and asked, "Would you like to try some human mooncakes?"

This mooncake is really disgusting, it's no different from the ones his company gives to its employees.

His assistant brought him a box. He Chi tasted one and then threw the box of mooncakes to He Qingwen, and asked the responsible department to give extra red envelopes to the company employees for the festival.

He Chi threw half a mooncake into He Xiaohui's cat bowl.

He Xiaohui sniffed the scent, meowed, and walked away.

Cats hate it.

When Jiang Yining returned home, He Chi was still eating mooncakes. She looked at the box of mooncakes she brought back and saw that only one or two were left.

She was still thinking about the mooncakes that no one ate, and then she saw the instant noodle box still on the table, "You didn't have dinner?"

"Should I cook you something?"

"Need not."

He Chi cleared the table and went to the living room. He saw Jiang Yining leaning tiredly on the sofa. "Didn't you say last time that yoga was quite relaxing?"

"I skipped yoga tonight and ran for over an hour."

Jiang Yining felt her arms were very sore. She looked up at He Chi, her moist almond eyes showing pity. "My hands are so sore, can you help me massage them?"

He Chi felt that her appearance was exactly the same as when He Xiaohui asked him for dried fish just now.

But he just fell for her tricks.
