When He Chi came out of the Du family, he was holding five boxes of mooncakes in his hands, which he threw into the trunk.
Jiang Yining found it funny to see his melancholy face, "My uncle is not in good health and can't eat it, and my aunt doesn't like it either. I told her not to take it."
I originally brought four boxes, but not only did I not give them away, one box was given away instead.
He Chi started the car and headed towards He's house. "It's okay. Bring it back for Teacher He to eat."
When the two arrived at the He family, they saw boxes of mooncakes on the table as soon as they entered the living room.
The couple stopped at the same time and looked at each other silently. Jiang Yining whispered to He Chi, "If you don't want to eat it, you can take it to the bar and give it to the guests."
Even if he had ten stomachs, they wouldn't be enough to hold all those mooncakes.
He Chi thought Jiang Yining’s suggestion was good, so he put the mooncakes he had brought over.
Jiang Yining walked over first.
She saw that He Chi's aunt's niece was also there.
Seeing Jiang Yining, Li Luo stood up and explained with a smile, "Hello sister-in-law, my cousin is not at home, and my cousin's wife is pregnant and has difficulty moving, so I brought some gifts for them."
She looked at Lin Shu and said, "It's getting late, Aunt Lin. I'll go back first."
Li Luo smiled at Jiang Yining.
Jiang Yining also smiled at her.
After Li Luo left, Lin Shu said, "I guess Sun Qian didn't dare to let her aunt come over. Luo Luo is a very sensible child."
Jiang Yining asked curiously, "Mom, does Li Luo live with his aunt?"
Lin Shu nodded. "This child is quite pitiful. Both her parents are gone, and she has been living with her aunt."
"Auntie has nothing to say about her niece, but she is just a person..."
Lin Shu shook his head. "Forget it. Talking about people behind their backs is immoral."
She asked Jiang Yining, "Yining, didn't you and He Chi go to your uncle's house to give gifts? Why did you bring back such a thing?"
He Chi came over and said, "We brought it here specially to honor you."
Jiang Yining: “…”
She pointed at He Chi and said, "Mom, it's just him."
Lin Shu glanced at him and said, "If you don't want it, just leave it to me and your dad?"
He Chi glanced at someone who was gloating beside him and chuckled, "You said you would plead for me in the future, but if anything goes wrong, you'll sell me out first."
Jiang Yining originally wanted to say, "You didn't do anything to please me."
But when she thought that this man understood "pleasing" as "working hard" in that aspect, she didn't dare to say it.
Jiang Yining was really afraid that He Chi would say something shameless in front of Teacher Lin. After all, he really dared to do so.
She denied what she had said, "I didn't say that."
Jiang Yining stood up and didn't sit next to He Chi. She sat with Lin Shu, leaving He Chi sitting alone and helpless.
He Chi asked, "Mom, where are my dad and the others?"
Lin Shu peeled a sweet and sour orange for Jiang Yining and replied, "I went to the Song family with your grandmother. Old Mrs. Song was not feeling well. She went to take a look and will probably be back soon."
Jiang Yining saw an opened pomelo on the table, with the peel still intact and placed aside.
She suddenly wanted to make a lantern.
While grandma and the others were not back yet, Jiang Yining took He Chi out to buy some small lanterns.
After dinner, the family sat in the backyard, watching the moon and chatting. Jiang Yining and He Chi were fiddling with pomelo lanterns on a small stone table nearby.
Jiang Yining wanted to use a knife to carve, but He Chi took it first and said, "I'll do it."
She looked at He Chi's actions and couldn't help but said with a little disdain, "Just give it to me, you're clumsy."
The knife was taken away by Jiang Yining, but the person who was despised was not satisfied.
He got up and went to the next table to get an unopened pomelo, peeled the flesh and gave it to them.
Ten minutes later, Jiang Yining proudly showed He Chi her rabbit lantern and deliberately said, "Mine is done. Does it look good?"
He Chi looked up and saw her smiling triumphantly.
He raised an eyebrow. The light was just right. Perhaps it could be used for other purposes tonight.
