Chapter 65: "Do you like him?" (1/2)

He Chi gently put Jiang Yining in the back seat and fastened her seat belt.

She was not completely asleep, but just dazed. As soon as she sat down, she found a comfortable position and tilted her head to look at He Chi.

He Chi bent down outside the car and looked at her, hooking the long hair that fell on her cheek behind her ear.

Looking at the handsome face very close to him, Jiang Yining smiled.

She reached out, her fingers gently falling on his face, stroking his eyebrows, his high nose, and finally lightly touching his lips.

Jiang Yining's cheeks were flushed, and there was a faint smile in her misty almond eyes. She no longer had that cold feeling. I don't know what she was thinking about, but she smiled innocently.

She said, "You look a lot like He Chi."

He Chi held her hand and let her fingers trace his face carefully.

He had never seen her truly drunk before. At this moment, He Chi's heart softened and his voice softened. "Really? You know him?"

Jiang Yining nodded obediently.

He Chi held her hand and put it to his lips and kissed it, then asked, "Do you like him?"

As if some key words were triggered, Jiang Yining paused. She neither shook her head nor nodded, but pursed her lips and said nothing.

After a moment of silence, she said softly, "I can't say."

After saying the three words "I can't say", Jiang Yining closed his eyes and fell asleep.

He Chi was puzzled. What was there to hide?

Before leaving, Teacher Lin repeatedly told him to keep an eye on Jiang Yining and not let him drink too much.

If he took the drunk Jiang Yining home, he would definitely be scolded. When he was near the fork in the road, He Chi thought about turning back home.

But it was Jiang Yining's first time going back, and Teacher Lin and grandma had carefully decorated the bedroom, and grandma had been looking forward to it for a long time. It was really unacceptable for him to take her away without saying a word.

He Chi placed his hands on the steering wheel, his fingers tapping rhythmically along with the countdown numbers on the phone's navigation.

After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to keep going forward and not drive into the left lane.

Lin Shu and He Yuwen's bedroom was outside. When she heard the sound of a car outside, she got up, changed out of her pajamas and left the room.

When Lin Shu saw He Chi carrying Jiang Yining upstairs, he wanted to go find a feather duster.

The mother and son looked at each other, and He Chi coughed guiltily, "Mom, it's so late, why aren't you asleep yet?"

Lin Shu said, "It's not even ten o'clock yet."

Seeing her coming over, He Chi first carried Jiang Yining back to the bedroom. The person in his arms poked his head out and said to Lin Shu with a silly smile, "Teacher Lin, why are you here too?"

He Chi quickly hugged the man and said softly, "Okay, don't move."

Lin Shu quickened his pace and stepped forward to help hold Jiang Yining's head. "Yining, be good and don't move."

Jiang Yining rubbed his cheek against Lin Shu's palm a few times, frowning and saying, "Teacher Lin, I feel dizzy."

Lin Shu coaxed her, "You won't feel dizzy soon. Mom will get you some hangover medicine."

Hearing the word "mom", Jiang Yining's mind was flooded with painful memories. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she said to Lin Shu with a look of grievance, "Teacher Lin, my mother is gone..."

As Jiang Yining spoke, tears began to fall one by one, and soon she began to sob.

He Chi had just put her on the bed when the mother and son looked at her with heartache and tears in their eyes.

He held the person in his arms and said, "We are here for you from now on, don't cry."

Lin Shu said with pity in his voice, "Let her cry for a while. I'll go downstairs to find some hangover medicine."

He Chi's uncle loves to drink. Every time there is a family dinner, he gets drunk. He Qingwen has a lot of hangover medicine at home.

Lin Shu went to He Qingwen to ask for hangover medicine. She poured a glass of warm water and returned to He Chi's bedroom. Jiang Yining had finished crying and was nestled in He Chi's arms, sniffing.
