Chapter 26 She Didn't Reject
After washing up, Jiang Yining went out and saw the aunt cleaning the living room.
Aunt Wang stopped what she was doing when she saw Jiang Yining. "Good morning, Mrs. He. My last name is Wang."
"Mr. He called the housekeeping service, and they arranged for me to come over and help with making lunch and cleaning."
Seeing that Aunt Wang was under fifty and quite polite, Jiang Yining curved her lips and said, "Thank you for your hard work."
Someone rang the doorbell. Aunt Wang was about to open the door, but Jiang Yining walked over first and said, "Aunt Wang, you go ahead and do your thing. I'll go open the door."
It was a delivery man, probably something He Chi bought online.
Jiang Yining carried the bag to the kitchen. As soon as she put it down, she received a message from He Chi: [I was in a hurry to go to work this morning and forgot to feed He Xiaohui. The cat food is in the cabinet at the entrance.]
He Chi: [First row of drawers on the left.]
Jiang Yining replied: [I understand.]
Seeing the reply, He Chi knew that Jiang Yining had already gotten up. He raised his lip and while the people below were giving reports, he sent another message to Jiang Yining.
He Chi: [I have steamed buns in the pot. I called the housekeeping service, and they will come and make lunch for me, so I don't have to do it myself.]
Soon, he received a reply.
Jiang Yining: [Okay.]
He Chi clicked his tongue. This reply was so distant. Was she angry that he kissed her last night?
He was indeed a little bit obsessed with sex last night. Would Jiang Yining think that he was too casual?
But it shouldn't be that serious. He and Jiang Yining are legally married after all, so isn't it normal for them to kiss? And before that, he had asked Jiang Yining for her opinion.
She didn't refuse.
"Mr. He?"
He Chi didn't respond at all, and the employees who had finished their reports were extremely nervous.
The assistant called out helpfully, "Mr. He?"
He Chi said perfunctorily, "Very good."
He glanced down at his watch and frowned. "Next, pick the important ones and hurry up."
Others also felt that the colleague had been talking too much and wasting everyone's time. There was still an hour and a half left before lunch break, but he was eager to show off and wasted everyone's time.
Jiang Yining was in a hurry to feed He Xiaohui and didn't think too much about it.
When she fed He Xiaohui cat food, he was cursing and seemed very angry. Jiang Yining patted He Xiaohui's head and apologized to him, "I'm sorry, I didn't starve you, did I?"
"Anyway, I don't understand what you're saying, so I'll just take it as a denial."
He Xiaohui lowered his head to eat cat food. Perhaps he understood what Jiang Yining said, but he raised his head and meowed a few times.
Its eyes were filled with grievance and anger.
Jiang Yining asked with amusement, "Did He Chi bully you this morning?"
He Xiaohui didn't even eat the cat food and meowed loudly at Jiang Yining.
It was particularly excited when it heard He Chi's name, and Jiang Yining didn't dare to ask any more questions.
Aunt Wang has gone to the kitchen to prepare the ingredients for today's lunch.
Jiang Yining ate a bun. Since he had nothing to do, he decided to go and help.
After a few polite words, Aunt Wang felt that Jiang Yining was not arrogant and liked talking to her, so the two of them started chatting.
Jiang Yining asked curiously, "Auntie Wang, how is your salary calculated?"
Aunt Wang said, "We pay by the hour. Employers estimate the time based on their needs. For example, Mr. He said it would take about four hours. After we arrive at your home, we will complete the required work as quickly as possible and pay you based on the time it takes from arrival to completion."
Jiang Yining asked again, "How much is your hourly wage?"
"one hundred."
Aunt Wang's calm words successfully made Jiang Yining withdrawn. She now wished she could do all the work for Aunt Wang.
The hourly wage is 100 yuan, and if she works eight hours a day, that would be two or three months' salary for her.
My God, she is a top student who graduated from a key university and has five years of work experience, but in the end she is not even as good as a domestic helper.
Jiang Yining asked quietly, "Aunt Wang, what are the requirements for joining the company?"
Aunt Wang smiled and said, "As long as you can do the work, that's fine. Of course, we will have on-the-job training. Only those who pass the training can stay here. We can't let the employer complain."
“What happens if I complain?”
"If there's work available, the housekeeping department might not give priority to people who have been complained about."
Jiang Yining looked at Aunt Wang and asked seriously, "Aunt Wang, do you think I'm suitable? Do you have anyone my age?"
Aunt Wang was amused by her. "There are also young people around 30 years old working with us, but Mrs. He, you are a person who enjoys life, so why do you need to do this?"
Jiang Yining laughed dryly.
After lunch, Jiang Yining called Zhang Qiao.
Jiang Yining said, "Qiaoqiao, guess how much the housekeeper here earns per hour."
Zhang Qiao lay on the lazy chair and asked boredly, "Thirty?"
"No, guess again?"
Hearing her excited voice, Zhang Qiao knew he had said too little, "Fifty?"
"one hundred."
Zhang Qiaoteng sat up straight from his lazy chair and asked uncertainly, "One hundred?"
Jiang Yining nodded, "Yes, He Chi called a housekeeping service this morning. I asked Aunt Wang about it and I was also surprised at the time."
After Zhang Qiao was surprised, she thought for a moment and said, "Ningning, could you please help me find out if they're still accepting people?"
"You want to change your career? Are you sure?"
"It's not me," Zhang Qiao explained. "My mom was too tired as a confinement nanny before, so my dad didn't let her continue. But you also know that my mom can't sit still. She kept talking about finding a job."
Aunt Fan married early and gave birth to Zhang Qiao when she was 22 years old. So she will only be 50 years old next year.
Jiang Yining said, "I'm not familiar with this place. When He Chi gets off work, I'll take him with me to ask around."
Knowing that hiring housekeeping service was so expensive, and now that Jiang Yining was free, she found He Chi and asked him not to ask the aunt to come over for the next few days.
She prepared materials for training new teachers at home in the afternoon and came out of the study just as He Chi was about to get off work.
When He Chi got off work, Jiang Yining was busy in the kitchen. She received a call from her aunt, pressed the speakerphone button, and put the phone aside.
"Aunt."
"Ningning, are you busy?"
Jiang Yining slowly cut the washed tomatoes and said, "I'm not busy. I'm free now."
It just so happened that she also wanted to take some time out these few days to call her uncle and aunt, as she had not yet told them about getting the marriage certificate.
Ying Yun thought about it for a long time, not knowing how to bring it up to Jiang Yining.
She was silent for a long time. Jiang Yining guessed that her aunt had something difficult to say, so she asked, "Aunt, are you still being distant with me?"
"Ningning, auntie is really embarrassed to tell you."
"Your cousin's girlfriend is pregnant, and they are planning to get married. The girl's family hopes your cousin can have his own wedding house."
"Weddings and buying houses require a lot of money..."
