Chapter 30 Just Because She Is His Wife
Jiang Yining thought that the only thing her mother was worried about before she died was her, so she held her hand tightly and refused to let go.
She thought her mother must be blaming herself for not waiting until she got married and started a family.
Jiang Yining's eyes gradually became wet.
Zhang Qiao touched her mother's hand, "Mom, why are you bringing this up for no reason?" She took a tissue and wiped Jiang Yining's tears, "Don't cry. What if your husband thinks we're bullying you?"
Jiang Yining knew that Zhang Qiao was joking with her.
Fan Peihua didn't mean it. "Ningning, it's all my fault. How could I have made you cry?"
"Aunt Fan, I'm fine."
Seeing Jiang Yining wearing an apron, Fan Peihua stood up and said, "Let me make lunch, you guys take a rest."
Zhang Qiao held her down and said, "Mom, please sit still."
Jiang Yining took a breath and smiled, "Aunt Fan, Qiaoqiao is right. You two can't help today. I'll go to the kitchen first. You two can watch TV for a while."
Zhang Qiao waved her hand and said, "Just go ahead and do your thing. I can turn on the TV myself."
Jiang Yining returned to the kitchen and said, "Let me do it."
He Chi refused, "You command, I'll do it."
Jiang Yining paused, looked at He Chi's stiff movements, pursed his lips and said, "I'm afraid your cooking won't taste good."
He Chi: “…”
It seems that enrolling in classes is imminent.
He Chi carefully noticed that the corners of Jiang Yining's eyes were red. He frowned and asked, "Why are you crying?"
Jiang Yining usually looks a bit cold, but the more he gets to know her, the more he notices her contrast. She is easily shy and quite crybaby. This is the third time he knows she has cried.
Jiang Yining said in a muffled voice, "I'm fine. It's just that Aunt Fan mentioned my mother just now, and I felt sad for a moment."
He Chi has been thinking about one thing these past two days. He promised to take time to go with Jiang Yining to pay respects to his mother-in-law. "Let's go to my uncle's house for dinner tomorrow, and we'll go see my mother-in-law the day after tomorrow."
Jiang Yining said, "Let's go with my uncle tomorrow."
She explained, "My mother is buried in the cemetery on my uncle's side."
When my mother knew that her death was approaching, she specifically asked that she be closer to my grandparents after her death, and they were also buried in that cemetery.
He Chi had no objection. "Okay."
During lunch, Fan Peihua asked, "Ningning, when are you planning to have a baby?"
Hearing this, Jiang Yining almost choked. She blushed and said, "Aunt Fan, it's too early to ask this question. We haven't thought about it yet."
Seeing her reaction, Zhang Qiao knew that he was right.
These two people really sleep in separate rooms.
Fan Peihua said, "After you and Qiaoqiao have the baby, I will take care of you during the confinement period. I have more than ten years of experience as a confinement nanny. If your uncle Zhang hadn't told me to do this job again, I wouldn't want to change my career."
Zhang Qiao suggested, "Mom, how about we tell the person in charge of the housekeeping service center that we can't go?"
Fan Peihua hit her lightly and said, "You kid, one hundred an hour? To be frank, the three or four hours I work a day is enough for you to work a whole day. You don't want such a good job?"
Zhang Qiao said jokingly, "I heard you complain about not being able to be a confinement nanny."
"Can't you talk about it?"
Thinking of such a high hourly wage, Fan Peihua said, "Ningning, don't call housekeeping service from now on. I will come over every week to help you clean. I can also cook for you when I'm free after get off work."
Fan Peihua has always treated Jiang Yining as her half-daughter. When Du Ruo passed away, she was very sad as her best friend of many years and had taken good care of Jiang Yining over the years.
Jiang Yining immediately refused, "Aunt Fan, this won't work."
He Chi chi chimed in, "Aunt Fan, the salary for the Yuhubancheng housekeeping job is high, which also means that the service quality requirements are strict."
"It may seem like just cleaning and cooking, but almost every employer in Yuhubancheng has a large house with a lot of valuables, so you can't be careless when working. I basically work a full eight hours a day and am exhausted by the time I get off work."
Zhang Qiao said, "Mom, He Chi is right. This job may seem simple, but you must not take it lightly. If you can't do it, we can find other jobs or just rest at home."
Fan Peihua: "I understand."
She also heard it, and He Chi was reminding her kindly.
After leaving Jiang Yining's house, Zhang Qiao reminded him, "Mom, when assigning work here, unless the employer specifically requests it, it's all done randomly."
"That means you might end up working at Ningning and He Chi's house. Don't cross the line. You can say whatever you want to Ningning in private, but when you're working, you have to treat them as your employers. Do whatever they need, and don't make random suggestions."
Now that her daughter was worried about her, Fan Peihua felt relieved. She accepted Zhang Qiao's advice and said, "Okay, I'll remember that."
Zhang Qiao: "Also, if someone asks you where you work, don't tell them."
"This job pays well, and I don't know how many people are jealous. If you tell anyone, and they know it was Ningning who found you this job, it will get you in trouble."
Fan Peihua pondered for a moment, "I know, your mother didn't live for decades in vain."
"Don't even tell your dad about this. If he knows, your grandma will find out sooner or later. She's partial to your uncle's family and she'll be jealous to death."
…
In the evening, He Chi took Jiang Yining to Teacher Lin.
The senior high school students are now in class. Teacher Lin and Teacher He live not far from the school.
Jiang Yining was not used to going empty-handed, so she insisted on buying some fruit to take with her. When she was buying fruit, several students wearing the uniform of Lincheng No. 1 Middle School were in the store.
She remembered that she used to be like them, full of energy and full of expectations for the future, but everything changed since her mother fell ill.
I was in a daze all day, going back and forth between the hospital and school. My only wish was that my mother could suffer less and live a good life.
After entering the community, He Chi accommodated Jiang Yining's pace. He lowered his eyes to glance at Jiang Yining's slender fingers and walked a little closer to the left.
Jiang Yining's hand was held, and she looked down in surprise.
He Chi gave a reason that Jiang Yining couldn't refuse to hold hands with, "There are many acquaintances in the community."
Jiang Yining understood, she also liked being held by He Chi's hand.
Feeling the warmth that did not belong to her, Jiang Yining quietly curled up her fingers, as if to hold his hand back.
Jiang Yining knew that He Chi was serious about this marriage, so he took the initiative to get closer to her and narrow the distance between them.
Although He Chi treated her like this only because she was his wife and she had been secretly in love with He Chi for many years, Jiang Yining was already very satisfied with the current situation.
I don’t know if He Chi likes her in his heart, even a little bit.
Teacher Lin had been waiting for Jiang Yining for a long time. When she saw He Chi coming with some fruit, she said, "Yining, go back home now. You don't need to bring any more fruit."
He Chi asked, "Mom, I'm the one holding the fruit, but I can't buy it?"
Teacher Lin snorted with a smile, "You always come here empty-handed." She pointed to the kitchen and said, "Go help your dad."
Almost all the dishes cooked for dinner were Jiang Yining’s favorites.
Ever since Jiang Yining and He Chi got married, Teacher Lin has found He Chi much more pleasing to the eye.
Teacher He knew that He Chi was going to Jiang Yining's uncle's house tomorrow, so he took out almost all the good tea in the house and helped He Chi pack it in a gift box.
Before Jiang Yining and He Chi left, Teacher Lin had a private chat with He Chi.
She asked He Chi, "I heard from your aunt that Ling Yue works in our family company. Did you arrange for her to work there?"
He Chi did not deny, "Yes."
Lin Shu didn't have any opinion on this, but just reminded him, "He Chi, since you are married to Yining, you have to tell Yining about the Ling family's affairs."
It wasn't a big deal, and he wanted to find a chance to mention it to Jiang Yining. He Chi hummed, "I know."
