Chapter 85 "Pleasure"

Chapter 85 "Pleasure"

Jiang Yining shuddered and immediately became energetic after hearing what He Chi said, "I think I have more energy."

She swung her legs and said, "Put me down, I'll wash myself."

He Chi looked down at her and raised his eyebrows, "Are you sure?"

Jiang Yining nodded heavily, "Sure, absolutely sure!"

After his feet touched the ground, Jiang Yining exhaled deeply and ran towards the bedroom, not daring to delay for a moment.

After taking a shower, Jiang Yining felt his legs starting to feel sore. As expected, one shouldn’t run too hard at once.

When He Chi came out of the shower, he saw the person on the bed sleeping with his eyes closed. He turned off the lights and lay down on the bed.

He adjusted his sleeping position, and Jiang Yining beside him leaned over habitually and hugged his arms.

He Chi didn't know whether she was asleep or not, so he asked, "Are you still asleep?"

After waiting for a few seconds, Jiang Yining slowly said, "Falling asleep."

He Chi: “…”

While she was still asleep, He Chi mentioned to her, "Ling Yue resigned today."

Hearing this, Jiang Yining opened her eyelids and blinked, wanting to make sure she had heard correctly, "Ling Yue resigned?"

He Chi hummed, "You said you want to be independent, which is a good thing, and Uncle Ling and Aunt Mo both agree."

Jiang Yining didn't say anything. She didn't know Ling Yue, so it seemed that Ling Yue had really let it go.

The topic passed, and when Jiang Yining closed her eyes and went to sleep again, she heard He Chi say, "Brother Chuan sent me a message this afternoon, saying that they are all free this Saturday."

He asked Jiang Yining, "We're going to the Ling family on Saturday, are you free?"

Mid-Autumn Festival is on Friday, which is the weekend, so I don’t need to make an adjustment and can have three days off.

On the Mid-Autumn Festival, she and He Chi had to go back to her grandmother's house for a reunion dinner.

"When I'm free," she smiled at He Chi, "I miss Sister Qingya, too."

Speaking of Mid-Autumn Festival, Jiang Yining said to He Chi, "How about we go to my uncle's house for lunch on the day of Mid-Autumn Festival?"

"I asked my cousin today, but he had to be on duty that day, so only my uncle and aunt were home, and I was worried they would feel lonely."

He Chi said, "Of course."

After thinking for a moment, he asked, "Do you want me to send a box of mooncakes to your house?"

Jiang Yining's voice was filled with a hint of disgust. "No, I've already drawn a clear line between me and them. It's best if I never have anything to do with them again, so that I don't get upset just by seeing them."

He Chi didn't say anything else.

After saying that, Jiang Yining raised his eyes and looked at He Chi, "Anything else to say?"

“No more.”

Jiang Yining hugged his arm again, rested her head on his shoulder, and rubbed her cheek against his, "Then I'll go to sleep."

She closed her eyes and murmured, "I'm really asleep this time. I can't hear you anymore."

Hearing this, He Chi curled his lips and chuckled, then bent down and kissed her forehead, "Go to sleep."

The day before Mid-Autumn Festival, Jiang Yining originally wanted to send mooncakes to Zhang Qiao's home, thinking of waiting for Fan Peihua to get off work and give them to her.

Before Jiang Yining left the house, Fan Peihua came with mooncakes and fruits.

"Ningning, Qiaoqiao bought this box. She's busy with work, so she asked me to bring it to you."

"These two boxes were given to me by the Home Economics Center. Your uncle Zhang and I are old and don't like to eat mooncakes anymore, so I'll give them to you."

Jiang Yining looked at the three boxes of mooncakes sent by Fan Peihua with a headache. The two boxes sent by the home economics center were the same as those from her school.

He Chi said it tasted terrible.

She gave what she bought to Fan Peihua and said, "Aunt Fan, I won't go to your house anymore. If you don't want to eat it, you can give it to someone else."

Fan Peihua accepted it.

When He Chi got home from get off work, he saw three boxes of mooncakes on the coffee table and felt like throwing them all away.

He asked, “Where did this come from?”

"Aunt Fan sent them." She pointed to one of the boxes. "Qiaoqiao bought this one. I think it tastes good. These are all yours."

He Chi: “…”

Now he sees mooncakes the same way Jiang Yining sees seafood.

When He Chi went to Du Yingzhe's house on the Mid-Autumn Festival, he ignored the advice and insisted on taking all three boxes of mooncakes sent by Fan Peihua, in addition to the box he bought.

When He Chi came out of the Du family, he was holding five boxes of mooncakes in his hands, which he threw into the trunk.

Jiang Yining found it funny to see his melancholy face, "My uncle is not in good health and can't eat it, and my aunt doesn't like it either. I told her not to take it."

I originally brought four boxes, but not only did I not give them away, one box was given away instead.

He Chi started the car and headed towards He's house. "It's okay. Bring it back for Teacher He to eat."

When the two arrived at the He family, they saw boxes of mooncakes on the table as soon as they entered the living room.

The couple stopped at the same time and looked at each other silently. Jiang Yining whispered to He Chi, "If you don't want to eat it, you can take it to the bar and give it to the guests."

Even if he had ten stomachs, they wouldn't be enough to hold all those mooncakes.

He Chi thought Jiang Yining’s suggestion was good, so he put the mooncakes he had brought over.

Jiang Yining walked over first.

She saw that He Chi's aunt's niece was also there.

Seeing Jiang Yining, Li Luo stood up and explained with a smile, "Hello sister-in-law, my cousin is not at home, and my cousin's wife is pregnant and has difficulty moving, so I brought some gifts for them."

She looked at Lin Shu and said, "It's getting late, Aunt Lin. I'll go back first."

Li Luo smiled at Jiang Yining.

Jiang Yining also smiled at her.

After Li Luo left, Lin Shu said, "I guess Sun Qian didn't dare to let her aunt come over. Luo Luo is a very sensible child."

Jiang Yining asked curiously, "Mom, does Li Luo live with his aunt?"

Lin Shu nodded. "This child is quite pitiful. Both her parents are gone, and she has been living with her aunt."

"Auntie has nothing to say about her niece, but she is just a person..."

Lin Shu shook his head. "Forget it. Talking about people behind their backs is immoral."

She asked Jiang Yining, "Yining, didn't you and He Chi go to your uncle's house to give gifts? Why did you bring back such a thing?"

He Chi came over and said, "We brought it here specially to honor you."

Jiang Yining: “…”

She pointed at He Chi and said, "Mom, it's just him."

Lin Shu glanced at him and said, "If you don't want it, just leave it to me and your dad?"

He Chi glanced at someone who was gloating beside him and chuckled, "You said you would plead for me in the future, but if anything goes wrong, you'll sell me out first."

Jiang Yining originally wanted to say, "You didn't do anything to please me."

But when she thought that this man understood "pleasing" as "working hard" in that aspect, she didn't dare to say it.

Jiang Yining was really afraid that He Chi would say something shameless in front of Teacher Lin. After all, he really dared to do so.

She denied what she had said, "I didn't say that."

Jiang Yining stood up and didn't sit next to He Chi. She sat with Lin Shu, leaving He Chi sitting alone and helpless.

He Chi asked, "Mom, where are my dad and the others?"

Lin Shu peeled a sweet and sour orange for Jiang Yining and replied, "I went to the Song family with your grandmother. Old Mrs. Song was not feeling well. She went to take a look and will probably be back soon."

Jiang Yining saw an opened pomelo on the table, with the peel still intact and placed aside.

She suddenly wanted to make a lantern.

While grandma and the others were not back yet, Jiang Yining took He Chi out to buy some small lanterns.

After dinner, the family sat in the backyard, watching the moon and chatting. Jiang Yining and He Chi were fiddling with pomelo lanterns on a small stone table nearby.

Jiang Yining wanted to use a knife to carve, but He Chi took it first and said, "I'll do it."

She looked at He Chi's actions and couldn't help but said with a little disdain, "Just give it to me, you're clumsy."

The knife was taken away by Jiang Yining, but the person who was despised was not satisfied.

He got up and went to the next table to get an unopened pomelo, peeled the flesh and gave it to them.

Ten minutes later, Jiang Yining proudly showed He Chi her rabbit lantern and deliberately said, "Mine is done. Does it look good?"

He Chi looked up and saw her smiling triumphantly.

He raised his eyebrows. The brightness of the light was just right. Maybe it could be used for other purposes tonight.
