Chapter 31 Only time can tell
My uncle's house is not in the same district as Yuhubancheng. It takes He Chi nearly an hour and twenty minutes to drive there.
He Chi and Jiang Yining went to the mall to buy some souvenirs in the morning. They set off at ten o'clock and it was almost lunchtime when they arrived at their uncle's house.
When Du Yingzhe came back from shopping, he first saw Jiang Yining and saw her getting out of the passenger seat of a black Land Rover.
He called out, "Ningning."
When Jiang Yining saw him, he first smiled and said, "Cousin."
"Girl, go home at dinner time."
He Chi got out of the car.
Jiang Yining originally planned to act as a middleman to introduce them, but unexpectedly the two men had already shaken hands.
"He Chi."
"Du Yingzhe."
There is no need for too much formality between men of the same age.
Du Yingzhe always felt that He Chi looked familiar, but for a moment he couldn't remember where he had seen him.
He helped carry things and saw them bringing some red wine. He knew that it was bought specially for him by Jiang Yining.
Seeing the red wine, Du Yingzhe remembered, "He Chi, I think I've seen you at Shiyou Bar."
He Chi laughed and said, "That means we are destined to be together. Shiyou is a bar that my friends and I opened."
"I always felt that you looked familiar. It turns out I've seen you before."
Her uncle's house was self-built. As soon as she entered the house, Jiang Yining smelled a strong smell of Chinese medicine, and she heard a cough.
Jiang Yining quickened her pace and went in. The last time she came here was a month ago. She saw that her uncle had lost a lot of weight compared to the last time they met.
"uncle."
Du Sheng raised his head, a smile on his slightly pale face, "Ningning."
He looked outside the door and saw He Chi standing with his son.
He Chi specially wore a black shirt and trousers today. He stood with Du Yingzhe. He was a little taller than Du Yingzhe and looked more calm and cold.
As soon as Du Sheng saw He Chi, he knew that this young man was physically strong. The smooth muscle lines could be seen on the exposed part of his forearm.
During the years of his illness, Du Sheng has become more open-minded about many things. For an ordinary person, good health is the most important thing in life. As long as you don't get sick, it doesn't matter how much money you have.
When Du Sheng looked over, He Chi stepped forward and said humbly and respectfully, "Hello, uncle. I am He Chi."
When Du Sheng learned that Jiang Yining was getting married, he was so worried that he couldn't sleep the whole night. He didn't know what the other person looked like or what his character was like.
Now that he has seen it, at least he is relieved about the former. As for the latter, he can only leave it to the test of time.
Du Sheng responded, "Ningning, you and He Chi come sit with your uncle and chat with him."
Du Yingzhe poured them tea, then helped put everything away and planned to go to the kitchen to help his mother.
Jiang Yining said, "Uncle, I'll take He Chi to see my aunt first."
As soon as she finished speaking, Ying Yun came out. She smiled and said, "I vaguely heard a sound in the kitchen and thought I was hallucinating."
Du Yingzhe said, "Ningning, you don't know that your aunt has been hallucinating since she woke up this morning. She keeps asking us if Ningning is back."
As soon as he said this, everyone in the room laughed.
Ying Yun's attention was focused on He Chi. She thought to herself, "This boy is not bad. He looks even more handsome than her son. He has strong features and is tall."
He Chi and Jiang Yining both called her, but Ying Yun didn't respond.
Du Yingzhe leaned close to her ear and shouted, "Mom, the food is burnt."
Ying Yun was startled and hurriedly turned back to the kitchen before she realized, "What's so hot? I haven't even put it in the pot yet."
Jiang Yining laughed, "Aunt, I'll go help you."
Du Yingzhe held her down and said, "Today you can only sit still and chat with my dad."
Du Sheng said, "Ningning, listen to your cousin."
Jiang Yining originally wanted to go to the kitchen to talk to his aunt alone. His uncle was in poor health and he didn't want him to worry too much, so he could only find another opportunity.
Du Yingzhe and He Chi got along very well. The two men talked about everything from work to international politics, while Du Sheng listened to them quietly beside them.
Jiang Yining finally had the chance to talk to Ying Yun alone.
Ying Yun brought Jiang Yining to their bedroom. She spoke first, "Ningning, your uncle actually saved all the money you paid back before."
"He said your stepmother is obsessed with money, and you're just like your mother, both of you are soft-hearted. Your uncle is afraid that you will work, and Zhao Hong is keeping a close eye on you."
Ying Yun handed Jiang Yining a bank card. "Last night, your uncle told me to give you all the money as a dowry and add another 200,000 yuan. There are 400,000 yuan in this card."
Jiang Yining asked, "If you give me the money, what about my cousin?"
"Your uncle wants me to sell the house we live in now and live with your cousin and his family in the future. Your cousin also agrees with your uncle's idea."
Jiang Yining realized that his aunt didn't feel as relieved as she should have after solving the problem, and he understood.
My cousin agreed to live with his parents after marriage, but the girl might not agree.
Jiang Yining smiled and didn't take the bank card. Instead, she pushed it back and said, "Aunt, I can't accept this money. I appreciate your kindness. Thank you."
She smiled and asked, "Aunt, you've been busy all morning, haven't you checked your phone?"
Ying Yun said, "I didn't see it, what's wrong?"
Jiang Yining said in a coquettish tone, "Why don't you open your phone and take a look at the text messages now?"
She and He Chi went to the bank in the morning and transferred 500,000 yuan to her aunt's bank account. Judging from her aunt's reaction, it seemed that she had no idea about this.
Ying Yun glanced at the text message. Fearing she might be presbyopic, she put on her glasses and counted the numbers. She asked in surprise, "Ningning, did you forward this?"
Jiang Yining nodded, holding her hand and said, "Aunt, you don't have to worry about me. He Chi's family is well off, and we're not short of money at all. My uncle has to spend a lot of money every month to recuperate, and my cousin is getting married and buying a house. You need the money more than I do."
Ying Yun naturally understood what Jiang Yining said. She did not support the proposal of living with her son and daughter-in-law in the future.
She has feelings for her husband's niece, but they are not related by blood. She also loves Jiang Yining, but her son is obviously more important than Jiang Yining.
But in her husband's eyes, Jiang Yining is the only child left by his sister. If the family conditions were not as good as before, he would have wanted to give her more dowry.
She only found out last night that Du Sheng hadn't touched a single cent of the money Jiang Yining had repaid over the years. He had kept it all, perhaps because he was afraid she would have objections, so he had never mentioned it.
Ying Yun was unwilling in her heart.
This child is kind-hearted. Ying Yun covered her eyes and burst into tears, "Ningning, if your uncle hadn't collapsed, I wouldn't care about this small amount of money."
Jiang Yining hugged Ying Yun. She herself had experienced her mother's serious illness and had experienced the dilemma of being short of money.
"Aunt, don't mention this to my uncle, lest he think too much. Give this money to my cousin so he can buy the house as soon as possible and prepare for the wedding properly."
Ying Yun wiped her tears and said, "But how can I hide this from him?"
"Didn't my cousin trade stocks before?"
Ying Yun didn't even want to mention it, "It's so green, and I'm reluctant to take it out."
Jiang Yining suggested, "Have your cousin lie to your uncle and tell him that the price has increased significantly. Take out the money now, and add it to the principal to pay the down payment."
Ying Yun hesitated and asked, "How can your cousin make so much money with that little capital?"
"My uncle doesn't understand these things anyway, so I'll just lower the price when the time comes."
