Chapter 290 A Hua Po goes to Beijing

It was Ahuapo’s first time taking a train, and she was curious about everything she saw on the train. Every time she saw something, she would curiously ask Lin Yizhen about it.

Lin Yizhen also patiently explained everything to Ahua Po one by one.

But after half a day, Ahuapo no longer had the energy to wonder about what was happening on the train. She was old and had been exhausted by the bumpy ride.

Later, I was attracted by the novelties on the train and delayed my rest for a few hours.

After eating, Ahuapo could no longer hold on and fell asleep on the sleeper car. Lin Yizhen was worried that she was not sleeping well, so she quickly changed her position, covered her with a quilt, and then returned to her own bed.

Although there were only three people in Lin Yizhen's group, Zhuang Wei bought all four sleeper tickets in this carriage for fear that it would be inconvenient if a stranger came in.

So, there were only three of them in this carriage, and the other unoccupied berth was used to store lighter luggage.

With Lin Yizhen and Zhuang Weixing taking care of her along the way, Ahua Po had adapted well. Apart from being a little bored, she had no other problems.

When they arrived at the train station in Beijing, Zhuang Weixing carried the luggage, and Lin Yizhen supported Ahua Po as they walked out of the train station together.

No one knew they were back, so no one came to pick them up.

The three of them took a taxi at the train station and returned to the courtyard. Lin Yizhen arranged Ahua Po to live in their own courtyard.

It’s not that Lin Yizhen is stingy, but she is worried that Ahuapo will not be able to take care of her if something happens since they live in a separate yard. If something unexpected happens, she will regret it to death.

On the day she returned home, Lin Yizhen called her godfather and godmother and told them that Ahua Po had come to Beijing.

The next day, my godmother took a leave of absence and came back with bags of things, most of which were for Ahua Po, including food, daily necessities, and clothes.

In fact, Lin Yizhen planned to take Ahuapo to the department store to buy these things the next day. Unexpectedly, before they even left, the godmother brought these things over.

Now that we have what we need, let’s go strolling around the streets of Beijing with our godmother and Ahuapo!

That day, the three of them went to the New Year's goods street and watched a shadow play. Ah Hua Po was so happy that she said she had made the right decision to come to the capital.

Before dawn, Lin Yizhen and Wang Shumeng took Ahuapo to the largest square in Beijing to watch the flag-raising ceremony.

Worried that Ahua Po would catch a cold, Lin Yizhen not only dressed her in a thick cotton jacket and trousers, but also filled two hot water bottles for her to use in rotation.

Then we went to the cinema to watch the movie Tunnel Warfare, which moved Ahuapo to tears.

After watching the movie, the three of them went to eat the famous Beijing roast duck and packed up three to take back.

After lunch, Lin Yizhen originally wanted to take Ahuapo to climb the Great Wall, but Wang Shumeng was worried about Ahuapo's health, so they decided to go somewhere else.

Because other places can use tricycles. After all, Ahuapo is old and has bound feet, so she can't walk that far.

Lin Yizhen had actually forgotten about this matter. Fortunately, her godmother came along, otherwise she would have meant well but ended up with something worse.

After two days of playing, Ahuapo was probably tired. Later, no matter what Lin Yizhen and Wang Shumeng said, they were unwilling to go out. Finally, Lin Yizhen had to go to the Overseas Chinese Store to buy a color TV for Ahuapo to kill time.

There were not many TV programs at that time, but Ahua Po was still very happy.

Ahuapo didn't want to go out again, and Wang Shumeng didn't ask for leave to come over. Instead, she asked her daughter-in-law, who was already on vacation, to bring her grandson to accompany Ahuapo. With Hutou's company, Ahuapo's mood became even better.

Time goes by day by day, and the New Year's Day is getting closer and closer.

Lin Yizhen and her friends were celebrating the New Year in Beijing for the first time and were unfamiliar with the local customs. Therefore, they followed the customs of their hometown.

Steaming buns, frying twisted dough sticks, roasting melon seeds and peanuts, and making all kinds of novel candies made the little foodie Hu Tou very happy.

In Beijing, they also make snacks for the New Year, but Hutou has been eating them for so many years that he's become accustomed to them. But this year was different. He had never seen the food his aunt and her family made before.

Especially those colorful candies, I wonder what my aunt put in them? They are so beautiful and delicious.

That’s great! I wish my aunt and her family could celebrate the New Year in Beijing from now on.

Lin Yizhen didn't know what Hu Tou was thinking, otherwise she would definitely tell him: from now on, their family will celebrate the New Year in Beijing, and he can eat as much candy as he wants.

Xiao Defeng had not been able to come and see Ahua Po due to work reasons, until the third day of the New Year when he took time out to have dinner at the courtyard.

He then went back to work, and Lin Yizhen didn't see him again until school started.

However, Xiao Aijun had a few days off after the Chinese New Year, and brought his wife and son to accompany Ahuapo until she returned to the team.

After having dinner with Xiao Defeng, Ahuapo wanted to go back to her hometown. But Lin Yizhen and Wang Shumeng kept trying to keep her, saying that there were many interesting places in Beijing and asked her to stay for a few more days.

But when Lin Yizhen started school and the weather gradually warmed up, Ahuapo refused to stay in the capital any longer and kept talking about going home.

Lin Yizhen knew that being able to stay in the capital for so long was already Ahuapo's limit.

Now that the weather is warmer, it's time to farm. But Ahua Po, who has been dealing with the land all her life, can no longer stay here.

She had to hurry home to plant the crops and till the vegetable patch in the yard. After a winter, the soil had frozen hard, and the field would become barren in the long run, which was something Ahuapo didn't want to see.

Lin Yizhen and Wang Shumeng realized that they couldn't keep her, so they had to let her go back.

But Lin Yizhen couldn't ask for leave from school, and everyone was worried about her going back alone, so they had to ask Zhuang Weixing to postpone his trip to Yuncheng and send Ahuapo back first.

Originally, Zhuang Weixing had planned to do so, but at that time Ahua Po had not said she wanted to go back, so he didn't want to say it.

Otherwise, Ahua Po would think he was going to drive her away! That would be bad.

In order to send Ah Hua Po back, Lin Yizhen called home and asked Ah Hua Po to leave on her day off so that she could go to the train station to see them off.

Ahua Po agreed and set the time for her return home for this Sunday. Zhuang Weixing then asked Xiao Chen to buy them two soft sleeper tickets and send the things he had bought for Ahua Po in Beijing back in advance.

On Sunday, after Lin Yizhen sent the two of them on the train, she called Cao Aiguo and asked him to pick them up at the train station.

There were so many people at the train station, and with so much luggage, Zhuang Weixing might not be able to take care of it all by himself. Lin Yizhen called Cao Aiguo because she knew something happened to Ahua Po.

After everything was arranged, Lin Yizhen went to school with peace of mind.

After Ahua Po left, Wang Shumeng, Lin Yizhen and others returned to their previous lives, but the entire Lizhuang production team was in an uproar because of Ahua Po's return.
