Chapter 104 Staying Overnight

Upon hearing this, Liu Chunhe paused for a moment, lowered her head, gritted her teeth, and seemed to struggle internally for a while.

Then, he raised his head, his gaze firm, and nodded emphatically.

"I dare. Sister Su Qingzhi, every word I said is true. I'm not afraid of confrontation, nor am I afraid of their retaliation."

"OK."

Su Qingzhi replied with only one word, her tone indifferent yet conveying a sense of trust.

She then turned her head to look at Shen Cunpu, who had been standing to the side, and nodded slightly to him.

In the instant their eyes met, they both understood what the other meant.

Keep a close eye on Zhu Xiuqin and her family, and don't give them any opportunity to collude or destroy evidence.

Su Qingzhi picked up the bucket of water and turned to leave.

His steps were steady, and his back was straight.

She walked about a hundred meters and, after confirming that no one was around, quietly stopped.

Then, she flipped her hand, and the bucket, along with the water inside, vanished instantly.

She continued walking, passing through several paths, and finally arrived at the square at the entrance of the village.

Her bicycle was parked there.

She deftly pushed the cart, straddled the seat, and with a push of her feet, the wheels began to creak and groan as they spun.

She hadn't ridden far when she turned a corner and unexpectedly saw a figure leaning against a tree by the roadside, looking in her direction.

Su Qingzhi was stunned for a moment, then she saw the person's face clearly.

It turned out to be Shen Zhiyu.

"A-Shuo? What are you doing here?"

She slammed on the brakes, a hint of surprise appearing on her face.

Shen Zhiyu stepped forward and grabbed her hand.

He looked directly into her eyes, his tone firm.

"I've come to find you."

Su Qingzhi was stunned for a moment, then smiled and tightly grasped his hand.

"Then you sit in the back, I'll take you back."

"good."

Shen Zhiyu responded readily and swiftly.

He quickly walked around to the back of the bicycle, flipped himself over, and sat down.

He immediately wrapped his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly.

Finally, they rode to the entrance of the military dependents' compound.

Shen Zhiyu glanced back at the darkening sky before following Su Qingzhi into the house.

Dinner consisted of two simple dishes prepared by Su Qingzhi, and the two chatted about everyday things while eating.

After dinner, everyone washed up and returned to their rooms. Only then did Su Qingzhi tell Shen Zhiyu what had happened at Zhu Xiuqin's house that afternoon.

When the mention of the bucket of water being tampered with and adulterated with some kind of "poison" was made, Shen Zhiyu's brows furrowed sharply, and a hint of vigilance flashed in his eyes.

He murmured.

"Poison? This idea... I feel like I've heard something similar somewhere before."

Su Qingzhi noticed that his expression was off, so she asked him.

"Do you know something?"

Shen Zhiyu did not answer immediately, but instead fell into memories.

Just as he was about to ask for more details, Su Qingzhi said something else.

"Wait a moment."

Before she finished speaking, she flipped her hand, and a bucket of clear water appeared out of thin air on the floor beside the bed.

Then, she took out the remaining half packet of white powdered medicine from her storage space and neatly placed it on the corner of the table.

Shen Zhiyu, who was sitting down, froze instantly upon seeing this scene.

He always believed in science and was convinced that everything in the world had a physical explanation, and that talk of ghosts and gods was pure nonsense.

But ever since he saw her take out the spiritual spring water, his worldview has begun to waver.

But now, things can actually appear and disappear out of thin air?

This was completely beyond his understanding of the laws of physics!

He slowly raised his head and looked at Su Qingzhi.

She was smiling at him, her eyebrows curved and her eyes sparkling.

Shen Zhiyu opened his mouth, his voice trembling slightly.

"Qingzhi...you...you wouldn't happen to be a monster in disguise, would you?"

Su Qingzhi was taken aback at first, then couldn't help but burst out laughing.

She raised her hand and gently poked his forehead.

"Then guess what kind of monster I am? A fox? A snake? Or... a thousand-year-old painted skin?"

Shen Zhiyu blurted it out without hesitation.

"cat."

Su Qingzhi was curious.

"Why is it a cat?"

Shen Zhiyu looked at her with a serious expression.

"Because when you first saw me, your eyes were like that, bright and lively like a wildcat, blinking and hiding your thoughts. I thought to myself then, this girl is not simple."

After hearing this, Su Qingzhi suppressed a laugh and deliberately drew out her tone, letting out a soft "meow~".

Shen Zhiyu was stunned.

He asked, stammering.

"Nian, Qingzhi...you...you...could you really be...a cat in disguise?"

This time, Su Qingzhi could no longer hold back and burst into laughter.

"Haha, Ashu, you're hilarious! How did you even come up with that idea!"

After she had laughed enough, she wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, stopped laughing, and said seriously.

"I am not a monster, but I do possess extraordinary abilities. Have you ever heard of 'Sumeru in a Mustard Seed'?"

Shen Zhiyu was taken aback, then nodded, his voice lowering slightly.

“I’ve heard of it. I once read it in an ancient book, which said, ‘A world is contained in a grain of sand, and the universe is contained in a drop of water.’ Later, that kind of book was banned and could no longer be circulated.”

He suddenly realized what was happening, his pupils contracted sharply, and his voice carried a hint of disbelief.

"So, you have that kind of thing?"

"Um."

Su Qingzhi nodded gently, her tone calm but revealing a hint of smugness.

"A very small space that can hold a lot of things and people."

Shen Zhiyu's mind was in complete turmoil.

That feeling was so familiar it made him uneasy, exactly the same as when he first used the spiritual spring water.
