With a muffled "crack," a large section of the cup wall dented instantly.
Director Zhong's pupils suddenly contracted.
He never expected that this seemingly quiet and frail girl would be so steady in her movements.
The force was controlled with precision down to the millimeter.
But such skills are only considered entry-level in special operations units.
That little bit of skill wasn't enough to sway his decision.
He was about to say, "Although you are quite skilled, you are not particularly outstanding here."
Before he could finish speaking, his throat suddenly tightened, and he froze on the spot.
Because these words were spoken by Su Qingzhi without any discrepancy.
Director Zhong suddenly stood up and stared at Su Qingzhi.
"What's wrong with you? How could you possibly know what I was going to say?"
Su Qingzhi smiled slightly.
She mimicked Shen Zhiyu's tone and rhythm, speaking in a low voice in almost the exact same way.
"You've lost your composure."
This completely stunned Director Zhong.
His eyes had been fixed on Su Qingzhi's face the whole time.
There was no third person in the room, nor were there any disguises or traps.
The sound came directly from her mouth.
Not only is the timbre similar, but even the slight guttural sounds and the downward placement of the final consonant are exactly the same as Shen Zhiyu's.
Without further hesitation, he pulled out a blank work permit application form from the drawer and quickly filled in all the information.
A red stamp is affixed to the bottom, and the edges of the paper gleam slightly, signifying that the identity has officially taken effect.
The moment she received the document, Su Qingzhi looked down at the hard card with the number and badge printed on it.
She finally felt at ease.
Just then, the office door was pushed open.
Shen Zhiyu strode in and went straight to the table.
He took out a tiny listening device, smaller than a fingernail, from his inner pocket and handed it to Director Zhong.
Have you ever heard of Li Haitang?
Director Zhong nodded.
"Is this the girl who stayed at your place? The first time she came to your place, I had my men investigate her background. On the surface, her identity, background, and experience were all clear and there wasn't a single flaw. But the clearer it was, the more uneasy I felt. So I've been secretly keeping an eye on her movements. Although I haven't found anything substantial, I always feel that some details are a bit off. What's wrong? Is something going wrong?"
Shen Zhiyu and Su Qingzhi didn't hide anything either.
He recounted in detail all the things they had discussed repeatedly in the car.
"Okay, I understand."
“Your assessment is sound, and I will report the situation immediately. Once Lone Wolf confirms the news, you can officially set off to carry out the mission. However, before that, we must keep a close eye on Li Haitang’s movements in the next two days. She is a key figure now, and we cannot afford to be negligent in any way.”
"clear."
Shen Zhiyu nodded immediately.
"Also, remind your brother to be careful with Shen Feng. After all, he has the most contact with that person and his position is the most sensitive. If anything happens, he could be the first target."
Upon hearing this, Shen Zhiyu stopped and turned around with a smile.
“My brother is much smarter than me, and he’s very meticulous. He may seem nonchalant, but he’s actually very perceptive. I reckon he probably already sensed that something was wrong with Li Haitang, but he just hasn’t found any concrete evidence yet, so he’s been holding back.”
After explaining the situation, the three of them remained silent.
Director Zhong waved his hand, indicating that they could leave.
Shen Zhiyu and Su Qingzhi then turned and left the room.
As soon as she got into the car and closed the door, Su Qingzhi couldn't help but laugh.
Shen Zhiyu glanced at her, started the car, and asked softly.
"So happy? Is it really that big of a deal?"
Of course!
"From now on, I can go with you on missions! I no longer have to worry all day about whether you are injured, whether you are in danger, or whether you will come back... These days of anxiety are finally over."
Upon hearing this, Shen Zhiyu's ear tips turned slightly red.
Seeing that he didn't speak, Su Qingzhi playfully reached out her hand.
I gently patted his cheek.
"Focus on driving, don't get distracted. The road is not a place for heart-to-heart talks, safety first."
Shen Zhiyu immediately turned his head to look ahead and responded in a low voice.
"knew."
The car was quiet for a few seconds, and then she spoke again slowly.
"Actually, you know what? Men who are well-dressed and serious about their work are much more interesting than men who are naked."
As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Zhiyu's face instantly burned.
Su Qingzhi couldn't help but laugh at his embarrassed appearance.
"Haha...you're overreacting! I haven't even said anything yet, and you're already blushing like this?"
Shen Zhiyu coughed twice, trying to cover up his embarrassment.
"Niannian, we're almost home."
"Yeah, we're almost there. What's up?"
Su Qingzhi raised her head and looked at the familiar courtyard not far ahead, her face blank.
The car slowly came to a stop in front of the gate.
Su Qingzhi excitedly unbuckled her seatbelt and bounced as she pushed open the car door.
Before the first person could even stand still after running into the yard, Shen Zhiyu called out from behind.
"Niannian, let's go back inside. There's something I want to discuss with you."
Upon hearing this, the other family members immediately stopped responding.
Everyone knew perfectly well that they had something important to discuss.
Even Su Qingzhi herself thought that the topic was about going to Yunnan Province.
