The more she thought about it, the more flustered she became, and she quickly changed her words.
"Oh, really, there's no need to make such a fuss! I'll just apologize, that's all. Kids fall and bump into things all the time. Who hasn't been pushed when they were little? Is it really necessary to take it so seriously?"
"That won't do."
Su Qingzhi stopped and turned to stare at Li Yunduo.
“If it is truly the children who have made a mistake, we, as elders, should educate them and teach them to admit their mistakes and correct them. But if it is adults who bully children, taking advantage of their strength and status to oppress the weak, then it cannot be resolved with just an apology.”
"We absolutely cannot turn a blind eye to this kind of thing. If we condone it once, we'll condone it a thousand times over. If she dares to lay a hand on us today, she'll dare to escalate the situation even further tomorrow!"
Li Yunduo's face instantly turned ashen.
"I've already bowed my head and apologized, what more do you want?"
She gritted her teeth, her eyes blazing with anger.
Just as the two were locked in a stalemate, a male voice suddenly came from behind them.
What are you all standing here for?
The three of them turned their heads at the same time.
Shen Zhiyu was standing at the end of the corridor.
He was holding a yellowed brown paper bag in his hand; he had originally come to deliver a document to Su Qingzhi.
But before we even got close, we could see a group of people gathered there from afar.
Upon closer inspection, Su Qingzhi was leading two children with red eyes, while Li Yunduo stood beside her with an unpleasant expression.
He frowned and quickened his pace as he walked over.
This matter is also inextricably linked to Li Yunduo.
Shen Zhiyu knows this person too well.
Li Yunduo appears to be enthusiastic and capable on the surface, but in reality, she is extremely calculating and acts entirely out of self-interest.
She had inquired about Zhenzhen's situation many times before and offered to "help the factory share the burden" by applying for adoption.
However, problems arose as soon as the materials were submitted for review.
Her family's financial situation was actually not bad; they even had some savings, so they did not meet the criteria for priority adoption of children of martyrs.
More importantly, she repeatedly mentioned things like "the money the government gives us every month" during the conversation, revealing a calculating nature in her words.
This blatant utilitarian mentality is obvious to everyone.
It's no surprise that the factory ultimately rejected her application.
Before Li Yunduo could even explain, Su Qingzhi spoke up without hesitation.
"Factory manager, it was Li Yunduo who just loudly scolded the two children in front of everyone and even pushed Zhenzhen!"
Upon hearing this, Shen Zhiyu frowned.
He slowly scanned everyone present, his gaze finally settling on Zhenzhen in the corner.
“Zhenzhen, tell me what happened. Don’t be afraid, tell me slowly.”
Zhenzhen hesitated for a moment, then took two steps forward.
As soon as she raised her head, she was met with Li Yunduo's eyes, which were wide red.
"Comrade Li, why are you staring at the child so intently?"
Upon seeing this, Su Qingzhi immediately stepped in front of Zhenzhen.
"How old is he? Can't he talk things out properly?"
Li Yunduo's heart skipped a beat, and her face instantly turned ashen.
She hurriedly lowered her head, clutching the hem of her dress tightly with both hands.
"Zhenzhen, don't be afraid."
Shen Zhiyu took half a step forward.
"You're speaking to the organization now. As long as you tell the truth, no one can bully you, and no one dares to lay a finger on you. Understand?"
Zhenzhen nodded vigorously.
From Li Yunduo's cold words when she entered the door, to her pointing at Zhenzhen and calling her a "bad luck," to Zhouzhou trying to defend her brother but being pushed away by her...
Every detail is crystal clear.
While listening, Shen Zhiyu observed Li Yunduo's reaction without making a sound.
As Zhenzhen continued speaking, he noticed that fine beads of sweat were gradually appearing on Li Yunduo's forehead.
"Factory manager, can we really believe a child's side of the story?"
Li Yunduo finally couldn't help but speak up.
"I didn't do anything! I was just reminding them to be disciplined! How did that become 'being harsh' to them? This is clearly a frame-up!"
She spoke rapidly, trying to hide her inner turmoil.
Shen Zhiyu glanced at her indifferently and did not respond to her explanation.
He calmly took out a document stamped with a red seal from his briefcase, turned around and handed it to Su Qingzhi.
"This is Zhenzhen's official adoption certificate. The paperwork is complete, the process is compliant, and it has been approved by the authorities. Please keep it safe."
Su Qingzhi was stunned.
His eyes widened as he stared at the name beneath the bright red seal, his fingertips trembling slightly.
She never imagined this day would come so suddenly.
When Li Yunduo heard the words "adoption certificate," her face turned ashen.
Once that document is handed over, it means she has completely lost her eligibility to fight for custody.
All the scheming, thoughts, and intentions vanished into thin air.
"Thank you so much, Factory Manager! Thank you so much!"
Su Qingzhi snapped out of her daze, her voice choked with emotion as she took the document and carefully cradled it in her arms.
Upon hearing this, Zhenzhen's previously tense face immediately broke into a smile.
His eyes lit up, and he hugged Su Qingzhi's arm tightly.
"Aunt Ning, are you my mother?"
Shen Zhiyu then slowly turned around to face Li Yunduo.
"Comrade Li Yunduo, let me repeat it again. Battalion Commander Lu and his wife went through layers of review, including political vetting, family background investigation, psychological assessment, and a three-month observation period. All of these steps were completed without any problems before the organization officially approved them to become Zhenzhen's legal guardians."
"Your actions today not only hurt the child emotionally, but also blatantly challenged the organization's decision. So now, please answer me: do you think our decision is unreasonable?"
