Chapter Sixty-Seven

Zhang Xu examined the bell for a long time but couldn't see any spiritual energy in it. Not only was it rustic, but it was also tattered.

He shook his head. It seemed legends were just legends after all. This continent only produced one person with the potential to become an immortal every few hundred years; there simply weren't that many immortals. The time frame was too long; many immortals had become symbols recorded in history books. Where could anyone have ever seen a living, breathing immortal?

Zhang Xu shook her head and casually stuffed the bell into her pocket. Where she couldn't see, the stains on the bell's surface faded, revealing its snow-white interior.

Upon seeing this, Yan Chenghuan said something completely out of the blue: "Since I've given it to you, just take it!"

Zhang Xu was completely bewildered. Just as she was about to ask what it meant, she saw Yan Chenghuan walk towards the Spring Breeze Inn with his hands behind his back.

A tall, slender young man with a high ponytail, his light yellow clothes billowing gracefully in the wind. He was as pure as the morning dew on a peony, his captivating beauty breathtaking.

He seemed to have lost much of his gloomy aura, and now he looked incredibly bright. As he walked down the street, he attracted the attention of a group of young girls.

What are you going there for?

Yan Chenghuan shrugged: "Let's catch up!"

"Why do you have so many old stories to tell now that you've arrived in Miluo City?"

"I didn't spring from a rock, so isn't it normal to have old friends here?"

Zhang Xu didn't know what Yan Chenghuan had gone through during the year she was asleep, but judging from his current condition, it seemed to be going well.

The landlady of Chunfeng Inn still looked alluring and charming. When she saw Yan Chenghuan, she smiled and tried to lean on him, but Yan Chenghuan subtly dodged away.

"Oh dear! Young master, you have absolutely no sense of romance!"

Yan Chenghuan stepped back to the threshold, her face expressionless: "You still can't remember when you saw him?"

Upon hearing his question, the proprietress clutched her head and cried out "Ouch!" as she was about to collapse. Immediately, someone rushed out to support her, shouting, "Be careful!"

Zhang Xu looked at that person, and suddenly inhaled a breath that she couldn't exhale.

The person supporting the landlady was none other than Chunhua, who had died earlier.

Zhang Xu pointed at the person but couldn't speak for a long time. Chunhua kindly put her finger down: "Don't worry, I'm still alive!"

Seeing her looking frightened, Yan Chenghuan said helplessly, "So timid?"

"What kind of place is this?!"

"You're not even afraid of a half-demon like me, so why would you be afraid of a true demon?"

"This kind of resurrection is much scarier than you half-demon, after all, I've never seen your demon form."

"Does that mean you're no longer afraid after you've seen it?"

Yan Chenghuan found it somewhat amusing, but his words were full of intimidation. Zhang Xu shook her head, a sense of foreboding washing over her, and she turned and ran.

No one was chasing them.

The innkeeper looked at Yan Chenghuan and asked, "Young master, what do you plan to do?"

"What else can we do? We'll just have to do it this way!"

What kind of place is Miluo City?

"Although Miluo City may seem like a remote little town, it is actually a gathering place for many demons. Demons are despised by humans, so they cannot survive in the human world and have to find their own place to live. Miluo City is said to be protected by demon immortals, so righteous cultivators generally do not set foot here."

Zhang Xu only came to her senses after hearing Zhuang Xiyue's explanation.

"Is Lord Zhuang even human? How did he become the lord of this city?"

Zhuang Xiyue said mysteriously, "Because my dad has someone backing him."

Zhang Xu?
