Chapter 48 Bamboo Sword Scripture

After swiftly and efficiently dispatching several demonic beasts, Lu Zhaozhao weighed the bag of demon cores at her waist.

She stayed on the outermost layer for a day. Except for those whose cultivation was below the late Golden Core stage, everyone else went to the next level. The reason she stayed here was twofold: first, to consolidate her newly broken-through realm, which required some intense combat to stimulate her; and second, to test the new moves she had comprehended in the final battle of the first level.

She had never noticed the scriptures on the bamboo sword before, but when it was accidentally summoned and formed a cage last time, she read through the text thoroughly.

It is the Ksitigarbha Sutra, and her name in this world is also related to it.

I observe that all sentient beings in Jambudvipa (the southern continent) commit sins in every thought and action.

She carved the bamboo sword in the image of Ni Ye, and the sword intent it originally contained was exactly the same as Ni Ye's. Master Jingwen may have sensed the evil thoughts in her heart from the beginning, and used this to admonish her to discipline herself and maintain a clear mind.

Unfortunately, such goodwill was still used as a means of fighting against others in her hands.

She tested the Heart Sutra on the outermost layer of the bamboo sword. It could be drawn out with just a thought, coiling and floating around the bamboo sword, moving according to her will.

What surprised her even more was that perhaps the desires and karmic burdens of the demonic path in the Western Realm were too heavy, and the Heart Sutra had a stronger restraining effect on them compared to ordinary cultivators.

This is clearly demonstrated right before our eyes.

Before her stood twin white wolves, the most powerful demonic beast she had encountered so far since entering the next level. In terms of cultivator levels, they were at the late Nascent Soul stage, a level stronger than Lu Zhaozhao.

Whether it was the contestant it found or the contestant coveted its demon core, when Lu Zhaozhao saw it, a contestant with half an arm missing was lying on the ground trembling.

Coincidentally, the man was the same burly man carrying a serrated knife who was the first to enter from the entrance.

He was so frightened that he lost his mind, and Lu Zhaozhao pieced together the whole story from his fragmented words.

He teamed up with three others, and together they killed many demonic beasts along the way, filling each of their pockets with demon cores. They couldn't help but feel proud of themselves, so when they encountered the white wolf, although this demonic beast was far stronger than them, they believed that as long as they cooperated well, this white wolf would be no different from the previous demonic beasts.

But fate had other plans. Before they could even cooperate, the white wolf broke through their lines, and in the blink of an eye, one of them lost his life.

Only then did the group realize they had provoked a monster they shouldn't have, and they hurriedly tried to retreat. But the white wolf was terrifyingly fast, and in no time at all, it devoured two more, leaving only the burly man trembling alone. He had barely managed to defend himself for one round when his arm was bitten off.

Lu Zhaozhao realized that the white wolf was probably just tired and wanted to tease the big man; otherwise, given the difference in their strength, the big man probably wouldn't have survived a single round.

The burly man lost his breath and fainted before he could say much. Lu Zhaozhao quickly bandaged him up and then looked at the white wolf who was cautiously observing her from a distance.

White wolves are rare, and twin white wolves are even rarer.

No wonder, it looks a bit younger than the surrounding monsters, yet its cultivation level is so high; it's highly likely that it has the advantage of its race.

Lu Zhaozhao looked at it and became more and more satisfied. She was just worried about not being able to find a suitable practice subject, but unexpectedly, this one came to her door.

With a flick of his bamboo sword, he aimed straight for the head, and the white wolf, without hesitation, immediately launched his attack.

"boom--"

The sword clashed with the sharp teeth, but it was the stronger white wolf that was sent flying.

The scripture appeared, and on one side of its head, a patch of fur was burned off near its mouth, dripping blood.

Lu Zhaozhao looked at the bamboo sword with surprise, raised her eyebrows and smiled lightly. She hadn't expected the bamboo sword to be so powerful.

If she's right, the more sins committed, the more harm she will suffer from the scriptures.

Clearly, the sins committed by these twin white wolves were far greater than those of the monsters they had encountered before.

Enraged, the white wolf transformed into lightning and charged towards Lu Zhaozhao.

As Lu Zhaozhao watched the afterimage appear in the air, the smile on her lips became even more pronounced.

She silently recited the scriptures and brandished her bamboo sword. A cage even more dazzling and powerful than the one that had previously trapped Nan Rongrui and Changyu Lanshan appeared out of nowhere, and the edifying and cleansing power of the scriptures was fully displayed at this moment.

The white wolf seemed to sense a threat, stopped abruptly, and hesitated before retreating.

Lu Zhaozhao pressed closer, and the moment it turned around, she raised her sword and stood up, while the cage that was about to fall from the sky also fell rapidly.

The white wolf darted about, using its agile movements and terrifying speed to evade capture. Several times, the scripture cage was about to trap it, but it managed to dodge with a quick turn.

Lu Zhaozhao stopped, glanced at the surrounding terrain, and decisively swung her sword to unleash the Qingming Sword Style.

Qingyang emphasizes speed, and all his attacks are swift sword strikes.

In the short span of breath, countless sword strikes were unleashed, each one snapping the branch it corresponded to.

The trees on the surrounding mountain walls snapped off and rolled down at the same time, causing the ground to undulate continuously.

Amidst billowing dust, broken branches and trunks from all sides fell to the ground almost simultaneously, completely surrounding Lu Zhaozhao and the white wolf.

The situation is like a caged animal, with the tamer and the beast facing each other from afar. Either the beast bites the tamer's neck, or the tamer completely subdues the beast.

Realizing this, the twin white wolves immediately turned and attacked Lu Zhaozhao, their eyes bloodshot, wanting to fight to the death and fight to the bitter end.

Lu Zhaozhao saw through its intentions, and before its sharp teeth could reach it, the cage formed by the scriptures fell down and trapped it.

The cage kept shrinking, trapping it tightly, making it unable to move anymore.

Lu Zhaozhao approached, her wolf eyes filled with resentment, but weren't those she had eaten before just as bad? The law of the jungle is the survival of the fittest.

Lu Zhaozhao gripped her bamboo sword tightly, about to extract the elixir, when suddenly an arrow streaked across the sky, killing the white wolf before she could react.

Lu Zhaozhao looked up, her gaze icy.

Not far away, a man stands with his back to the setting sun, holding a bow and arrow.

The light and shadow fell on him, revealing a familiar figure and an unfamiliar face to Lu Zhaozhao.

That was Cheng Sang Ge without his mask.

I've seen him once before in the first round of the competition; this is the second time.

This time, he stood alone in the sunset, revealing his ever-present smile.

In contrast to his warm smile was Lu Zhaozhao's icy expression.

If you were to ask her who she least wanted to see in the Western Regions, her answer would undoubtedly be Cheng Sangji. Ever since she met him, every encounter had been filled with scheming and struggle.

But the culprit in front of her seemed oblivious to this. At this moment, he reached out his hand to Lu Zhaozhao, his eyes crinkling with a smile, looking at the gentle spring breeze. But in Lu Zhaozhao's eyes, it was a fox hiding its tail, luring her into a trap.

He said, "Guan Nan, shall we cooperate?"
