Chapter 94 Water Monster

It is well known that the more you fear something happening, the more likely it is to happen.

Because of the earlier delay caused by the wounded, Lu Zhaozhao and her group were already too far behind the preceding boat when they set off again. In the empty cave, the lone boat floated forlornly on the water.

The disciples traveling with him prayed with great concern, hoping that the rest of the journey would go more smoothly.

Although the others didn't say it aloud, they also harbored some hope in their hearts.

We drove smoothly for a short distance, the wind and water were calm, and it seemed that nothing unexpected would happen.

But in that very atmosphere, the bottom of the ship was suddenly struck by a violent impact.

"ah--"

The fellow disciples cried out, and the boat swayed from side to side with the impact, forcing everyone to hold on tightly to the sides of the boat to avoid falling overboard and suffering the same fate as the disciple in front of them.

"What on earth is that?!"

Someone shouted in panic, but no one could answer him at the moment.

"Bang—bang bang—"

After several more impacts, the boat lost its balance and looked like it was about to capsize.

not good!

Lu Zhaozhao immediately realized that she was at the stern of the boat, which was now almost perpendicular to the water.

Without thinking, she raised her hand, gathered her strength in her palm, and then slammed it hard on the stern of the boat.

"bump--"

Under the force of the palm, the stern quickly fell back down in the direction it had risen, but the impact below did not stop.

"That was close! Luckily, the fairy reacted in time."

A fellow traveler at the bow of the boat shouted.

But Lu Zhaozhao's heart was still in suspense.

"We have to get rid of that thing underneath, or this ship won't be safe!"

She shouted, then cast a spell, tentatively splashing water into the water.

"Thump."

Something jumped out of the water and then fell back into the water.

"Bring me a candle!"

Lu Zhaozhao made a quick decision, took the candle handed to her by Master Bai Yuan, and held it close to the water's surface, intending to cast the spell again.

Everyone on the ship was staring in her direction.

Just as she was holding her breath, something suddenly darted out from beside her and struck her hand at incredible speed.

"careful!"

As Bai Yuanshi spoke, the bamboo flute was already being swung towards the object.

With a muffled thud, the bamboo tube struck the object squarely. Bai Yuanshi flicked his wrist, using the force to send the object flying toward the boat.

There was another commotion on the water's surface. Lu Zhaozhao quickly withdrew her hand, and just as her hand returned to the boat, something else flew out of the water at an extremely fast speed and then fell back down.

A bright light emanated from his side, indicating that Master Bai Yuan was casting a sealing spell.

Lu Zhaozhao turned around and saw a strange and terrifying-looking thing tightly bound under the silvery-white incantation strips. It looked like some kind of fish.

"What kind of monster is this?"

Someone spoke up.

Bai Yuanshi shook his head, indicating that he did not know, and then turned to look at Lu Zhaozhao.

Lu Zhaozhao carefully observed its appearance.

Its head is flat and broad, with eyes sunken deep into its skull, gleaming with a cold light. Its skin is dark black, covered with thick scales, and its dorsal fin is covered with sharp spines, which are now rising up as it struggles.

This was a monster she had never seen before. Even if it was some kind of fish, it was still alive after being out of the water for so long, which was truly unbelievable.

Lu Zhaozhao shook her head; she really had no recollection of this thing.

Bai Yuanshi fell silent, and the others on the boat also stared at it.

"You monster, you're the one who injured that junior brother! I'll destroy you!"

One of the disciples, who had just been frightened, was so angry that he reached out to crush it.

"stop!"

Lu Zhaozhao and Bai Yuanshi shouted in unison, reaching out to stop them, but they were too late.

The disciple's hand had already fallen, and the powerful true energy in his palm seemed to be sensed by the imprisoned monster, which began to thrash about.

Just as Lu Zhaozhao had figured out how to catch another one, an unexpected event occurred.

With one strike, the monster was unharmed, but the disciple's hand was pierced by the spikes, and he was now howling in pain.

The incident happened so suddenly that Lu Zhaozhao was also stunned for a moment.

When she came to her senses, she saw that the wound was starting to change color, and a terrible thought immediately came to her mind.

"You've been poisoned?"

Lu Zhaozhao asked the disciple who was still howling.

The disciple was clearly stimulated by the pain and did not immediately understand what Lu Zhaozhao was saying. After he came to his senses, he took a closer look at his hand.

In the candlelight, one could vaguely see that the wound had turned black, and the monster hanging on it was still moving its body.

Bai Yuanshi immediately pulled his hand, used another spell to trap the monster, and then pulled up his sleeve.

The blackening had spread to half of his arm.

Yao Tong was not present at the time, and there was no one there who knew medicine.

But the situation was critical, and Bai Yuanshi could only use his true energy to fight against the blackness.

The rate of spread has slowed, but it is still spreading.

"W-What should we do?"

The poisoned disciple's voice cracked with sobs. He was terrified and was inwardly lamenting why he hadn't gone out with them and instead chose to continue forward.

"Quickly! Amputate!"

Lu Zhaozhao shouted, and Bai Yuanshi glanced at the owner of the arm, who was too frightened to react.

Someone nearby drew their sword, and in the blink of an eye, an arm was severed.

The wound is smooth and easy to treat.

Lu Zhaozhao still had some medicine that Yaotong had given her, so she applied it to her wound and then bandaged it to stop the bleeding.

She finally breathed a sigh of relief after doing all that.

The other three people on the boat were also still in shock, sitting there blankly, their mouths agape but unable to utter a word.

The impact beneath the ship continued, giving them little time to compose themselves.

Lu Zhaozhao stood up, wanting to see what exactly was in the water.

As she stood up, the cloth she had placed beside her to wipe away the bloodstains fell to the side of the monster, which was suppressed by the curse.

The monster, for some unknown reason, suddenly began to struggle violently.

Lu Zhaozhao was stunned for a moment, then suddenly realized something, picked up the sword that Bai Yuanshi had just used to amputate her limb, and slashed her own hand.

A wound immediately appeared on his palm, and blood gushed out.

"you……"

Bai Yuanshi opened his mouth as if to speak, but was interrupted by a look from Lu Zhaozhao.

She clenched her fist, took her hand outside the boat, and slowly opened it with her palm facing down. Blood dripped down her hand and dissolved into the water.

Where the blood fell, large ripples immediately spread in the water, and began to bubble and churn outwards.

The next second, a bloody maw filled with sharp teeth burst out of the water. Around it, similar bloody maws kept emerging, and some even tried to get closer, gathering their strength to burst out of the water and bite Lu Zhaozhao's hand.

"careful!"

Bai Yuanshi grabbed her hand, ordering her to stop. Lu Zhaozhao looked at him and said softly, "It's nothing."

She opened her palm; the wound had already scabbed over and was healing at a visible speed.
