Chapter 51 Her Enlightenment

Yan Funing's watery eyes flashed with surprise, and then she pinched her fingers, unable to refute.

"I was careless."

Did he want her to admit in front of him that she was spoiled?

Fu Ciyi was silent for a moment and changed the subject: "It's just the last page. Please wait a moment."

He suddenly realized why she insisted on waiting for him even though she was obviously very sleepy.

In the past few days, she would undress after turning off the lights every night and go to bed in the dark.

Yan Funing nodded: "Okay, I'll wait for you to sleep together."

Fu Ciyi continued copying intently when he heard the words "sleep together" and couldn't help but exclaim, "Huh?"

Yan Funing was also startled, and smiled to ease the awkwardness: "That's not what I meant. Let me help you spread the quilt first."

After saying that, he fled to the bedside.

He promised to teach her how to read and write, and she helped make the quilt, no problem.

It was those words just now that made her slap her own lips.

After the slapping, I felt stupid again.

There was clearly nothing wrong with what she said. It was about being together in terms of time, not anything else.

Is there something wrong with his hearing?

--

Yan Funing got up early in the morning and cooked porridge.

He used clean chopsticks to pick up some of the pickled radish he had made earlier and put it in a bowl. He then added the leftover pork ribs and cabbage from last night and brought it all to the main room.

Because he got up early, Fu Nanyao had not yet gotten up.

The family of four enjoyed their meal very happily.

Wan Niang praised sincerely: "This pickled radish is refreshing and delicious, and it goes perfectly with porridge."

Yan Funing smiled and said, "Mother, my husband said he would go to the market with me today."

Wan Niang nodded: "You two should go together."

"I'm going too." Fu Beimo shouted.

Wan Niang said, "Tell your brother."

Fu Beimo looked at his brother and said, "Brother, I told my sister-in-law that I will protect her in the future."

Fu Ciyi was about to agree, but upon hearing this, he changed his tone and said, "You stay at home, in case the Hu family comes to cause trouble."

Fu Beimo thought about it and it made sense.

"The Hu family is too bad. I'll take care of the family." He turned his head to Yan Funing and said, "Sister-in-law, I will accompany you to the town next time and protect you."

Yan Funing smiled and nodded.

Although staying at home to protect his mother and sister was a heavy responsibility, Fu Beimo still felt a little lonely when he sent his brother and sister-in-law out of the hospital.

Yan Funing saw this and said with a smile, "Bei Mo, be good at home. Your sister-in-law will bring you some sugar-roasted chestnuts."

Fu Beimo's eyes instantly became bright: "Okay!"

Fu Ciyi and Yan Funing went to the village entrance.

There were not many passengers in coachman Li Niu's cart.

Seeing the couple approach, he smiled and said, "The cart that carried the vegetables yesterday has been cleaned today. Hurry up and get in. We'll be leaving soon."

Fu Ciyi took out ten copper coins from his pocket and gave them to him, but the coachman Li refused.

"No need. I took so many vegetables from your house that my pigs can eat them for a long time. I won't charge you for the transportation."

Fu Ciyi uttered two words: "Accept it."

He is clearly a handsome young man, but he has an aura and authority that makes people feel intimidated for no reason.

Li, the coachman, felt the urge to bow his head, so he involuntarily spread out his hands: "Then I'll take it."

The wind was still quite strong today. Yan Funing got on the car, put the empty backpack on the car board, and then put her two little hands into her sleeves and held up her little face.

Fu Ciyi slowly straightened his robe and sat down a foot away from her.

Seeing this, coachman Li was worried. The young lady was obviously afraid of the cold, and the husband of the Fu family didn't get any closer to her.

This young couple doesn't seem to be close.

--

When the car reached the town, Yan Funing said to Fu Ciyi, "I'm going to the restaurant first and will be out soon."

Fu Ciyi nodded: "Okay, I'll go to the bookstore."

"Then let's meet up at the cloth shop on the left in a quarter of an hour."

"Can."

Fu Ciyi sent Yan Funing to the door of the restaurant and continued walking towards the bookstore.

Yan Funing entered the restaurant.

Shopkeeper Liu saw her coming with an empty basket and asked in surprise, "Why is it empty today?"

Yan Funing smiled and said, "There are no mountain products today. I came to the town to buy some."

Shopkeeper Liu then smiled and raised his hand to invite her: "Young lady, please sit down and chat with me."

After saying that, he served her a plate of peanuts and melon seeds.

Yan Funing smiled and sat down. "I wanted to ask what kind of customers usually come to the restaurant, so that I can be more targeted when designing the medicinal food menu."

"You're really smart!" Manager Liu praised and began to talk about the guests who usually come to the restaurant for dinner.

On the other side, Fu Ciyi entered the bookstore.

When he got to the counter, he took out three copied books.

The shopkeeper flipped it open, looked at it, and nodded repeatedly, saying, "Good, very good!" He took out a tael of silver and a few coins from the counter, "Five hundred coins for one copy, three copies makes one and a half taels of silver."

Fu Ciyi did not accept it immediately, but said, "I want to buy two blank books."

The shop owner couldn't help but frown: "Why do you want to buy blank books? Did you copy out of a notebook?"

"No." Fu Ciyi said slowly, "My wife wants to learn to read. I plan to write some simple words in a notebook for her to learn."

The word "wife" is really tongue-twisting. Fortunately, the woman is not around at the moment.

Otherwise he would definitely not be able to say it.

Unlike her, she calls him husband in front of her mother, so slippery!

"Your wife is a great bargainer," the shopkeeper laughed. "Why isn't she here today?"

As long as the notebook is not copied to pieces, everything is fine.

"Yes, in the shop next door."

When he heard that she was coming, the shop owner thought to himself that if he didn't give her some discount, the girl would probably come over to bargain.
