The pheasant falling from the sky made the entire Ye family excited.
Old Madam Ye said calmly, "Keep your voices down, and start stewing quietly while everyone else is asleep.
"What you eat is yours. If others see you, it will be a disaster!"
Sister Ye took the opportunity to hold Qingtian in her arms and went to her mother-in-law to flatter her, saying, "Mom, look, this is Qingtian.
"What a coincidence! Just as we brought the child here, we caught a big pheasant."
Old Madam Ye looked up at the clear sky, then took her hand, touched it twice, and nodded, saying, "It's a poor child. As long as you two like it, I have no objection.
"But let me be frank with you, since you're staying here, you have to treat me like your own child.
"If you're not going to be good to the child in the future, then you should stop raising him.
"Otherwise, you're not raising a child, you're making enemies for yourself!"
Upon hearing this, Boss Ye quickly came over and said, "Mom, don't worry. From now on, Qingtian is my biological daughter."
As soon as he explained the matter of adopting Qingtian, the other three brothers worked together to move the stove to a place downwind away from the crowd.
The sisters-in-law worked together and quickly cleaned the pheasant, then called on Sister Ye to take charge of the cooking.
Mrs. Ye took Qingtian from her arms and said, "My dear child, I am your second aunt. I will hold you for your mother for a while. We finally have the stew, so you have to let your mother, the chef, cook it, otherwise it will be a waste."
The kids at home stopped running around and all gathered around the pot, holding their bowls and waiting.
It was the first time that Qingtian smelled such a fragrant smell. The meat stewed by Mrs. Shan had never been so fragrant before.
But she didn't dare show it and could only swallow her saliva secretly.
After the pheasant was stewed, Boss Ye came over with Old Lady Ye. The Ye family members immediately dispersed, and even a few naughty boys stood aside politely.
"You little ones, you have done a great job catching pheasants today. I will give each of you two pieces of chicken and a bowl of chicken soup.
"Okay, don't block us up here, go eat over there!"
Although Mrs. Ye's hair had turned white, she was steady and accurate in scooping meat from the pot, and she gave the five children the best portions with more meat and less bones.
The five little brats were almost intoxicated by the aroma. They each found a place to sit down and started eating with big mouthfuls.
Looking at his brothers eating voraciously, Qingtian couldn't help but look at them with envy.
Seeing this, Mrs. Ye asked, "Is Qingtian greedy?"
Qingtian was frightened and shook his head repeatedly: "Qingtian is not greedy, Qingtian doesn't want to eat, don't, don't hit me..."
"Good boy, don't be afraid. No one will beat you from now on. Grandma will give you some chicken soon."
Mrs. Ye's heart was almost broken by Qingtian, and she wanted to give her all the good things.
Guo took her bowl from Old Lady Ye, but her eyes were still fixed on the pot: "Mom, there's still such a big chicken drumstick left, give me some!"
"I've been riding in the car all day, and I haven't seen you walk a step. It's good enough that you have something to eat. Why do you want a chicken leg? I think you look like a chicken leg!" After scolding her, Mrs. Ye said, "Big Boss, go add some firewood and stew the chicken leg until it's tender and then give it to Qingtian."
"Why?" Guo was furious when she heard this. She ignored the fourth child who was trying to pull her aside and jumped up and down, yelling, "I gave her a bag of corn, why should I give her chicken legs?"
Old Madam Ye's face darkened and she threw down the chopsticks in her hand: "Just because those are the ones your eldest brother and sister-in-law saved from their own mouths, what does it have to do with you?"
Ye Lao Si quickly came out to smooth things over, saying, "Mom, she doesn't think what she says. Please don't bother with her."
He pulled Guo aside, put the two pieces of chicken in his bowl into hers and said, "I saved some for you. Eat it while it's hot!"
When Mrs. Guo saw the chicken, she didn't care about being angry. She ate it all in a few bites. Then she still didn't give up and stayed near the pot, refusing to move away.
Mrs. Ye first filled a small bowl of chicken soup, blowing on it while stirring it constantly with a spoon.
The fragrance wafting out of the bowl made Qingtian swallow his saliva continuously.
After tasting the chicken soup, which was no longer hot, Sister Ye quickly fed it to Qingtian: "Drink some soup to warm your stomach first, and then we'll eat some meat later."
A mouthful of warm soup was brought into the mouth.
Qingtian’s eyes widened instantly. How could there be such delicious food in the world?
How could you drink something so delicious by yourself?
This aunt seems to be really good to me...
She desperately swallowed the chicken soup that Sister Ye fed her.
While feeding the pigs, Mrs. Ye murmured with regret, "It's a pity that we are now fleeing from famine and don't have everything we need. We can only make do with this."
"When we have the chance in the future, I'll make you my best chicken stewed with mushrooms. It's so delicious you'll want to swallow your tongue."
Upon hearing this, Qingtian quickly raised his hand to cover his mouth and said vaguely: "Tongue, tongue can't be eaten, it's still useful!"
Mrs. Ye was instantly amused by her, bent down and kissed her on the cheek and said, "Child, why are you so popular?"
Qingtian was stunned by her kiss.
No one had ever kissed her since she could remember.
Normally, when Lady Shan was kissing her younger brother, she could only hide in the corner and secretly envy him.
She lowered her head and glanced at Mrs. Ye out of the corner of her eye.
Could it be that this aunt really likes me and wants to be my mother?
Mrs. Ye fed Qingtian half a bowl of chicken soup and then stopped. Seeing that she was still looking at her eagerly, she hurriedly explained, "Just drink a few sips, otherwise you won't be able to eat meat later."
She drank the remaining half bowl of chicken soup in one gulp, smacking her lips and saying, "The pheasant soup is really delicious. If there were potatoes, I'd throw them in and stew them. It would be really delicious."
