After borrowing the oxen from the Ye family, Lu Fei ran back home happily.
As soon as I walked in, I heard Huang ask, "Where have you been? Why did you run away halfway?"
"Mom, I've borrowed a plowing ox." Lu Fei said excitedly, "Second Uncle Ye said that you can go to his house and lead the ox yourself.
"They don't want money. All they want is that our oxen are not overworked when we plow the fields and that we feed and water them well."
Lu Fei was very happy and felt that he could share his mother's worries.
I didn't hear Huang speak for a long time, and when I looked up, I saw her embarrassed expression.
"Mom, what's wrong? I borrowed a plowing ox. Aren't you happy?"
Huang sighed, rubbed her son's head, and whispered, "Mom knows you feel sorry for me, but your uncle just had a little conflict with the Ye family yesterday, so let's not borrow the cow from them.
"Mom has already started tilling the soil in advance. Don't worry, I'll just work harder and won't delay the spring plowing."
Before Huang married him, Lu Fei had studied for a few years, and due to the changes in his family, he was actually more intelligent than other children of his age.
So even though Huang said it implicitly, he understood it immediately.
The so-called conflict must have been caused by Ye Lai Zi bullying someone. No wonder he was bitten by the dog!
I didn't expect that even after this happened, the Ye family was still willing to lend me the oxen.
Lu Fei was touched, but he also knew that he could not borrow the ox.
If Ye Laizi knew about this, he would definitely be furious and take his anger out on his family, and might even attack the Ye family's oxen.
So Lu Fei sighed and said, "Mom, I understand. I'll help you."
"You're not needed, mom can do it. Come and have dinner!" Huang said it easily, but in fact she had to swallow her tears.
The reason why she remarried with her two children was that she wanted to find a man who could work in the fields.
Who would have thought that everything was fine before I got married, but everything changed after I got married.
She usually has a bad temper and has tolerated excessive demands, but now she is even asked to do the work in the fields.
If I had known this would happen, why would I have taken this step and caused suffering to myself and my child?
Huang turned around and wiped the moist corners of her eyes. What's the point of thinking about these things now!
For the sake of her children, she had no choice but to endure it.
After lunch at Old Ye's house, everyone went back to their rooms to rest.
Ye Laoer kept turning over and over on the kang, sighing from time to time.
The three children were all sound asleep, but Second Sister Ye was the only one who couldn't sleep because of him. She finally kicked him and said, "If you don't want to sleep, get out. Don't stay here and disturb others' sleep."
Ye Lao Er turned over and moved closer to his wife, whispering, "What's the big deal about this? I've already promised that kid. What if he comes to our house to pick up the cow? What am I going to say?"
"Who told you to agree so carelessly?" Ye Ersao rolled her eyes at him, "Didn't mother tell you that if you agreed, you should solve it yourself!"
"How can I solve this problem?" Ye Lao Er was worried. "Can I even conjure up a cow?"
Mrs. Ye turned over and said to him with her back to him, "If you care so much about me, why don't you go and help me plow the fields?"
When Ye Laoer heard this, he felt that there was something wrong with the tone of his wife's words!
He quickly reached out to pull Ye Ersao's shoulder, wanting to see what her expression was.
"What's wrong, are you jealous?"
"Bah, who's jealous of you!"
"You said you weren't jealous, but I can smell the sourness."
"Go, go, go to the side!"
The couple was just getting cozy when Ye Changzhao suddenly turned over, rubbing his eyes and sleepily said, "Mom, what's wrong? Is it time to get up?"
Ye Changrui, who had been pretending to be asleep, pulled his brother back and said, "Not yet. Sleep a little longer. Big brother will call you later."
Mrs. Ye Er's face suddenly turned red. She slapped Ye Lao Er on the back, glared at him, and signaled him to stay away from her.
Ye Lao Er was too embarrassed to be affectionate with his wife in front of his son, so he whispered, "We must hurry up and build the house!"
Mrs. Ye's face, which had just cooled down a little, instantly turned red again. She reached out and pinched the flesh on his waist and twisted it.
"Ouch, it hurts, it hurts..." Ye Laoer quickly begged for mercy.
Ye Ersao loosened her grip and rubbed him twice more.
Ye Lao Er's voice suddenly changed: "Can you please stop provoking me?"
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Ye quickly put on her clothes and stood up, saying, "Weren't you complaining about being tired when you came back just now? I think you didn't work hard at all!"
Ye Lao Er lay sprawled on the kang, watching his wife get up and dress. He said, "There's not much hard work to do now. We'll be busy in a few days!"
After a short nap, Ye Laosan sent the children to school.
Ye Laoer thought about how to refuse countless times at home, but no matter how long he waited, neither Huang nor Lu Fei came.
He couldn't stay at home, so he simply ran to the fields again.
In the afternoon, the three sisters-in-law all gathered in Old Lady Ye's room.
Second Sister-in-law Ye was still busy making clothes, while Old Lady Ye, First Sister-in-law Ye and Third Sister-in-law Ye continued to pick small root vegetables.
The three of them worked for an entire afternoon and finally picked out and washed all the small root vegetables they had dug up this time. Mrs. Ye took out a clean jar, scalded it with boiling water and dried it, then put the small root vegetables mixed with various ingredients into it.
Place a clean bowl upside down on the jar, then pour water around it and set it aside for now.
Sister Ye twisted her aching waist and said, "This thing is delicious, but it's too hard to clean up.
