Chapter 393 What the hell is that bloody thing?

On the way back, Zhao asked, "Why did you two buy such a big piece of meat? It's not worth it to get angry with Mrs. Liu. The weather is warm now, and the meat won't keep well."

"Who has the time to be angry with her?" Ye Juaner said with a smile, "My niece's wife pickled some small root vegetables for me before, and I found them quite delicious.

"Yesterday I asked them to go up the mountain again and dig up a lot of small root vegetables, dandelions and shepherd's purse.

"Last night, his family made dumplings stuffed with dandelions and sent us a plate..."

"What is dandelion?" Zhao didn't understand. "Is it some fresh wild vegetable I've never tasted?"

"It's nothing new, it's just a dandelion!

"They used to call me Po Ding outside the Great Wall, and I was brought there by her."

"Dandelion?" Zhao asked with an expression of bewilderment. "How can you make dumplings with that bitter thing?"

Although people in the village often dig dandelions, they basically dry them and make tea with them or sell them at pharmacies.

Some people like to eat it with sauce, but Zhao can't stand the bitter taste and never eats it.

So when I heard about using dandelions to make dumplings, my whole face wrinkled.

"Sister-in-law, you're right, I had the same reaction as you before.

"Until I tasted it last night, my god, it was the first time in my life that I had eaten dumplings that were so delicious."

Zhao Shi showed a look of disbelief and shook her head, saying, "You are becoming more and more exaggerated in your words."

"Sister-in-law, I'm not lying to you. My husband, Lao Liu, couldn't help but savor the food last night while lying on the kang. He said he didn't have enough!

"Look, I came here early in the morning to buy some meat. I'm going to make some extra dumplings today and send some to his family.

“I’ll serve a bowl to you and Brother Dongkui when the time comes, and you’ll know then.

"Although I can't cook as well as the eldest brother's wife, I can't always wait to eat their food, right?"

"That's right, the eldest brother's wife also sent my family some small root vegetables, and your brother Dongkui also loves to eat them, and even asked me to ask how to make them!

"But my eyesight is so bad now that I can't see clearly. I don't feel like picking up the vegetables at all, so I haven't asked yet!"

"My family is also preparing to pickle a jar. I'll give you some when it's done."

The two people exchanged a few words and soon went their separate ways and went home.

Mrs. Ye also got up very early today, but she didn't get up to buy meat, but to pick vegetables.

She soaked the shepherd's purse she dug yesterday in a large wooden basin before going to bed last night. When she woke up this morning, every piece was green and tender.

Mrs. Ye prepared a pot of shepherd's purse by herself, and then the people in the family got up one after another.

"Sister-in-law, have you finished picking them?" As soon as Sister-in-law Ye San came out, she saw Sister-in-law Ye holding a basin of shepherd's purse. "Leave it there, I'll wash it."

"Don't worry, you take care of the child first. I've washed everything." Mrs. Ye said as she carried the basin into the kitchen.

She had deliberately saved some of the meat she had chopped last night, and now she chopped up some shepherd's purse and mixed it in. After a little seasoning, it became a ready-made wonton filling.

Mrs. Ye had prepared the filling and was about to start kneading the dough when Mrs. Ye's second and third sisters-in-law came in, having finished their preparations.

The three of them worked much faster together and soon they had wrapped several wontons with lids.

"I'll cook the wontons, sister-in-law, you make the soup." Sister-in-law Ye San took over the job of cooking the wontons.

Mrs. Ye placed two rows of two bowls on the table.

Mrs. Ye put seasoning and chopped green onions in each bowl, and finally added a little sesame oil.

After the wontons in the pot were cooked, Mrs. Ye used the largest soup spoon in the house to scoop the soup and wontons into a bowl.

The seasoning, chopped green onions and sesame oil in the bowl are stimulated by the hot soup, and the aroma immediately rises.

Mrs. Ye Er and Mrs. Ye Da began to carry the food into the house.

The children had just finished washing up and followed the smell into the house.

Mrs. Ye put the wontons on the table for them first, and then said, "Eat slowly, don't burn yourself, I'll go fry the dumplings now."

Upon hearing this, Old Lady Ye said, "My dear wife, we already have wontons, why are we still frying dumplings?"

"Didn't I promise them yesterday? I forgot about it, but I just remembered it when I saw the kids."

Mrs. Ye immediately said, "We'll have wontons in the morning and fried dumplings in the evening.

"How can you eat wontons with fried dumplings? They're all meat-filled, too. Life has been a bit extravagant lately!"

Several children said they wanted to eat fried dumplings last night. Actually, it was because the dumplings filled with motherwort were so fragrant and they felt they hadn’t eaten enough.

But now that there are hot wontons with soup in front of me, my obsession with fried dumplings is naturally not so strong anymore.

After hearing what Old Lady Ye said, everyone nodded and said they would eat fried dumplings in the evening.

"That's fine too. If you don't have enough wontons, tell me. There are more in the pot."

Since it was a meal for their family, the sisters-in-law were not stingy at all and made wontons with thin skin and big fillings.

Compared with dandelions, shepherd's purse filling has a different flavor.

Especially now that spring has just begun and the mornings are still not that warm, a bowl of this soup with wontons will warm you up from the inside out.

The children's faces were flushed from eating. After they finished eating, they put on their schoolbags and prepared to be taken to the private school by Ye Lao San.

Although Ye Laizi has not done anything in the past few days, the Ye family is still a little worried.

Anyway, the private school was in the village and it wasn't far to go, so Ye Lao Er and Ye Lao San were responsible for picking up and dropping off the children respectively.

But as soon as we went out today, the children suddenly started screaming.
