Seeing that the vegetables brought back by Boss Ye were very fresh, and since it was not yet time for dinner, Mrs. Ye simply went to the kitchen to give some instructions, and the family of three drove directly back to the Cen Mansion.
In the evening, Mr. Cen was walking in the yard with his hands behind his back. Behind him were the silly roe deer that had no idea that its life was almost in danger, a chicken that was digging the ground with its claws from time to time, and a dog that was strolling around.
There was already a chicken named Red Dot at home, so Meng Yu called this silly roe deer White Butt.
Mr. Cen thought it was unpleasant and never called him that.
But Silly Roe Deer himself seemed to approve of the name. Every time he heard Meng Yu call him that, he would jump over happily.
"Great-grandfather, I'm back!" Qingtian shouted at the top of his voice as soon as he entered the door.
Mrs. Ye suddenly felt a headache, knowing that her daughter would definitely tell the old man again what happened when she returned to the village today.
"I came back early today, so I'm going to the kitchen to cook." Sister Ye quickly found an excuse to leave, and called Boss Ye along, saying, "Help me carry the vegetables to the kitchen."
When Mr. Cen heard about the vegetables, he immediately became interested and came over to ask, "What vegetables did you buy today?"
When he walked in and saw a basket full of vegetables, Mr. Cen was stunned: "Why did you buy so much?"
"Grandpa, these vegetables are not bought. They are grown by my family. I picked some and brought them back. They are very tender and must be better than those sold outside."
"Did you grow these?" Elder Cen walked in and saw the size of the vegetables in the basket, and asked in surprise, "Do you have a greenhouse at home, too?"
“No, I just started raising seedlings earlier than others, and then transplanted them into the fields when the weather got warmer.
"Other people's families have just planted their seeds, but my seedlings have already grown quite big."
"This is a good idea." Old Cen nodded and came forward with great interest.
"This was a method Qingtian's mother came up with some time ago. We even went up the mountain to dig soil in order to grow seedlings.
“But later she opened a shop in the city and didn’t have time to deal with these things.
“My mother and my two younger siblings did it, and they are all growing up well now.
Elder Cen carefully looked through the vegetables in the basket and said, "They are just too small. It's a bit of a waste to pull them out when they are so tender."
"It's okay, these are actually from thinning out the seedlings, otherwise I wouldn't be willing to pull them out!
"We've put so much effort into growing these vegetables, raising them and transplanting them. We're planning to sell them later!"
Boss Ye's words made Boss Cen's eyes light up, and he asked hurriedly, "What vegetables do you grow at home? How many do you grow?"
“There are spinach, bok choy, garland chrysanthemum, leeks, celery and so on.
“You’ve been to my house before, so you know how big the backyard is, right?
"Now the whole backyard is planted with vegetables."
"That should be enough." Mr. Cen calculated the time in his mind and felt that it should be about right.
"What is enough?" Boss Ye asked puzzledly.
"The cooking competition is about to begin," said Elder Cen. "Mother Qingtian can directly participate in the subsequent competitions, but the others will still have to go through a few more rounds of screening.
“When it comes to cooking in a cooking competition, ingredients are definitely essential.
"I've been wondering where to buy these vegetables these past few days!
"Isn't this just in time?"
Elder Cen picked up a spinach plant from the basket and gestured, "By the time of the cooking competition, it should be able to grow back to this height. It's the perfect size."
Mr. Cen couldn't hold back any longer and said directly, "Tomorrow you will accompany me to visit your home.
"If possible, you don't have to sell the vegetables you grow at home. I'll buy them all for you."
"That would be great if that's the case." Boss Ye was immediately overjoyed.
When he returned home this time, Ye Laoer asked him where he would sell the vegetables when they grew up.
Boss Ye also said at the time that it would be best to send it to the capital to sell it, where it could be sold at a good price.
Ye Laoer was still worried that he was not good at speaking and would not be able to shout out his goods without losing face.
If Mr. Cen could buy the whole thing, or even just half of it, it would save the family a lot of trouble.
As for the price, Boss Ye didn't even ask.
It's obvious that Mr. Cen would never let the Ye family suffer any loss.
So early the next morning, after having breakfast at home, Boss Ye first sent Qingtian and Dasao Ye to Qin's house and the shop respectively.
He planned to send his wife and daughter to their respective destinations, then return to the Cen Mansion to pick up Old Man Cen, and then go directly out of the city and back to the village.
After getting off the carriage on a sunny day, as usual, I carried my small schoolbag, walked through the alley, and entered the door to where I had my daily classes.
As usual, Qin Hexuan was already waiting for her in the study, writing something with full concentration.
"Brother Qin!" Qingtian walked into the room and greeted Qin Hexuan, then took off his schoolbag and put away the homework that Mr. Wei had left for him the day before.
"Mr. Wei will not come today." After Qin Hexuan finished writing a page, he stopped writing and said to Qingtian.
"Why?" Qingtian asked curiously.
When studying at the Qin Mansion, one day off is allowed every ten days, and Mr. Wei has never missed a day before.
"An old friend of Mr. Wei passed away. The news arrived last night, so he went to pay his respects early this morning."
"So what are we going to do today?" Qingtian asked Qin Hexuan while lying on the table.
"Mr. Wei gave me some homework." Qin Hexuan said, "As for you, can't I teach you?
"You are under my control today."
"Okay, then this is the homework I wrote earlier."
When Qingtian heard this, he immediately picked up his homework and handed it to Qin Hexuan, then leaned over to see what he was writing.
