Because of Qingtian's health, Mrs. Ye didn't go to the store for two consecutive days.
After being lively and energetic on a sunny day, she slept soundly for a whole day before she recovered.
So the dumpling shop closed its doors for three consecutive days.
On the fourth day, Mrs. Ye went to the store early in the morning.
Kitchen helpers Cao Yuelian and Luo Dongxiang now live in the wing room behind the shop.
Although the shop has been closed for the past few days, both of them got up quite early.
The two of them were talking while washing in the yard.
Luo Dongxiang said worriedly, "It's been four days, and there's still no news. Do you think we should go to the Cen Mansion and find out? Could it be true, as people say on the street, that this shop can't continue to operate?"
Cao Yuelian said confidently: "What are you thinking about? You forgot that the man behind this shop is Mr. Cen, and you saw how good the business was before.
"During the past few days of closure, people have been coming every day to ask when we will reopen!
"Besides, your boss hasn't shortchanged you, so you have nothing to worry about."
"I thought that Miss You was easy to get along with, so I hoped to be able to do this job for a longer time and didn't want to change places!"
The two were talking when they suddenly heard someone knocking on the door from behind.
"Who is it?" Cao Yuelian asked.
"Open the door, I'm here." Mrs. Ye's voice came from outside the door.
"Oh, Madam You is finally here!" As soon as Luo Dongxiang heard Mrs. Ye's voice, she immediately threw the towels and other things in her hand into the basin and ran over to open the door.
"Madam You, are we open today?"
"Open the door!" said Mrs. Ye. "The child was sick a few days ago, and I was taking care of him day and night. I was really too busy to handle it."
Cao Yuelian asked with concern: "Is Qingtian okay?"
"It's okay now. Everyone has gone back to study." Mrs. Ye said as she rolled up her sleeves and prepared to start working.
Cao Yuelian immediately came up to help.
Luo Dongxiang said, "I'll go call Yan Fei and Aunt Luo over first. More people will make the work go faster."
Yan Fei was a waiter hired by the store before, and Aunt Luo was an old lady who was responsible for cleaning and tidying up the kitchen.
The requirements for these two people were not as high as those for the kitchen helpers, so we hired people who were nearby and lived not far away.
Not long after, Luo Dongxiang came back with Aunt Yuan and said that Yan Fei would be here soon.
Aunt Yuan was also very happy to see Mrs. Ye come back. She was old, and although cleaning the house and doing some chores were no problem for her, it was difficult for her to find a long-term and stable job.
This time I finally found a job that is close to home and suitable for me.
It's only been a few days, and she doesn't want it to fail.
So as soon as Aunt Yuan entered the yard, she rolled up her sleeves and started helping to pick and wash vegetables without saying a word.
Mrs. Ye said, "Auntie Yuan, the shop hasn't been open for several days. Why don't you go and clean it up first?"
"No, no!" Aunt Yuan waved her hands repeatedly.
Cao Yuelian rushed to explain for her, "Mrs. You, you may not know that during the past few days when the store was closed, Aunt Yuan came over every evening to clean up, so the store has always been very clean!"
"Really? That's great." Madam You was surprised that Aunt Yuan was so serious and responsible. "Thank you so much, Aunt Yuan!"
"What's there to thank me for? Isn't this what I should do?"
While a few people were talking, Yan Fei finally arrived.
As soon as he entered the courtyard, he apologized repeatedly: "I'm sorry, Madam You, I didn't know that we were going to open today, so I got up late this morning.
"Just now when Sister Cao came to call me, I was changing the dressing on my father's injured leg.
"You can't stop halfway through changing, so you can only come back after you finish changing."
"It's okay, don't worry, there's nothing for you to do right now!" Mrs. Ye said, then asked, "How is your father's injury?"
"Thank you for your concern, Madam You. I've had the doctor check it out, and it's getting much better after applying the medicine.
"It's just that it will take a hundred days to heal the broken bones, and then you'll need to recuperate for a while.
"I'm afraid it will take several months before I can go out to work again."
Yan Fei is only fourteen years old this year and lives in the alley behind.
The reason why he was recruited as a clerk was because he had a handsome appearance and people liked him at first sight.
Secondly, his family's situation is really sympathetic.
Six years ago, Yan Fei's mother died of complications during childbirth when giving birth to his sister Yan Yue.
Unfortunately, Yan Yue was born blind.
Because her father Yan Yongbo had to go out to earn money to support the family, the arduous task of taking care of Yan Yue fell on Yan Fei, who was only eight years old at the time.
After much difficulty, Yan Yue finally turned six years old and could basically take care of herself.
I thought life at home would get better and better, but Yan Yongbo broke his leg while working outside.
Yan Yongbo was recuperating at home, and his family suddenly lost their source of income.
Yan Fei had no choice but to let his father and sister take care of each other at home while he went out to find a job.
When he first started looking for a job, he encountered obstacles everywhere. People either thought he was too young or that he didn't know anything.
Yan Fei had no choice but to follow others to carry the goods.
But he was still young and not strong enough, so he couldn't carry many in a day.
After working for two and a half days, Yan Fei was fired by his boss without being paid a penny.
Just as Yan Fei was on his way home in a daze, he heard someone say that a dumpling restaurant was hiring waiters.
He came to try with the last glimmer of hope.
When Yan Fei came in and saw Mrs. Ye, he burst into tears without saying a word.
Mrs. Ye asked gently, and he suddenly couldn't hold it in anymore and broke down crying.
