Chunhua, however, cast an envious look at Qingtian who was sitting in Mrs. Ye's arms.
She had never enjoyed such treatment at home.
Chunhua quickly finished eating a piece of fish. She licked her lips with reluctance and felt that she should leave.
Unexpectedly, Mrs. Ye picked up another piece of fish for her, not only carefully helped her remove the fish bones, but also handed her a piece of cornmeal cake that smelled sweet.
"If you like it, eat more. There is so much in the pot, it won't matter if you have a few bites." Mrs. Ye said.
Chunhua was holding the bowl and hesitating when she suddenly heard someone shouting in the distance: "Chunhua? Chunhua? Where did this child go again?"
When Mrs. Ye heard this familiar voice, her expression changed slightly.
Chunhua was startled and quickly stood up, about to put the bowl down, but it was too late.
I saw Jiang rushing over quickly.
Mrs. Ye never expected that Chunhua was actually the child of Widow Liu.
Why haven’t I seen it in her yard before?
When Jiang discovered that Chunhua was actually at the Ye family's side, she immediately rushed over, grabbed her arm and pulled her to her side.
Then, with a look of disdain on her face, she yelled at Mrs. Ye, "What do you want to do? If you have any problems, just come at us with real weapons. What's the point of attacking a child?"
Mrs. Ye said angrily, "Who attacked the child? I didn't even know Chunhua was your child."
"Who would believe that!" Jiang spat and cursed, "Would you be so kind as to invite a child you don't know to dinner?"
Mrs. Ye was so angry that her hands were shaking as she held the bowl.
Mrs. Ye San helped her fight back, saying, “Some people are evil themselves, so they see everyone else as evil.
"Look carefully, we're all eating fish cooked in the same pot, how can it harm anyone?"
Jiang Shi couldn't win the argument with her, so she just played dirty and said, "I'm not afraid to tell you that my family has connections in the capital.
"I advise you to give up the thought of getting your house and land back! And stop doing these little tricks behind your back!"
"If anything happens to my Chunhua, you'll be sent to jail!"
After Jiang said this, she pulled Chunhua hard and walked home, cursing at her as she walked.
"You little bastard, how many lifetimes have you never eaten fish?
“You just eat when someone tells you to?
"Since you are so greedy, why don't you just reincarnate as a pig?"
What he said after that became even more unbearable to hear.
When Qingtian heard Jiang scolding, some bad memories were brought back to her. She stopped eating the fish and turned to snuggle into Mrs. Ye's arms.
Mrs. Ye's face didn't look very good either. She put her arms around Qingtian and gently stroked her back.
