Ye Rongan shook off his brother's hand, ran directly into the east room, took off his shoes, climbed onto the kang, lay down on the quilt and prepared to go to sleep immediately.
"Are you full?" Ye Rongxu asked.
Mrs. Ye cooked different amounts of noodles for the two of them. Ye Rongan's was originally less than his, and it was obvious that it was adjusted according to their ages.
Now Ye Rongan hadn't even finished half a bowl of noodles, so he would definitely get hungry quickly.
But Ye Rongan was not thinking about whether he was hungry or whether he wanted to eat noodles at this moment.
He laboriously pulled out the quilt, spread it messily on the kang, and lay down inside. He closed his eyes and said, "Brother, don't talk to me. I'm going to sleep. I'll be able to see mother when I wake up."
Ye Rongxu really wanted to say that Dad was just lying to him.
But after his mind flashed with the image of his brother crying pitifully, he finally compromised, went up to the kang to cover his brother with the quilt, sighed solemnly, and turned to leave.
Mrs. Ye quickly brought out a large bowl of cooked noodles, placed it on the table, and said, "Brother Qinggang, no matter what, you have to eat first, don't you think?"
"Sister-in-law, thank you so much for your help today." Ye Qinggang refused to sit down and kept thanking Sister-in-law Ye.
"It's no big deal, we're neighbors, it's just a matter of helping each other!
"I've fed your parents in the west room. When your father wanted to go to the bathroom during the day, I asked my second and third children to come over and help him. He also turned over a few times.
"Your mother doesn't need to worry about anything. She's eating well. When you're done, go in and take a look yourself.
"If it's nothing, I'll be leaving first. If you need any help, just let me know."
Although the two families lived next to each other, Ye Qinggang still sent Mrs. Ye out of his own yard and only felt relieved after watching her return home.
After he sent Mrs. Ye back, before he could sit down and eat his noodles peacefully, he heard his mother calling him from inside the house, and his father's voice, which he couldn't even make out what he was saying.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Ye Qinggang took a deep breath and then walked into the west room.
"Is your wife back?" Qing Gang's mother said while looking behind him.
"No! She refuses to come back." Ye Qinggang knew he couldn't escape anyway, so he just threw in the towel and said, "She can come back or not. If she doesn't come back, life at home will be miserable, right?"
"You..." Qinggang's mother was so angry that she couldn't speak.
Ye Qinggang quickly brought the old lady a glass of water.
"Mom, she found a job outside, serving the old lady of a wealthy family, and the monthly salary is not low!
"But the old lady must be very old, and I don't know how many days she has left to live. When she's no longer needed, she'll naturally come back."
"Then you just told Rong An that he would be able to see his mother when he woke up tomorrow morning?"
"I was just annoyed by his crying and said that to comfort him!" Ye Qinggang said helplessly.
"Then you wait until tomorrow morning, I'll see how you coax him!" Qinggang's mother was so angry that she didn't want to talk to her son anymore. She turned her head and lay down, leaving Ye Qinggang with only the back of her head.
Ye Qinggang finally had some peace and quiet to eat, but when he sat down he had no appetite.
The noodles in the bowl, which originally looked so appetizing, were now swollen due to soaking and looked a little difficult to swallow.
In order not to waste food, Ye Qinggang picked up the chopsticks and forced himself to eat it bite by bite.
But before he had taken a few bites, he couldn't help but stood up, covering his mouth, ran out the door and vomited into the泔水袋.
"Dagang, what's wrong with you?" Qinggang's mother quickly stood up when she heard the voice, but she couldn't get down, so she could only ask loudly in the house.
"Rong Xu, go out and see what happened to your father?"
Ye Qinggang vomited out all the noodles he had just eaten, and vomited a few mouthfuls of sour water before he finally stopped.
He didn't even bother to rinse his mouth, and shouted into the house, "Mom, it's okay. I just caught a gust of wind on the way back. I ate the noodles too fast just now, so I feel a little nauseous."
"My dear child, I have been telling you since you were little that you should not rush when eating. You should chew your food slowly and thoroughly, otherwise you will definitely feel uncomfortable..."
Ye Rongxu also walked out of the house silently and handed the cup of water in his hand to Ye Qinggang.
Ye Qinggang quickly rinsed his mouth and drank a few sips of water before he managed to calm the churning in his stomach.
He reached out and rubbed Ye Rongxu's little head and said, "Thank you, son. It's great that you can take care of your father."
Ye Rongxu asked solemnly, "Dad, is Mom not coming back, just like Aunt Liu before?"
Ye Qinggang was stunned by his son's question.
Mrs. Liu divorced Mr. Liu years ago and was taken away by her family with her daughter.
So strictly speaking, it is no longer appropriate to call her Mrs. Liu or Aunt Liu, but Mrs. Lin.
Divorce is not a common thing, and Mrs. Lin was very troubled by it.
Firstly, the Liu family was persistent in pursuing the matter, and secondly, the government office was also trying its best to mediate.
But she had the support of her parents and brothers from her natal family, and finally she succeeded in getting a divorce and took her biological daughter with her.
Ye Qinggang had never thought about whether his wife would divorce him before. In his opinion, the word divorce should not exist at all.
But thinking of Mrs. Lu's attitude during the day, Ye Qinggang suddenly became a little uncertain.
"No!" Ye Qinggang suddenly raised his voice, not knowing whether he was speaking to his son or to himself.
"The reason why Sister Liu was able to get a divorce was because her family was strong.
"But there's no one left at your grandma's house now. If your mother divorces, won't she be left alone?
