Chapter 2 A Joyful and Harmonious Moment

"Alright, stop making noise."

Pan Jinhua had a headache from the noise in the room. Li Xuming squatted in front of the bed and asked, "Mother, are you alright? You scared us brothers today."

"I'm getting old, and my body isn't what it used to be. Don't let your sisters know," Pan Jinhua replied, mimicking the original owner's tone.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief; at least the old lady was really alright.

"Mother, you're too late. My sisters are probably on their way. I'll have someone send them back, and we'll invite them over tomorrow." Liu Yun finally smiled. Her two sisters-in-law were very close to her mother-in-law, so how could she keep such an important matter from them?

"That's how it should be." Pan Jinhua's mind conjured up the faces of the two women, and a smile involuntarily appeared on her face.

"Grandma, thank goodness you're alright. Everyone was terrified."

A beautiful young woman dressed in a light blue dress approached. She was Li Qingruo, the eldest daughter of Li Xushi, the second son of the Li family, and the older sister of Li Qingduan and Li Qingyi, the two culprits in this incident.

Her face was still pale, she was also frightened, her grandmother was not safe and her two younger brothers were covered in bruises from being beaten.

Pan Jinhua touched Li Qingruo's face; in the original owner's memories, the deceased granddaughter was this child.

"Poor things, you must have been terrified. Eldest sister, remember to make some calming soup for the children. You were all frightened, so drink some to calm your nerves and be careful not to get a fever at night."

"I've already arranged for the kitchen to make soup. Mother has just woken up, so please don't trouble yourself," Liu Yun replied as he stepped forward.

Li Xuming was reminded by Liu Yun, "Madam is right, Mother should rest well. There are many of us, we will come to pay our respects again tomorrow. Let's all leave today."

Pan Jinhua was indeed quite tired. Seeing everyone leave, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

He slept soundly until the next day when it was broad daylight, and the Li family members were already waiting in the hall of Tianhua Garden.

Pan Jinhua was slightly embarrassed. She hadn't expected her to sleep so soundly. She had originally planned to rest and think about how to break the deadlock, but to her surprise, she fell asleep like a log as soon as she closed her eyes, let alone think of a topic. Now she could only pretend to be calm and let Lian'er help her get dressed and wash up.

Why would an elderly woman be embarrassed, especially since she was injured?

"Madam, are you feeling alright today?" Lian'er asked as she served the old lady, observing her closely to prevent any lingering effects.

"I feel okay, but my knees aren't very comfortable."

"You bumped your head yesterday. I'll apply some medicine for you, and you'll be fine in a couple of days."

"good."

"Yesterday, the old lady fell into a coma. Young Master Qingduan and Young Master Qingyi knelt at the door for a long time, soaking wet. The Second Master even used family discipline on them. They both have fevers today."

Pan Jinhua frowned. The original owner's memories didn't include the incident of falling into the lotus pond; she guessed it was due to changes caused by her rebirth. Thinking of her two grandsons being beaten, she sighed, "They're just unlucky."

"Have you gone to see it?"

"I've already seen him, he took his medicine and is asleep."

After saying this, Pan Jinhua finished tidying up and walked into the hall of Tianhua Garden.

Upon entering the hall, Li Xuming led the way, and everyone bowed in greeting. Pan Jinhua immediately called for them to rise. Liu Yun arranged for breakfast to be served, consisting of porridge and snacks.

"Let's all eat something together." Everyone agreed and silently ate their breakfast.

After the meal, Pan Jinhua finally spoke.

“Let yesterday’s matter go, I’m fine, don’t punish them both again.” Pan Jinhua stared at Li Xushi.

Li Xushi nodded in agreement. "Mother is kind-hearted. Those two are truly too unruly and deserve some discipline. They should have come to apologize, but they both had fevers last night..."

"You're such a heartless father, how could you beat him so badly? He needs to be taken care of. He's not a child anymore. If he really doesn't like studying, he should learn martial arts. He should rest and recover from his injuries for the next couple of days. Yesterday was an unexpected disaster. I've prepared gifts for them, please take them to them for me later."

There's only one month left before their home is raided and they're exiled. They might not become masters in a month, but at least they'll get some exercise, making the journey less unbearable. The gifts are compensation for the beating they received yesterday.

"Alright, I'll listen to Mother. I'll go find Master Wu today."

"No rush. You can find a martial arts instructor from a security escort agency to build a foundation first. Good martial arts instructors are hard to find, so starting to train will also help you improve your health."

Li Xuchang's eyebrows twitched. "What Mother said makes a lot of sense. Qingtong and Qingjun are at the perfect age to be tempered."

“Your own father doesn’t seem to care at all. I was going to say that I was afraid you wouldn’t be able to bear it,” Pan Jinhua said, glancing at him.

"Mother, please don't laugh at me. Boys need to be strong and healthy. The hardship and fatigue will benefit them."

“If that’s what you’re saying, Third Brother, why don’t all the children in the family learn it?” Li Xuming decided.

Pan Jinhua hadn't expected things to go so smoothly. She had originally planned to have Li Qingduan and Li Qingyi learn first, and then she would think of a way to get the other younger members of the Li family to learn as well. But now, with just a few words from them, it saved her a lot of trouble.

The three Li brothers, Xu, and Ming, were busy with many things, so after a few words, they bowed and went off to attend to their duties. Liu Yun also had to manage the affairs of the mansion. Yesterday, the maids in the mansion gossiped and made a fool of themselves in front of outsiders, which embarrassed her. Today, she was determined to give these maids a good talking-to so that they wouldn't dare to talk about their master's affairs everywhere.

Mo Qiaoniang had to take care of her two injured sons, and Qi Wan, being pregnant, couldn't sit for long, so they were both sent back by Pan Jinhua.

Only a few younger generations remained. Li Qingzhang was the eldest son and grandson, now seventeen years old. He was no longer the numb and lifeless child she remembered. The Li Qingzhang standing before her now was like a green bamboo, full of youthful vigor, growing vigorously in the wind.

Looking at the child and thinking about what happened to him, Pan Jinhua felt a pang of sadness. She was an old woman, easily moved to tears.
