The day was exhausting. When she finally returned to her courtyard, Li Yunyan felt so tired that she could barely stand.
Just as she jumped over the wall through the back door, a long sword appeared at her neck.
"It's me!"
Li Yunyan spoke up immediately, afraid that if she had been a second later, Xia Xiunian would have killed her.
Hearing the familiar voice and seeing the unfamiliar face in front of him, Xia Xiunian was a little slow to process what was happening.

When I returned to the courtyard, the water was already boiled.
Xia Xiunian placed the food on the table in the room, then went to the kitchen to fetch hot water and carried it behind the screen.
Li Yunyan was a light sleeper, and the aroma of the food immediately made her stomach protest.

"Let's take a shower first!" Li Yunyan walked to the wardrobe, found a change of clothes, and said, "I'll eat after I shower!"

Xia Xiunian's ears turned red. He went to the kitchen and brought in a bucket of hot water, instructing, "Yanyan, if the water temperature isn't right, adjust it yourself! I... I'll go to the yard first!"

"Have you eaten? Would you like to come in and join me?"
"I've already eaten!"

Li Yunyan was genuinely hungry. Ignoring him with the door open, she sat down and started eating. After eating at her place for a while, Xia Xiunian knew her tastes inside and out, ordering only dishes she liked!
She finished her meal with great relish, feeling completely comfortable!
Well, apart from my feet and calves still feeling a bit sore.
After tidying up behind the screen, when she came out again, Xia Xiunian still hadn't come in.
