Chapter 254 From Princess to Empress (9)

Li Yunyan ran back to the carriage.

Just thinking about how stunned Fu Luoyouqi looked earlier makes me want to laugh.

Seeing the princess's good mood, Yu Die smiled and said, "Princess, I just saw that the prince consort's face turned red!"

Yu Zhu nodded, "This servant saw it too! The prince consort couldn't help but be infatuated with the princess; it seems he really likes her!"

Li Yunyan covered her mouth and chuckled a few times, her eyes full of mischievous amusement.

It wasn't that Fu Luo couldn't control herself; she threw herself at him!

These innocent little wolves and puppies are always the easiest to handle!

The journey was smooth and uneventful.

That night, Li Yunyan did not find any trace of Fu Luoyouqi around her tent.

Although his tent was still set up next to his own, he had disappeared to some secluded corner, hiding away from the barbecue!

Li Yunyan wasn't in a hurry. He was deliberately avoiding her, which meant he was already aware of her intentions.

He treated her as a woman to be avoided, not as a dispensable princess sent for a political marriage.

He avoided her, and Li Yunyan didn't approach him again, maintaining her dignity and pride as a princess.

A few days later, the proud princess decided she didn't want to leave.

Yu Zhu left the princess's tent and hurriedly went to Fu Luo Youqi's side.

"My lord, our princess is unwell and will not be departing today!"

Fu Luo Youqi was brushing his horse's back when he heard this. His lazy brows furrowed, and he asked in a deep voice, "What's wrong, Princess?"

Yu Zhu stammered, "It's nothing, I'm just not feeling well, I'll be fine after a few days of rest!"

"How can you be so willful!"

When Fu Luo saw that Yu Zhu hadn't given a reason, he assumed that Li Yunyan was just throwing a tantrum like a princess, and immediately put down the horse brush.

As he washed his hands, he asked, "Have you seen a doctor?"

The princess was accompanied by a royal physician who was on call around the clock.

Yu Zhu followed the princess's instructions and stammered, "Your Highness just needs to rest; there's no need to see the imperial physician!"

Now Fu Luoyouqi is even more certain that Li Yunyan is not sick; she must be suffering from a princess syndrome!

Thinking of that proud and noble face, Fu Luoyouqi felt a mix of anger and worry.

The princess was frail, the journey was arduous, and she had never traveled far before, so it was possible that she would fall ill!

If she is truly ill, but refuses to seek medical help...

Now is not the time to be temperamental!

He flicked the water droplets off his hands. "Take me to see the princess!"

"yes."

Their camps were not far apart. After Yuzhu went in to report, she came out with Yudie.

The two bowed to Fu Luoyouqi, saying, "Your Highness, the princess invites you in."

Fu Luo Youqi seemed to have gotten used to how they addressed her, nodded slightly, and strode inside.

The tent was filled with the fragrance of incense, and its decor was fresh and elegant, yet refined and dignified, just like her temperament.

A slender figure lay in the misty pink gauze curtains, indistinct and vague.

In this atmosphere, Fu Luoyouqi's voice unconsciously softened.

"Princess Luo Qing."

A slender hand emerged from behind the gauze curtain and gently waved, "Aqi, you've come!"

Her voice was weak and feeble, and she really sounded like she was sick.

"Is the princess feeling unwell? Should I call a doctor to come and take a look?"

"No."

Her voice was soft and gentle, with a hint of suppressed emotion, "I'll feel better after lying down for a bit!"

Fu Luo took a step closer, trying to see her face through the gauze.

“Since the princess is unwell, she should be treated promptly. Otherwise, it will not only slow down the journey but also affect her health.”

Li Yunyan's voice sounded somewhat aggrieved, "Is Aqi angry with me? Is it affecting our journey?"

Seeing that he didn't speak, she took a few deep breaths, her voice even more aggrieved, "But the doctor can't cure my illness!"

"What exactly is this illness? How could even doctors not be able to cure it?"

Li Yunyan bit her lip and remained silent.

Fu Luoyouqi was filled with rage and ripped off her veil.

The first thing I saw was her slightly pale face and her surprised, reddened eyes.

Li Yunyan exclaimed in surprise and pulled the brocade quilt over herself even tighter.

He rebuked weakly, "Your Highness, how dare you!"

Fu Luoyouqi knew this was inappropriate, but she kept making excuses and wouldn't explain herself. He couldn't just leave the team stuck here without a clear explanation!

His eyes hardened. "Princess Luo Qing, I'll ask you one more time: what illness do you have? If you continue to avoid answering, don't blame me for calling the doctor in!"

Li Yunyan's eyes welled up with tears after he yelled at her.

She bit her lower lip, thought for a long time, and then spoke softly.

"Considering you are my consort, I will tell you!"

She took two deep breaths, as if she had made a great decision, and looked at him with misty eyes, saying reluctantly, "Come closer!"

She finally spoke, and Fu Luoyouqi, disregarding all rules and regulations, immediately bent down and leaned in to listen.

Li Yunyan propped herself up slightly, leaned close to his ear, and whispered, "Actually, I'm not sick, I just... I just... my period started!"

After she finished speaking, she quickly lay down, pulled the blanket over her head, and looked as if she was ashamed to be seen by anyone.

Fu Luo did not understand.

"What do you mean by 'little days'? Explain yourself!"

He didn't lower his voice and asked loudly.

Hiding under the covers, shy Li Yunyan shuddered and poked her head out, looking both embarrassed and indignant. "Keep your voice down!"
