Director Feng's expression hardened.
"President Wei is here! Clear the area immediately!"
When he received the call from Assistant Xu that day, who gave him a number and asked him to proactively offer him the 'Hey! BABY' endorsement deal, he knew things weren't simple.
He adjusted all the benefits to the best possible level, just in case he neglected this distinguished guest who had arrived out of nowhere!
Unexpectedly, General Manager Wei came to supervise the construction himself!
"Hurry! Move faster!"
The staff present were on high alert.
Many people who weren't from this department came to see what was going on. They'd heard the news and wanted to see just who this brand ambassador, Li Yunyan, personally appointed by higher-ups, really was.
Suddenly, a lot more people gathered outside!
General Manager Wei dislikes a chaotic work environment and a large number of people. If he sees so many people, they're definitely in for a world of trouble!
In just forty seconds, almost all the bystanders had dispersed!
Wei Luchen, dressed in a sharp dark gray suit, strode in with an air of composure. His strong features were tinged with a hint of aloofness, and his gaze was distant and indifferent.
"President Wei!" Director Feng and a group of staff members all stood at the door to greet him.
Wei Luchen nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping around, his eyes darkening slightly.
Assistant Xu spoke up at the opportune moment: "Director Feng, where is the spokesperson?"
Director Feng was almost breathless from the look in President Wei's eyes just now, and hurriedly replied, "The spokesperson just finished shooting a set of photos and is resting in the lounge now!"
He looked up after speaking and found that President Wei was looking down at him with a questioning look in his eyes.
What are you asking?
"Oh!" He immediately pointed, "Rest over there! I'll take President Wei over!"
"No need!" Assistant Xu raised his hand to stop him. "Director Feng, please continue with your work!"
"good!"
Wei Luchen strode towards the break room, and the people below returned to their posts, not daring to look away.
There was a knock on the door of the lounge, and Yuan Man opened it.
She thought it was a staff member coming to tell them to take another set of photos, but she never expected that the person knocking on the door was Wei Luchen!
"President Wei?" she called softly.
Wei Luchen nodded, his gaze passing through Yuan Man and landing on the figure reclining on the sofa.
Yuan Man knew he was the child's father, and said in a low voice, "Xiao Yan gets sleepy easily after getting pregnant, she just dozed off for a while! Should I wake her up?"
"No need!" Wei Luchen replied in a low voice, and stepped into the lounge.
Yuan Man walked out very sensibly, and carefully closed the door behind her.
Only the two of them remained in the lounge. Wei Luchen listened to her shallow breathing, and his anxious mood inexplicably calmed down.
He gently sat down next to her, gazing intently at her sleeping face.
She didn't have a boyfriend, and after that day, she didn't have any contact with any men.
The child... is his!
When he received the news, he felt not anger at being deceived, but rather joy.
Secondly, there's the inexplicable irritability.
She's unwilling to admit the child is his because she doesn't have feelings for him yet.
Or... did he behave terribly that night?
Just as he was lost in thought, his phone on the table rang, and the person on the sofa moved.
Li Yunyan opened her eyes, looking at him with misty eyes, still somewhat unable to react.
Wei Luchen felt a tightness in his throat, and his body involuntarily wanted to get closer to her.
He tried his best to control himself, his voice filled with apology, "Miss Li, I'm sorry for disturbing your rest."
"It's okay!" She propped herself up on the sofa, sat up sideways, and turned off her phone alarm.
She smiled gently at him, "It's time to rest!"
"You can keep sleeping! I'll have them reschedule!"
Li Yunyan ran her fingers through her hair, smoothing her slightly messy long hair, a smile playing on her lips. "Is this how President Wei works?"
Wei Luchen was taken aback, only then realizing what he had just said.
He, who always prioritizes work, actually said something like that! He looked slightly taken aback.
Li Yunyan put on her shoes with a confident air, sat up straight, and said, "President Wei, if you have something to say, I have five minutes left!"
Her expression was so calm that Wei Luchen seemed like a young boy.
He's six years older than her!
Wei Luchen composed himself and spoke softly, "First of all, I want to apologize to you!"
She looked at him, waiting for him to continue.
"That day, I thought you were arranged by my friend, so I was a bit abrupt! I'm really sorry!"
"You don't need to apologize!" Li Yunyan said somewhat embarrassedly, even though she was the one who benefited the most.
Her face flushed slightly. "You asked for my opinion back then, and I agreed."
He looked at her and asked the question he had always wanted to ask: "Why didn't you push me away back then?"
"Cough!" Li Yunyan's face turned even redder.
She touched her nose. "The answer is a bit superficial. Do you really want to know?"
"I want to know!" he said, looking at her intently.
Li Yunyan looked up to admire his handsome face, and shamelessly said, "Because you're good-looking!"
"ah?"
He looked stunned; this answer had truly caught him off guard, and he didn't know how to respond for a moment.
This silly look made Li Yunyan laugh out loud. She stood up, supporting her stomach, and walked towards the door.
"Time's up! I have to go to work!"
Wei Luchen followed behind her. He actually had a lot more to say to her, but the occasion and timing weren't right now, so he could only find an opportunity later.
When the staff saw General Manager Wei appear behind Li Yunyan as a protector, they all widened their eyes in unison.
